The Italians play soccer like Italians fight in wars--like a bunch of fucking pansies. "Play the game, and stop falling. You weren't fouled and you're not hurt!" I'm running out of ways to defend soccer when crap like that happens in a game. It's ruining the sport.

Athletes in most sports have a little something called pride preventing them from diving & faking injuries. And why the hell do the Refs give them the foul? Soccer is getting as bad as boxing and figure skating.

Like Totti really decided to take a fall, when he really had a chance to get the goal anyway. The guy obviously tripped Totti from behind. Stop crying over your teams losing, and just let Italy show that their a good soccer team.

You have to admit, soccer is one of the most faked sports in the world. Someone taking a dive *cough*REYNA!* cost us advancing in the world cup. And everything is exagerated so much, which worries me because you usually don't see this kind of acting during the world cup, like they do in League soccer. Its one of the many reasons why I only follow world soccer but now I'm a bit detracted from it. The Italians and Argentines are the kings of taking dives. Which brings me to another point: Soccer isn't a contact sport. Sorry for all you soccer enthusiasts who say soccer is one of the most physical games out there, yeah athletically (I still think hockey and football skill position players are better athletes), but there isn't any contact at all. Sure there was the McBride elbow, but that was one of the few instances i have ever seen severe contact.

if your talking about the last goal in the aussie match, i dont think it was totti who got the penalty awarded, he kicked it, but that was all. And the italian did dive, he was beaten by a tackle, that as the replay shows me, that didnt touch him until the italian ran into Neill, our defender. But it wasn't just that call, it seemed every time there was contact, they were hitting the deck looking for a foul. But i agree the red was harsh

good luck to italy, but my support will be behind ukraine for the next round, and england, since my dad was born there

Stevie Wonder can see that the call was BS. Totti flopped better than Vlade Divac

Well I dont believe that it was penalty shot worthy, but it was definatly at least a foul. It was obvious that the Aussie player was not going for the ball. The replay showed me that the defender for Aussie was going to be beat unless he triped that italian player.

I honestly don't see Italy, Ukraine, or England winning it all, but I definatly see Brazil, the obvious favorite winning it all.

brescianos deserved to be a foul, he pulled his jersey in a attempt to stop him, neill slid in to get the ball. and any foul in the box is a penalty so you cant say it wasnt worth a penalty but it was a foul. there has been worse incidents let go, and thats the major problem for me... no consistency

Well, it's obvious that the refs have been horriable during the World Cup, there is no question about it. If you say that game with 16 yellow flags, and 4 red flags, then you would know what I am talking about. Also, the USA vs. Italy game. They were also horriable in that game as well.

I would be embarrassed if I were Italian. They play like str8 panzies and I don't expect them to make it past this round. They can't keep getting by on rolling and flopping on the ground like wounded ducks. LOL.

Their elimination is soon coming with their next match. Acting can only get you so far and this aien't Hollywood.

I would never be embarrassed to be Italian. It is my nationality, and I am definatly proud of it, I honestly don't give a shit of what you people think of Italy. Trash the country all you want, I will always reprsent being Italian, no matter what. Besides, you shouldn't hate a country for how they play in sports, thats just ignorant. The dumbest thing you honestly said in that post is that you would be embarrassed to be Italian. Thats the dumbest thing I have heard.

You honestly need to calm down and take a midol. Look the Italians around here drive around with their flags hanging out of their windows beeping their horns like nimrods. I don't hate or dislike Italians but if I were Italian I would not be showboating about my country when they play like b!tches and I sorry but I would be embarrassed to root for them because of the way they play.

They whine and b!tch like girly men and I can't stand people who use everything else in the book to win beside talent and although they are talented they try to get over on people by being cheap. Thats not sports and people who have to cheat or be cheap and try to bend and abuse the rules to win make's me wanna spit on them I'm sorry it's just my opinion.

