Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:01 AM) Like people need more reasons to stay at home for the game
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) Honestly, at this point, the only way I'd go to an NFL game was A. Free tickets B. Tickets were close enough to the field that I felt like I could heckle a player and be heard
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) its not stupid its actually genius
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) the problem is i know for sure the evil genius behind it is dan snyder and other owners pushing for this shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:02 AM) they want their new stadiums to inhale your money from the minute you enter its zipcode
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Genius in the sense that you force people to spend more money
santana Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) right
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) Baseball stadiums started doing this since right after 9/11
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:03 AM) I used to go to Mets games as a kid with a subway hero
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Now I gotta drop $30 for a burger with fries
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) You know what I do? Not go to the fuckin games LOL
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) And it's not just me because the Mets suck, Yankees can't sell out anymore at all
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) Shit, even Mets vs Yankees wasn't sold out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) That never happened in the 90s
santana Icon : (Today, 12:04 AM) ghetto fries
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) whats amusing is at nationals stadium the staff is the worst
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) they don't give a shit
santana Icon : (Today, 12:05 AM) specially sunday morning
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) How so?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) Do they make you watch the Nationals?
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) every time they handed me my food or what not then i had to go to the register to pay i just walked away because the queue was too long
santana Icon : (Today, 12:06 AM) people running the registers just go super slow
santana Icon : (Today, 12:07 AM) no one there is in charge of making sure the customers are following the process
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Wait, you pay after you get your food?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) How does that even work?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:11 AM) Everywhere you pay when you place your order
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) well its decided getting some booze tomorrow afternoon and drinking every time i head lebron's head band referenced
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) like i said the concession stands are a mess
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) You might die
santana Icon : (Today, 12:12 AM) there were multiple people behind the counter
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so you could just go up to it and ask for what you wanted and 1 out of the 5 people would be on a single register
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) so eventually you were just handed your food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) expecting for someone to approach the register you were standing infront to charge you
santana Icon : (Today, 12:13 AM) or you were led to believe maybe you had to go line up to the one that had a cashier with people already waiting on it
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) so a lot of the times when i was just handed the food i requested i would stand there look around see them go back to being distracted on their boost mobile phones or whatever reason and walked away
santana Icon : (Today, 12:14 AM) i got 6 pretzels like this for the group i was with and 3 hot dogs
santana Icon : (Today, 12:15 AM) my ticket one time had like 5$ towards concessions or what not their scanner wasnt working at the register so it wasnt reading it right or she didnt know what she was doing. she tried to scan it 3 times then litterally just turned away so i was standing there asking if it was all good no one answered so i just walked away with the food
santana Icon : (Today, 12:18 AM) probably doesn't help that they are hiring people from one of the worst parts of dc
santana Icon : (Today, 12:19 AM) in fact all the stadiums in dc are in very low income areas probably to exploit this work force
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:31 AM) No stadiums are in low income areas because that's how they get municipal bonds to finance construction. "Look, we're giving black people jobs! Pay for our stadium!!!"
santana Icon : (Today, 12:32 AM) right
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 01:48 PM) New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will face a lawsuit for allegedly shooting a man after an altercation at a Miami strip club.

TMZ.com broke news of this stunning development, as the lawsuit was filed in Florida federal court on Wednesday—five days prior to authorities searching Hernandez's Massachusetts home for an apparently unrelated homicide case.
santana Icon : (Today, 02:41 PM) A well-placed source told Paul Lukas, who writes Uni Watch for ESPN.com, that Revis paid safety Mark Barron $50,000 to get the No. 24 from the second-year safety.
Mr_Jet Icon : (Today, 04:06 PM) I've watched about 3 minutes of ESPN today and have already heard the word "headband" twice.
santana Icon : (Today, 04:13 PM) yea i'm going to get hammered

The Americans only tied this game because italy was playing down to their level skill-wise. The Us didn't even score on it's own, they needed help from the Italian full back. The Americans are the Arizona Cardinals of the World Cup. Whenever a tie feels like a huge win, you're in bad shape.

sometimes draws are pretty huge, like this morning for australia, drawing with croatia like they did now we are through and i say BRING ON ITALY, great victory for australia

The f***ing refs need to go!!! I'm not the one to disrespect or question refereeing but the past two games were ridiculous. There was no way the what a foul on Ontrewyu in the box that was bullshit, and just completely killed the Momentum. Also, it was poorly coached by Arenas, he should have put Eddie in way earlier and in not saying early in the second half, I'm saying after the first Ghana goal. Another problem i have is with Claudio Reyna. What the f*** is up with your *beep*??? If he hadn't been a typical soccer *beep* and not fallen down he could have picked up the Ghana player and prevented the goal. Good job to the 10 other US team members its too bad that it had to end with such travesty. Hopefully Keller will last another four years but thats doubtful.

