The St.Louis Cardinals have just won the World Series for the 10th time in their great franchise, making them second all time with 10, breaking a tie with the A's. Exkstein was named the MVP of the Series after accounting for 3 of the Cardinals 4 runs after winning 4-2 in game 5.
I'm personally happy as the Cards are my second favorite team and favorite NL team. Plus, all the Cubs fans have more to cry about.

Congrats St. Louis.
Eckstein had to be MVP really for the performances he had in the last two games. He's a class player and a guy you have to root for seeing as he is an underdog type player who came from nowhere and doesn't have the physique of a dominant player - a little like Chrebet really.

i hated this for a couple reasons:
1: it wasnt the mets
2: my cousins a tigers fan, so i was rooting for the tigers and i like the tigers a bit too
3: the cardinals beat the mets

Good to see an old buddy getting that ring...AND proving that HE is the best 3rd baseman in baseball. Not some guy in Queens who has a great first half...runs out of gas a 1/4 way through the second half, then flops on his face in the post season.
