Jets win 3-1. Beat dolphins so bad that philbin isnt allowed back from england.
azjetfan Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:07 PM) Dolphins have also fired their DC
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:24 PM) I am composed. 115 and I may see things differently but he has never pissed me off. He is just trying to make his point of view and I mine nothing more
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:25 PM) I just feel the rule is a very bad rule to give the offense the ball back for losing the ball in the endzone because of a batted ball and feel the NFL is far to offense firendly these days thats all
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:27 PM) I know many agree with that. I get that many changes have been made to limit things like brain damage and other injuries some season ending and career ending but defenses cant play hard like they used to and pathetic calls on defenses have ruinbed many games.
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:29 PM) Thats why brought up the Jets Fish game. The balls were clearly uncatcahable and a light tug on the jersey shouldn't be a pi. Whatever happened to the uncatchable ball rule?"
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:33 PM) and as far as that montage I did have ESPN on for 2 hours after the game because I wanted to see all the reactions and get a clear understanding of this old rule and I never saw a bunch of clips where flags were thrown for the play in question. So I asked for proof. If it was on ESPN it wasn't on ESPN1 maybe ESPN 2 ,3 or news. Its not wrong or brutal to ask for proof when he stated he saw it on ESPN I had the channel on and didn't see what he claimed he saw and still haven't seen any video of proof of his claims
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:36 PM) But as I said not mad at all. 115 and I are cool and always have been Ive never been mad at him in anyway. This is a fan forum and we dispute. If we all agreed on everything there would be no point of the forum. Disputes on stats and calls make things interesting, and makes each of use see things from different points of view
Jetsfan115 Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:56 PM) it was on whatever channel the game itself came on
Jetsfan115 Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:56 PM) and for the record I don't have any issue with anything rob said. I just disagree with it
Jetsfan115 Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:57 PM) I do think rules are too offense friendly, but I think in this case, when someone blatently breaks a rule ti should be punished
Jetsfan115 Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:57 PM) but then again pacman got away with ripping off a players helmet and didn't get a penatly
Jetsfan115 Icon : (08 October 2015 - 03:57 PM) refs need to be more consistent
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 09:04 PM) Hell yeah! Pac 12 AZ State Jaelen Strong. Not a Texans fan but and dont watch a ton of college football but do watch the Pac 12 for football and basketball growing up in Phoenix and also a Suns fan and liking the Cardinals since they moved to AZ .Was a Jets fan though before Az got the cardinals . Strong was really good for AZ State.
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 09:05 PM) Havent studied up on strong for the Texans but will have to since the announcers said he hasnt played much. I want to know if he has been injured or not performing. He has good hands and size
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 09:08 PM) I actually was debating on starting the Colts witth Jets D on bye week glad I dropped them. Wasn't much to choose from. Some decent defenses but bad matchups. took a chance on the Jags this week hoping they can shut down Tampa
ROBJETS Icon : (08 October 2015 - 09:10 PM) Oh and thanks for that 115. people took it wrong. we were simply debating our opinions with passion for our love of football with no animosity and people took it wrong. Easy to misunderstand texts
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 11:21 AM) yeah people don't realize it's ok to disagree on the internet without it being 2 people hating each other lol
RetireChrebet Icon : (09 October 2015 - 12:30 PM) I think if the defense touches a live football in the end zone, period, it should be ruled a touchback.
RetireChrebet Icon : (09 October 2015 - 12:30 PM) Talking about fumbles, not passes, of course.
RetireChrebet Icon : (09 October 2015 - 12:31 PM) That's the simplest way to combat any confusion about the rule.
RetireChrebet Icon : (09 October 2015 - 12:32 PM) If you don't like that rule, then don't fumble in the end zone your trying to score in.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 02:21 PM) it's gotta be possession.
RetireChrebet Icon : (09 October 2015 - 04:03 PM) I know what the rule is. In proposing a rule change. Evidently, the way it is now is too complicated. If a defense touches a live football in the end zone it should be their ball at the 20. Problem solved.
RetireChrebet Icon : (09 October 2015 - 04:03 PM) I'm*
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 04:44 PM) what if the defense touches it whole trying tor ecover but doens't get it and the offense jumps on it first?
