maybe because he doesnt make them in practice (never made them in TC when i was there) and Mangini doesnt trust him because of what he sees out of him every day (remember the coaches know more about the players than us fans, they watch them in practice everyday)..if he was a good-consistent kicker and proved it to Mangini over and over again i'm sure Mangini would trust him and he would have been in the game to kick in that situation..

So I guess you went around and scouted every single division 1 kicker that graduated last year and didnt go in the draft or got picked up by a team in free agency. How do you know that if we brought in some kid from Whosafuckin State University, that he wouldn't be any good. I mean, who was Vinatieri?...he sure as hell wasn't a 2nd round pick.
Mangini clearly seems like the coach who isnt afraid of taking a chance. Don't you think theres a good reason why Mangini is worried about kicking a 50 yarder. He's fine with kicking an onside to start the 2nd half in a 0-0 game, but the idea of Nugget kicking a 50 yarder scares him. You don't think there's a reason for that?

1)according to reports he has been hitting them from 50+ in practice
2) i don't have to scout them. we brought in someone in camp who didn't beat him out.
3) kickers are so scare that gramtica and braynat are still employed but brien isn't

Not according to VilmaTime...oh and another thing...ITS PRACTICE. He was also amazing in college like I've heard so many times. And yeah ofcourse he didn't beat him out, because the coaches and the FO are still trying to convince themselves that Nugget isnt a suckjob. And I don't care if he's unemployed I'll still take him over a 2nd round flop. Was he not the most accurate kicker in Jets history. Yes he missed the 2 field goals in the playoffs. In the same situation I think Nugget would probably miss them too.

You think if Mangnini had Vinitieri on his team he wouldn't kick that ball? Your damn right he would
When you don't have the leg strength to get a touchback....you probably don't have the leg for 47+ at a decent percentage

vilma time is wrong. i read alot of articles sayin he drilled them from 50+. the only reason u give him shit was where he was drafted. also brien was the most accurate only cause he never attempeted 50+ yarders. nugent is more accurate form less them 50 then brien was

Yes..i believe I read as well that he was hitting 50+ in practice. But something isn't right. In a 0-0 or 3-0 game...how you pass up on it twice. The trust in Nugent's leg in game time (not practice) isn't there by Mangini. There is no other reason why we are passing up these attempts

That was in the summer. Nice weather and a soft football. This is November swirling winds, dry cold air the kid just doesn't have it.
I don't think anyone is saying he's good or worth it. I mean O.K you can't kick long thats fine but what the missed P.A.T's? the 20 and 30 yarders?
C'mon... this guy is crap. I would EXPECT him gone as early as our offseason begins

How bout Mia Hamm..she kicked a 50 yard field goal with the K-Ball. Get any European soccer striker. Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, Miroslav Klose, Luca Toni, Raul, Jan Koller...I'm sure they can kick. Last time I checked they could.
