Reading the people's comments on there is great. Most people are sticking up for the Jets. Then you have some ass clown who says something ignorant like, "The Jets. HAHA, they suck!" Yeah well 10-6 isn't exactly sucking. When the Jets steamroll the Pats week one and hand them their asses then they'll ALL see that the Jets are the real deal... especially when we take home the AFC East division with a 1st round bye!
Ok, maybe a little bit too optimistic but I'm really hoping that Thomas Jones is legit and does serious things here. If he does this is gonna be the best team in the AFC. Check out this really cool breakdown someone gave about the AFC East.
I like this argument because it is an open debate.
I think that the toughest division in sports is the AFC East.
My Breakdown has it like this (and what do I know):
Last year the AFC East lead all divisions with 35 wins combined.
AFC North had 33 wins, AFC South had 34 wins, and AFC West had 34. No division in the NFC Division had more than 32 wins, with two divisions getting only 29 wins last season.
The AFC East was the ONLY division with (2) different teams having double-digit win totals (Pats, Jets). The Jets at 10-6 would have WON 3 other divisions.
Miami was in LAST with a 6-10 record. The only other division with that distinction was AFC South - where 4th place Houston finished 6-10.
The AFC East allowed 1126 points combined all season. No other division allowed less than 1200. Buffalo was the worst defense in the division in points allowed, and they ranked 11th in the NFL. Let me repeat that - The WORST defense in the AFC East was 11th in points allowed.
This should let everyone know that our team is the real deal. Looking at those numbers, it's impressive. We were a top 10 team in points allowed. Our defense looked scary as hell weeks 9-17. We were one of the hottest teams in Decemeber, even Beli acknowledged that. With a healthy Pennington getting to build on the knowledge he already has about the offense we're looking at a scary team. Scary efficient.