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 05:56 PM) You may not agree with it 115 but the way I look at it is if the offense recovered it it would be a touchdown. Its ok for a punter, qb, or rb ,etc. to deliberately take a safety so they dont get a punt blocked for a td or to avoid giving the ball up on the 1-2 yard line giving up a near definite td. An also those safeties by the O sometimes saves the game because giving up 2 instead of 7 keeps the game in reach at times.
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:03 PM) Thats why I disagree with the rule. The offense gets the breaks of only giving up 2 points on O. but when fumbkling into the endzone and out it is always ruled a touchback even if the defender or O tries to recoiver the ball in the endzone and the ball goes out of bounds. Thats why I think batting the ball out of the endzone should still be a touchback instead of giving the ball back to the O that fumbled the ball into the endzone. Just dont feel that they should get a chance to get the ball back for an almost automatic td when they fumbled into the endzone just because of a batted ball. Its something that could litterally cause the defense that made a great play to lose simply because of a vbatted ball. Yet if they try to recover it it and it goes out its a touchback. I just feel its to game changing and a bad rule to give the O the ball back after they messed up bad because that play was the difference between a win and loss. The O fumbles so giving the O the ball back is like saying your great def play was worthless.
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:04 PM) Just feel that its a bad rule since it would have almost definitely changed the game winner.
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:08 PM) Just to many good rules for the O these days and to many bad rules for the D. this isn't college where offense dominates in most games. In the pros I want to see an equal playing field and not how its become so offensive friendly. Our own Jets have lost a lot of games on defensive calls alone after stopping the O. 3rd down and a mile and a penalty cost a 1st down and in many cases the game for us. Basically that's why I'm against the rule. I want an equal playing field in the pros nothing more.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:26 PM) Offense is in control of the ball, they should have that option. Both teams get to play offense it's not unfiar
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:26 PM) a major defensive play is more game changing then a major offensive play too.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:26 PM) turnover ratio is better linked to win/loss then any other stat
Jetsfan115 Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:27 PM) even in your case the offense gives up 2 point and posession back with good field position and ball control
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:33 PM) Lets just a agree to disagree on this topic. We both see the situation different and neither of us will budge on this. best we just let it go and see if the NFL starts enforcing the rule more or changes it at some point. Either way. All the coaches and players in the league now know the rule so I doubt it will deliberately happen again any time soon....but then again who knows...in the games there are a lot of stupid fouls out of frustration, taunting, etc.
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:34 PM) And the fans and officials are now aware of a rule almost no one but the officials knew.
ROBJETS Icon : (09 October 2015 - 06:37 PM) Heck Im upset that we arent 4-0 right now with all thr mistakes against the Eagles and still almost coming back. I feel we need every win we can get especially with the Bills looking decent and always having to deal with the pats every year. Be nice to win the division for once. So tired of seeing the Pats win and get a bye almost every year.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (09 October 2015 - 11:12 PM) Why do the Jets DBs have to talk about the Giants WRs!!? Why can't they just worry about our own team.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (09 October 2015 - 11:13 PM) I think all jets fans remember the last time our DBs talked crap about a Giants WR..
MikeGangGree... Icon : (09 October 2015 - 11:13 PM) The jets should just worry about the Jets!!
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 10:29 AM) jets and giants players hang out all the time
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 10:29 AM) i'm sure they dont care lol
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:24 AM) well bills won, we need a win this week to stay inn 2nd
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:25 AM) at least miami is pretty much done but we have to compete with NE and buffalo still
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:26 AM) as santana said, it's probably all in fun. most of these guys in the NFL are friends with players form other teams. I'm sure some jets/giants players are friends with each other
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 10:31 PM) Vick = $$

