We could make a trade for Clinton Portis? The guy is great at running, catching picking up blocks and other thing. With Ladell Betts having on outstading season last year do you think Washington would be thinking of moving him? I think he would be perfect in the Green. I know Turner would be good but I don't see why we should waste draft picks on him if we have our own unproven RB that have a chance at being good. Id rather make a trade for Portis and know I am getting a great back in return, plus if Washington wanted to move him we would be the perfect place since being in the AFC we rarely play them and he wouldn't hurt them at all. Anyone agree on Portis?

IF we were to trade...I suppose I would prefer Portis...but I'm not really sure...I might rather have Turner.

However, I don't think we should be trading at all! Trading for high profile players is something you do when you think you need one more guy to make a major push for the Super Bowl...but even than I think it could be a bad move...I'm just simply not into trading for players.

If we can't get a proven RB that we know that would get the job done I wouldn't mind going with Washington.

My first reaction is that i dont think so. He really could not stay healthy last year, and I am not sure we should go in that direction. Its fairly certain that his best days are behind him.

How can his best days be behind him if he is only 24 or 25? Also he isnt really a health problem, it's not like a knee or anything serious. He hurt his shoulder the first time throwing a block and the second injury was him falling on his hand I think so no serious problems, it just depends how many draft picks it would take to get him.

My guess is that Washinton doesn't move Portis this offseason. His value right now is diminished because he had a bad, injury-plagued season. Not to mention they would look like assholes selling low on a guy that they traded one of the all-time best CBs for.

they traded bailey and a 2nd round pick for portis. however portis was coming off back to back 1500+ yard seaosn and was only 24 or 25. and it is washington

Portis is still only 25. He turned 25 like 3 or 4 months ago. Still very young.

In another offseason I would consider trading for him but IMO we can't give up any more of the 6 remaining draft picks that we have or we will end up like the Redskins did in the draft last season and miss out on a ton of young talent.

Are you guys kidding me? Portis is a top 5 back in this league. He's an amazing talent stuck on a horribly run football team from management to coaching. They aren't trading Clinton Portis but if they were I'd be all for giving up this years and next years 2nd round pick. That would be highway robbery but this is all hearsay. They'd trade Betts before they traded Clinton Portis UNLESS they were really backed up against the cap and I'm not sure how that's possible. I wouldn't be surprised but they always seem to get away with that crap.
