I can't believe how the league is showing such favoritism to the Spurs. At first I just was angry about how the Spurs have been rewarded for their cheap shots that finally drew a rise out of the Suns. They've beaten up Steve Nash relentlessly and with such OBVIOUS INTENTIONS to injure the Suns players.... Stern should be fired. The guy is an absolute moron and this only goes to show that he in fact is showing favoritism to the Spurs. When a guy intentionally kicks another player and doesn't even get a fine that says something. When the same guy goes out there and intentionally knees Steve Nash in the balls, the dirtiest play in all of sports, he doesn't even get a fine. When the Spurs send Robert Horry out on the court and drills Steve Nash into the table, a dirty hit out of frustration that could have absolutely injured Steve Nash's shoulder seriously, they reward the Suns by absolutely having to go by the books on this one.

Here's the kicker... my favorite part which shows absolutely without a doubt that the Spurs are to the NBA as the Pats are to the NFL in terms of officiating and special treatment:

QUOTE
The Suns, meanwhile, have lost two-thirds of the trio they use to guard Spurs star Tim Duncan after the NBA rejected their claims that the scuffling seen late Monday wasn't a full-blown fight and that Stoudemire and Diaw never got close to it anyway.
QUOTE
The Suns countered by saying that Duncan and Bruce Bowen were guilty of a similar leaving-the-bench offense in Game 4's first half when San Antonio's Francisco Elson fell on the Suns' James Jones after a dunk. That play was also reviewed, but Jackson -- while conceding that Duncan "should not have been on the playing court" -- said that the league determined there was "no cause for the suspension rule" to be applied because the Elson-Jones tangle was not deemed to be an altercation.

Does that not seem to be favoritism to anyone else? In the Suns case, nothing is open for interpretation. In the Spurs case... "Yeah they broke the rules but we're not gonna consider that an altercation so there's no need to suspend the other teams best players. The rule was open to interpretation." Just laughable!

It's just absolutely disgusting that the leauge chose to take the high road with Bowen and his outright attempts to injure the Suns players, not even giving him a fine, and then this happens. Now the Spurs have been rewarded for being cheap and dirty and the Suns are being penalized because they were worried about the safety of their MVP and leader. Cheap. Dirty. Series marred. If anything, Horry shouldn't be allowed to play for the rest of the playoffs due to the bigger picture. Stern wonders why the NBA fanbase is shrinking... it's because of bullshit like this. Injustice amounts. Thugism is rewarded. Chivalry is penalized. I'm not really even a fan of the NBA and this causes outrage in me. I know the Sports World is calling this at face value: "Stu Jackson's decision to suspend Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw for leaving the bench during the fracas at the end of Game 4 is utterly, profoundly, alarmingly, unreasonably ridiculous." That's the general consensus.

Remember when this happend to the Knicks? Series over and Miami was rewarded for initiating the fight.

Everyone that got suspended deserved it. And its not like the Nuns were gonna win the series in the first place. Look at it this way the NBA is just giving the Nuns an extra day or two of vacation.

Are you serious? The Spurs beat the Nuns on their home court. The Spurs beat their self the other day. The Nuns didn't beat them. The Spurs are a much better team then the Nuns. The Spurs will physically dominate the Nuns is a seven game series. Defense wins championships which the Nuns don't have.

A good defense can typically be judged on how many points they give per 100 possessions. The Spurs this year are giving up 101.5 pts/100 possessions and the Suns.. a whopping 102.4. 1 WHOLE POINT!!! The Suns just get a bad rap on defense because they score a lot of points. No they aren't a dominant defensive team, but they are above average and even have some very good individual defenders (Raja Bell, Shawn Marion, Kurt Thomas).

Kobe'skool! hysterical.gif That says it all right there. If you think Kobe is the greatest, you have problems distinguishing between just and injust. Kobe is the reason why the NBA is a travesty. He single handedly ruined a franchise, (maybe the NBA, with his me first attitude) and you wonder why Jerry West left. Does anyone like selfishness on a team? Steve Nash is the most unselfish player in the game. Lebron probably is a close second. Kobe a close last.

As for this ruling, The NBA is controlled by "this me first I think I am god, everyone bow to me" guy (Stern) . Remind you of someone (Kobe). He is horrible! You can't have suspensions in the playoffs unless they are justifiable wrong (like Kobe raping an 18 year old with a wife at home). There has to be malicious intent to harm for a suspension to happen. Kneeing in the balls (yes), cover the guy don't knee him in the balls. Robert Horry (yes) Taking a step off the bench, cmon. They just got excited about a play that occurred. They weren't going to react and if they did then suspend them. Don't supend for a "what if". The NBA is acting like there are goons on a team set aside to take out opposing players. Hello, that is hockey, Stern. Besides, everyone knows the NBA players leave their guns in the car for after the game. NBA= A joke.