Week 3 Pre-Game Show: New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills

Jets Offense Vs. Bills Defense

Jets offense needs to continue what they did last week against the New England Patriots. Chad Pennington played amazing, collecting 3 touchdowns. The running game was also amazing. The Bills defense will look to stop that though. They have a very good defense, and will most likely stop the run easy. The Jets will need another week to pass a lot. If they do not do that, then they will most likely lose this game.
Edge: Push

Bills Offense Vs. Jets Defense

The Bills will have Holcomb starting this game, and it really doesn't matter who they start, they will have a horriable passing game. There is one thing about this Bills offense that is very good for Buffalo. That guy is Willis McGahee. The guy comes to play every single day, and he is almost always a factor. He usually dominates the Jets everytime that the Bills play against them. Look for the Bills to dominate the Jets defense on the ground.
Edge: Bills

Up and coming New York Jets coach, won last week against his mentor, and will look to face Jauron this week. The Jets have been playing great so far this season, and that means one thing. Mangini truely is the best thing for the Jets. If Herman Edwards was coaching this team still, where do you think that they would be at this point?

I didn't get a chance to get the scoring summary, here are the stats though.

Jets 44
Bills 6
My Summary: Really brutal game, honestly the most boring game I've ever played, I haven't beaten any team that badly in a long time. Holcomb had a total of 6 interceptions. I really hope none of my future games are as boring as this one. On a side note, I got Clemens to come in a play the final quarter, since the game was such a blow out. McGahee didn't get that many carries, because they kind of abandoned the run since the game was an out of reach game from the start. They didn't get into the redzone until I was beating them 20-0, and I believe that was in the third quarter.

Player Stats
C. Pennington 12 for 22, 159 yards
K. Clemens 4 for 5, 117 yards, 1 touchdown
K. Holcomb 18 for 39, 190 yards, 6 interceptions

K. Barlow 16 att., 67 yards, 4.2 Avg.

C. Baker 5 Rec., 50 yards, 10.0 Avg.
J. Cotchery 3 Rec., 44 yards, 14.7 Avg.
L. Evans 6 Rec., 56 yards, 9.3 Avg.
R. Royal 4 Rec., 42 yards, 10.5 Avg.

J. Vilma 6 tackles, 1 interception
V. Hobson 6 tackles
K. Rhodes 4 tackles, 1 interception
J. Miller 3 tackles, 1 interception
A. Dyson 3 tackles, 2 interceptions
L. Fletcher 8 tackles
T. Vincent 7 tackles
A. Schobel 6 tackles

I think I might have to start this over.... Which sucks... The reason is because People are out with injuries, and they are playing. Dumb Glitch, and I have never seen a glitch like this before. This sucks.

No... He is getting passes thrown his way though. Brad Smith is even getting more passes thrown his way then, McCareins is. I want to know what you guys think I should do. Start over because of the dumb glitch, or just continue?

I think im gonna play a game later tonight, and if I get the time to post the stats, and summary I will, but I will post the results either tonight or tomorrow.

Week 4 Pre-Game Show: Indianapolis Colts @ New York Jets

Colts Offense Vs. Jets Defense

The Colts offense is simply very good, especially since there quarterback is possibly the best game caller in the game today, and maybe since Dan Marino. There only seems to be one problem with this team, and that is their running game, they don't have the best running back in the world, they lost Edge in the offseason, and that hurt them, more then anybody expected. The Jets will have to score a lot of point, or they are going to be blown out this game.
Edge: Colts

Jets Offense Vs. Colts Defense

Jets will have to pass the ball against the Colts to win this game, because Peyton Manning will score quick on this defense. Chad Pennington will simply have to try and equal Peyton Manning in this game, or it'll simply get ugly for this Jets team. Chad Pennington will have to find all the recievers, not only Coles, but Cotchery, Smith, and McCareins as well. He'll have to get into a rhythm early and stay in that rhythn to win this game
Edge: Push

Coaching: Rookie head coach has had a great start to his season, starting 3-0, but now he's going to be going against the big boys of the league, the Indianapolis Colts. Expect Mangini, and the Jets to look confused out there, and expect the Jets first loss of the season.

My Summary: Back and forth game from the first quarter to the 4th quarter. Infact, the last team that had the ball one the game. Peyton Manning was lighting up my defense, Stokely almost got 200 yards recieving. I also found all 4 of my recievers in this game, (Coles, Cotchery, McCareins, and Smith). Kevan Barlow got injured, and is now out for a week. Not sure who will start the game against the jaguars, but the choices are definatly between Houston, and Washington. It might even be 50-50 the whole game like I have been doing the whole season so far. Anyway, heres the score:

Week 5 Pre-Game Show: New York Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Jets Offense vs. Jaguars Defense

Jets will have to pass the ball to win this gam, because there is no way their offense will get anything on the ground, especially with their starter Kevan Barlow out. Most likely the Jets will mix up the run between Houston, and Leon Washington. Their running game might suck for another 2 weeks until Curtis Martin comes back. Chad Pennington will have to continue finding all his recievers like he has been doing since the start of the season, if he does that the Jets have a shot. Thats a big "if" though. Remember though, the Jaguars were the team that injured Chad just a season ago, it also seems that Chad always has a problem with this team, chad hopes to put that behind him today.
Edge: Jaguars

Jaguars Offense vs. Jets Defense

Well, Byron Leftwhich isin't exactly the best or not even that good of a quarterback in the NFL. He is a very overrated quarterback, if you ask me. The Jets defense is a defense that produces a lot of turnovers as well. So Leftwhich will have to hand the ball to his running back if they want to win this game as well, and this battle as well too. I just don't see Leftwhich passing it much this game, because he is not the quarterback you would expect to win much if any playoff games in his lifetime as an athlete.
Edge: Jets

Jack Del Rio has not a termendous job since becoming the coach of the Jaguars. He came trying to turn this team around, from a bunch of jokes to A 12-4 record, just a season ago. Will the undefeated coach of the New York Jets, Eric Mangini continue making his great coaching and make Del Rio look, bad, or will it be the other way around, with Del Rio embarassing Mangini?