That was a shitty call in stopage time nevertheless! I mean the guy had NO SHOT of creating a score for himself but what pissed me off more was Landon Donovan electing to pass the ball instead of charging the net after he beat his defender, he had a open shot to tie the game and he chicken shitted his way out of it by passing the ball!

Yeah Landon was really pissing me off. Sub in eddie for gods sake becaus ehe wasn't doing shit. He elected to pass all throughout qualifying and on his resume it should read "Will turn down open net, to pass into a double team." I remember one qualifying game I think it was the Honduras game, where McBride literally stole the ball, not even kidding, from Donovan and scored. You saw what happened when they moved the ball, Beasley to Dempsey to back of net. Come on now

iagree.gif The ref in the US game was poor. No way was it a penalty and he disrupted the flow of the game. Reyna should have got the ball out of his feet but the Ghana player's knee struck his knee when he tackled Reyna that caused the injury. I think the US have a good backup keeper in Tim Howard who was good for Man Utd before Edwin van der Sar was signed. Overall the US were put in a tough group and if they had been drawn in a different group like England's or Spain's then I think they would have progressed.

In Australia's match the English ref showed a Croatia player THREE yellow cards before finally producing a red.

The refereeing so far has been extremely erratic with only a couple of good performances.

how hard can it be for a ref to just write the number down and check the book when another card is dealt out. i know its a tough job, and usually they are spot on but thats just poor. And how come the refs assistants didn't see it either, ill never know. In the crucial moments of that match that really could of been costly.

And there should of been three penalties given to australia, two for handball- the one that was let go was more blatant then the one that was given- and another when viduka was arm tackled in the box early on. How can you let that go on?, i hope we get better refs for italy, cause they seem to enjoy takin a dive

Professional refs never write the number of the player they booked down, I think that is the job of the two assisstant referees and the fourth official. I agree his assisstants should have seen it and IMO the mistake by the refs makes his assisstants look worse than he does.
I'm a qualified soccer referee myself and you are taught to take the name and number of the player you are booking. In the proffesional game they just show the yellow card to cut down on stoppages but IMO they too should have to take his name and number to avoid mistakes.
Anyway good luck to the Aussies in the next round - your guys have got Italy right?

Portugal looked good today.
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.

That game was crazy - 16 yellow cards and 4 red cards. Me and my mates couldn't stop laughing at the amount of cards the ref gave out.
With Deco - Portugal's playmaker - suspended for the quarter final with England, I see England having a slight chance but with the way England played yesterday - they just saw off Ecuador luckilly - I see Portugal advancing to the last four.
Did anyone see the Argentina - Mexico game Saturday? - that was a classic

cant see (unfortunately) australia progressing cause kewell is under an injury cloud... hasnt trained at all this week (or since the croatia game) and we need him firing, especially with emerton missing due to the cards.

I think argentina will go a long way... that winning goal was an absolute gem of a goal, also i think spain will be dangerous and obviously brazil

im hoping for a good ref though, we have had 3 shockers

That should only have been yellow but the penalty was harsher, the Italian took a blatant dive when there was minimal contact. When Materazzi was sent off he was no way going for the ball and went in pretty hard. Id have liked to seen Australia go through but with Italy through it means the better side on paper has advanced.

The Italians play soccer like Italians fight in wars--like a bunch of f***ing pansies. "Play the game, and stop falling. You weren't fouled and you're not hurt!" I'm running out of ways to defend soccer when crap like that happens in a game. It's ruining the sport.

Athletes in most sports have a little something called pride preventing them from diving & faking injuries. And why the hell do the Refs give them the foul? Soccer is getting as bad as boxing and figure skating.
