Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:43 PM) Geno was the favorite to win the Heisman this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) He was also a Top 5 pick this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) If he came out in 2012, he might have gotten drafted before RG3
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:56 PM) TEH KNICKS
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:25 PM) noway he would have been drafted before RGIII
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:00 PM) Tehhhh
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) Geno was not the favorite to win the heisman going into the year lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) you don't watch college football, stop
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:23 PM) He might not even of been in the second tier of players
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:29 PM) http://news.yahoo.com/top-10-heisman-trophy-candidates-2012-heading-season-150300441--ncaaf.html

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 PM) He was 4th according to Vegas odds in April 2012
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:56 PM) also, what a basketball game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) 4 point game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) maybe the pacers are that good
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) Barkley had 3/2 odds, Geno was 9-1
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:48 AM) It's whatever
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 10:50 AM) Manish leaving jets beat
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 10:51 AM) About time
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 11:22 AM) Was he "not even in the 2nd tier"? No. STFU
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:25 AM) Was he the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:26 AM) Or even close to the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:27 AM) Nice Manish leaving? Good shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 11:43 AM) SHJ, your boy EJ leads a very sad life
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:57 AM) haha why do you say that
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 12:03 PM) I'm friends with SHJ on Facebook and I replied "TEH KNICKS" then EJ recognized my name and started commenting saying shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 12:04 PM) He then goes "yeah and f*** the Knicks" I wanted to tell him he doesn't know what that joke is because he's banned
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:05 PM) haha
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:05 PM) what a dick

He realized he has something good going on with the Jets offense...and can possibly be even more attractive next year. Perhaps he didn't like the way Huzienga said the new head coach wouldn't get total control the way Saban had. Who knows...but it's great to shut the Phins up like that.

Hahahaha Yet another one of his and Manginis mind tricks i bet they did that on purpose just to distract them while other candidates got taken by other teams

New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, believed to be one of the front-runners for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy, withdrew from consideration for the position on Monday, league sources told ESPN.com.

The sources did not elaborate on a reason for Schottenheimer's surprising decision. Schottenheimer is the son of San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer.

One of 12 candidates interviewed by Miami officials since coach Nick Saban left the Dolphins to accept the job at the University of Alabama, Schottenheimer was among a group called back for follow-up sessions with team officials. He was to have met with Miami executives on Monday, but canceled the trip.

Some observers felt that Schottenheimer, who has been an NFL assistant for eight seasons, had the inside track to the Dolphins' job.

Over the past two days, the Dolphins met for a second time with former Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora and Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey. Club officials have not revealed the finalists for the job, said how many candidates will be granted interviews or publicly discussed a timetable for filling the position.

In his first season as a coordinator, Schottenheimer led the Jets to just a No. 25 statistical ranking in total offense. But the New York offense was better than that number indicates, and Schottenheimer, viewed as a rising star in league circles, was instrumental in resurrecting the career of quarterback Chad Pennington.

Schottenheimer, 33, was a college quarterback at Kansas (1992) and Florida (1993-96), and began his coaching career at Syracuse in 1999. He also served on the staff at Southern California in 2000. His NFL experience includes tours of duty with St. Louis (1997), Kansas City (1998), Washington (2001) and San Diego (2002-2005).

Len Pasquarelli is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com.

On Monday night, New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer withdrew his name from consideration for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy. Schottenheimer, who just completed his first season at the offensive controls in New York, was granted permission to interview for the position by the Green & White. The Jets released two statements this evening.

Brian Schottenheimer, New York Jets Offensive Coordinator:

"I have withdrawn my name from consideration for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy. I want to thank Mr. Wayne Huizenga and the Dolphins' organization for expressing an interest. I am committed to the New York Jets and also want to thank Mr. Woody Johnson, Mike Tannenbaum and Eric Mangini for allowing me the opportunity to go through this process." Eric Mangini, New York Jets Head Coach:

"Brian's creative approach on offense was an integral part of our progress in the 2006 season, and I'm pleased he will remain with the Jets to build on that progress."

he would probably had a bunch of restrictions on him as a relatively unknown and inexperienced HC and if they didnt make the playoffs next year they would be talking about how they should fire his ass but their the jerks who would have given the one year coach, keys to a cadillac, he knows there will be better jobs and he needs the experience

Eric Mangini, New York Jets Head Coach:

What really makes me really glad is the fact the Huizenga never made the choice to cut off Brian it was Brian that backed out and said no. He doesn't want to go to that train wreck of a franchise. He has unfinished business here to complete and I respect him even more now because I know he's dedicated. People want to be with Mangini. They want to play for him and coach alongside him because he's a great guy and an even better coach.

Schott has really impressed me and he's definately a standup guy. Look at the influence he's had here in just 1 year and the assest he is to Clemens. Sean Payton is reaping the rewards of Schott's hard work with Brees. I'm just so elated that he's is going to be here and he actually want's to be here although he would have been getting paid way more with them.

I've been doing some research on this whole ordeal and whispers are Tanny coughed up more dough to keep him here because he didn't want to lose him especially to a division rival. Kind of like making sure that Branch left the AFC East just to insure he's not in our division.

I've got my eye on Tannenbaum. That's one smart muthafvcka right there. That's smart business and an excellent strategy if this is true. Thank God he knows the difference between average and good coaches and players. Another great move was signing B.Thomas mid-season. He's doing a fantastic job!

Yo!

He probably pulled out for the same reason Saban took off, uncertainty in the owner's box and what the future holds in that regard.

Adios!

I have come along way but he was young and unproven and no one could blame me for stating those opinions. He showed and proved this year and hat's off to him. I guess you don't grow up with a pro NFL coach and possibly future HOFER as a dad and learn nothing.

No one can say anything bad about him and the scary part is he's still learning

There's speculation that Brian did it because Marty Schott is up for the Dolphin's position, but I dont think thats the case at all. I think...

1) Wants to try and win one with the Jets before he goes anywhere.

2) Doesn't want to go head to head vs. Belichick and Mangini a minimum 4 times a year.

So in essence, boo ya, Schotty is on board for one more season...gnarly.