The Jets offense has been nearly unstopable every single game, even when Pennington was out for the game last week, Kellen Clemens got this going and he got 3 touchdowns passes, and threw over 300 yards in the game. The Jets offense has shown themselves to be very good. Kevan Barlow will be back to play this game, after getting injured two weeks ago, and being out for the Jaguars game. Curtis Martin will be back for next weeks game, and thats great news for the Jets offense, and fans. The dolphins have a good defense all around, but is it good enough to stop this very good Jets offense?
Edge: Jets

Dolphins Offense Vs. Jets Defense

Dolphins offense has been average at best so far this season, but the Jets defense has been completly horriable for every single game, except for the one against the Buffalo Bills. Culpepper will look to light this Jets weak defense up. The Jets however have been making turnovers happen which is always a good thing. Will they make the turnovers this game though? The jets will need to if they want to stay first in the division. Ronnie Brown will most likely explode for a good game as well.
Edge: Dolphins

1st year coach vs. 2nd year coach. The Jets have looked very good this year, and the reason why is Eric mangini, without him this team most likely would be lost. The Dolphins had a very good end to their season last year, winning their last 6 games of the season. So far Nick Saban has this team tied for second in the division with the patriots at a 3-2 record.

Your D has been giving up big the last couple weeks. Facing Culpepper should put an end to that.

This thread is good, interesting stuff and it's nice to see a lot of effort is being put into it. Keep up the good work.

Week 7 Pre-Game Show: Detroit Lions @ New York Jets

Jets Offense Vs. Lions Defense

Jets offense has been nearly the best offense in the league, Coles has been the best wide receiver in the league, and their running game has been solid between Houston, Barlow, and Washington. But now, Curtis Martin returns this week. The 12 year veteran running back will make his first start of the 2006 NFL season. Curtis Martin is fourth on the all time rushing list behind Emmitt Smith, Walter Peyton, and Barry Sanders. Some names to put yourself behind. Don't expect Curtis Martin to play every single down though, because all 3 of their other running backs have played good.
Edge: Jets

Lions Offense Vs. Jets Defense

Two players the lions have to get the ball to. Kevin Jones, and Roy Williams. If they get the football to these two guys the Lions will be in this game. The Jets have been producing turnovers on a consistent basis, and the Lions not having not that great of a quarterback, they will be looking to continue that great defense stretch they had against the Dolphins last week.
Edge: Push

Not only do the Jets have a new coach, but the Lions have one as well. The two rookie head coaches, Eric Mangini, and Rob Marinelli will be going at it in week 7 of the nfl season. The Jets right now are 5-1, and the Lions right now are 3-3. Which means one thing. Rookie head coaches aren't necessarilly a bad thing. Both teams have been playing a lot better then all the experts were saying these two would. Jets have been amazing so far, and the Lions have been an average team.

My Summary: My offense looks like it decided to take the game off. But for once, my defense is doing great. Shut the Lions down for most of the game. Really I only had one mistake the whole game, and I gave up a long pass to Roy Williams and he brought it to the house. Other then that I shut them down. It's more fun playing madden though, when it's a close battle, and don't get me wrong, I like losing in madden... lol

Week 8 Pre-Game Show: New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns

Jets Offense Vs. Browns Defense

The New York Jets struggled on the offensive side of the ball last week against the Lions. Their defense definatly saved them from losing last week. This week Chad needs to find Coles more then he did last week, because the Lions covered Coles really good, and Chad couldn't get the ball to him, instead Chad found other receivers in Cotchery, and Brad Smith. Last week Curtis Martin came back and gained 96 yards on 27 carries. he hoped this game will come out better for him.
Edge: Jets

Browns Offense Vs. Jets Defense

All the Jets really have to do is contain two players this game. Jurevicious, Edwards and Droughns. If the Jets contain these two, this should be an easy win for the Jets, who are looking for their third straight win. But, wins really don't come easy in the NFL. Everyone expected the Jets to be the worst team in the league, and now they are one of the best. Frye will most likely be passing a lot since the jets seem to have problems covering wide receivers so far this season.
Edge: Push

It is the battle of two deciples of Bill Belichick. Romeo Crennel vs. Eric Mangini. Both are very good coaches, the only difference is the Jets are easily a better team then the Browns. Will Mangini and the Jets be over confident, or will they take it as if every game is the same like they've been doing all season, or will Romeo Crennel, and the Cleveland Browns upset the Jets and give them something to think about for 2 straight weeks.