Thats like Chad Pennington getting brushed on and flopping on the ground like a harpooned seal after throwing an incomplete ball to nobody with 10 seconds left in the game, 4th down on their 20 yard line and abusing the rules to try to get over on an opponent by acting as if he got smoked be a DE when the DE just nudged him. That would be a cheap and straight up faggot way of trying to win and if they win the whole thing then I will really feel like spitting on them because there are some many more deserving teams who didn't result to flopping and crying like little b!tches to try and get the game turned over in their favor by being cheap, whining little pu$$ie$.

I'm sorry it's just my MO. If it were any other team I would be saying the same thing about them but it just so happeneds to be Italy. If USA or France did that I would feel ashamed because those are my teams and I would voice my opinion same way.

All I have to say is thank god for football because if thats what sports were mirrored from I'd hang myself

Well if you knew anything about Italians, then you would know that we are not very good in sports, so when we actually have a good team, then we got to show it off. So what, we drive around showing our pride for our country. Why the hell does that hurt you? Since we are nimrods for showing our pride for our team when we win, wouldn't that make the Heat fans nimrods for acting like "nimrods" for celebrating their victory over the Mavs in the Finals? No, it's just showing pride for their team, just like we are doing for our country. So, if you ask me I think you should be the one who should stop with the language. You happen to be the one calling us Italians pussies. Dude, stop resulting to names, and grow up, let us have pride in our country for once in a lifetime. Stop sticking up for USA all your life. I love the United States, but just take a second and admit they sucked this year. Stop blaming it on some other team for your the USA to suck. Just grow up.

If funny how your feeling are really getting hurt. I'm just one person stating his likes and dislikes and your the only one who seems to have a problem with it. I like France as well so stop talking about USA as if thats the only team I like but of course I have to represent my country and when USA fails to qualify it's all France for me.

Italian pride is strong I know that especially around this time when the world cup is on and I'm not going to state my view points because I have already stated my beefs and hang-ups where the Italians play. I will still watch when they play because they are talented although sometimes is painful and emotionally draining to watch at times I still will.

I'm not going to oblige in this rant fest that is begining to take place I don't care about the sport that much to argue about it and believe it or not this is my first year I actually have watched almost every game and became really interested. It justs pains me to see players ruin a great game.

End of my rant.

didn't see that game, kick off was at 4 in the morning and i wasnt that desperate to see itbut just looking at those stats, you know that some of that at least has to be blamed on the refs.

And as for the diving, i think that in the italy vs australia game, italy were desperate for some ball control, the aussies were content to just hold the ball, because the italians just looked dangerous every time they touched the ball. I dont think they missed one target when going long.

I'm Itallian, I'm pretty good at about every sport I attempt to play. Just to throw that out there. I'll go for Italy and England now that US is out.

As far as Italy and the way they play soccer, they're pretty good. You can look at ALL the teams and they all play like Italy did against the US. Now I didn't see Italy do the same whiney baby bitch boy stuff they did against the US as when they played the Aussies, but you'll always get people complaining and selling fouls against a physical team. The Ukraine does it ALOT. They all do it. Ghana did it unmercifully to the US's demise. It's soccer, that's what happens.

Anyway, just let this thread die. No need to fight about things that have nothing to do with the Jets.

Okay, jcbizkit, what country were you born in. Theres a differance between being of italian descent and being italian. For instance my father is from Chile, and my moms ancestors were from Ireland...but I'm American because I was born in America. If your proud of you descent thats fine with me but saying that you are showing pride for YOUR country just doesn't make sense.

And sdubb, what got into you man? I mean I certainly hate all of the *beep*-flopping around being done by the italians but I don't talk about how bad it is too Italian right now. Thats like a Frenchman saying they don't like America because of Bush, which they do and it pisses me off because they are the true pussies. I don't know if I fail to see another point you were trying to get at, butsaying that about someone place of descent is kind of ignorant.

Please tell me, is USA still in the Cup or not? That may have something to do with me rooting for Italy now. Everytime USA gets knocked out in something, and if Italy is still in it, I will root for them, no matter what. I love the USA, but I also love my nationality.