You said you don't even watch basketball in some other thread. Then you make a post dissin Kobe (when the thread was about A-Rod) and you can't even man up and respond to it. So STFU, This thread is about the Nuns and Spurs.

I coach high school basketball. Real Basketball! You might want to start watching the NCAA's. There is actually "a team playing another team". Not 4 guys watching one guy play offense. Kobe is a good shooter/player, I am not going to knock him on that, but he does not understand the word "team". Kobe wants to win, that is a joke. They were winning. He had the most dominant big man in NBA history and he said " I can't play with him". HAHAHAHA, are you kidding. But he wants to win. He cares about Kobe scoring 5o points. He will never win another championship

Who was right about A-rod? You bashed him and it blew up in your face. I know he slumping a bit now in the HR department lately, but please!

I still expect PHX to win this series. Why? Steve Nash the REAL MVP will find a way to carry his team to victory. A smaller lineup will run the Spurs out of the gym. PHX at home by 10 plus and then u get the full squad at San Antonio to wrap it up.

kobeskool is just jealous that Steve Nash is 10 times the player Kobe will ever be.

STEVE NASH>KOBE BRYANT

Just accept it already.

The only person that needs to "STFU" is you kobeskool. You obviously don't know what you're talking about when it comes to the situation. It's obvious that you would never credit the Suns or Steve Nash because you can't respect the game of basketball. The Suns players deserved what they got huh? Is that why everyone that matters... hint hint, you dont... says otherwise?

no doubt nash is the mvp. did u see those crucial plays he made to lock up that last spurs game? they were clutch.
i could see why kobeskool is pushing for the spurs.. he probably wants the suns to lose. not only that he just cant take the fact that nash is more of a complete player then kobe will ever be. to be honest i really enjoy watching kobe play but kid some of the things you type up in here either for shock value or to spit ur opinion... are straight up unfounded garbage.

Haha. You said Nash is a better player. Wow stop smokin weed and open your eyes. Kobe has always been a better player then Nash. Kobe is the best player in the league with the worse player around him or the best players around him. Nash isn't a complete player thats why he was an average player when he was with the Mavs. Now he has good player around him that makes him look good. Steve Nash isn't even the best point guard in the NBA. Jason Kidd is still the best point guard in the NBA and look who he is doing it with role player. Nash is doin it with all star player. Some of you are gonna say Vince Carter is a super star caliber player but he is not. He is a good role player who can dunk better then anyone in the game. Steve Nash is a prodigy of a system.

You just argue without any evidence. Kidd playing with role players?? RJ and Vince?? Role players.. umm ok. Yes the Suns are better, but Nash makes that team go, when he doesn't play their team is not nearly as good. I actually like Kobe a lot, but to say Nash isn't good is just stupid. He shot 53% from the field this year... AS A GUARD!!!

When did I say he wasn't good. He is a good player, but not great. He wasn't great in Dallas. He didn't become great until he signed with the Nuns. The system he is in and the players around him make him look better then he actually is. The Nuns are still a top 5 teams in the West without Nash. Barbosa, Bell, Matrix, Marion are still a really good team. The Lakers without Kobe would have a top 3 draft pick. The MVP means most valuable player and Kobe is the Most Valuable player in the League.

I agree with kobeskool. While I'd rather have VC and RJ, Kidd still does a hell of a lot more with less than Nash. See Mikki Moore, Josh Boone, Annty Wright, Nachbar, and Collins

I agree the Lakers would be worse off record wise if Kobe left. However, Nash shouldn't be penalized because his team is good. He isn't a product of that system, he IS that system. Without someone as good as passing and shooting running the show it wouldn't be nearly as effective. Also, in the only article I could find (http://www.nba.com/suns/news/tribune_070214.html) the Suns were 4-11 in the last 3 years without Nash. They won 57 games or something last year without Stoudamire (1st team all NBA this year). So don't try and tell me he is a product of the system, he runs that shit. Shaq should have won MVP 2 years ago, Kobe last year and Nash this year.

As for Jason Kidd, he is an unbelievable player as well. Him and Nash are so different its cool how they are the top two PG's in the NBA. Kidd unquestionably plays great defense while Nash doesn't know what that word means. Kidd is a better rebounder obviously, and they are probably equal as far passing. Nash is a WAY better shooter though. So it really comes down to personal preference. I would take Kidd because he took two crummy Nets teams to the NBA finals, somewhere Nash has never been.
