conviction or not doesn't mean if he's guilty or not. most people still feel OJ did it and all the evidence suggested he did but he got off on a technicality cause someone tampered with evidence. he was proven guilty in the civil case however.
all the evidence proves otherwise. his own teamate claimed he was a "heavywieght in the dog fighting business" eyewitnesses seen him getting money out of his car to pay for a bet he lost cause his dogs lost a fight. he already had lied syaing he's never been there and once the fingerprints come back stating vick was there will u still say its cause he's black? i'm a minority myself (puerto rican and itialin) but i call things as i see him. i hate wehn people pull "the race card" everytime a minorty does something dumb, look at imus. he got fired for saying somehting that black comedians say all the time. micheal richards is a racist asshole and eveyone is fine when its a white guy getting punished, then a black guy does and we scream racism? no way. thats bullshit. me being an animal lover, am really disturbed that people are OK with tortuing dogs. its like murders of humans, we all hate them but another living breathing creature gets killed and its not ok to be pissed cause he's black and rich and fmaous. f*** that. they should tortue vick the way he did the dogs. he is guilty! whtere the jury convicts him or not. no was his cousin living in tehj house who is unemplyed is funding a multimillion dollar dog fighting ring but the guy who has 100 million dollar contract has nothing to do with it and no knowledge of it.
First my views on the Vick issue.
Do I personally think he was involved in dog fighting in some way shape our form, Yes
. Was he involved to the point that some in the media are saying, probabaly not. Remember if it bleeds it leads. But to some extent race does play a role even if it's just a small role in this story. What I mean by that is the so-called "Court of Public Opinion." The court of public opinion is what is calling for Vick's head right now. It just happens that many in that court of public opinion happen to be white, since they own the microphone. Where is Sharpton and Jackson on this issue (you all who have brought them up before in other threads might ask)? Well I don't know or care BUT
I doubt Dan Abrams, Nancy Grace, Sean Hannity, Paula Zahn, Bill O'Reilly, or Larry King have asked Al or Jesse to appear on their shows to talk about Vick either. So what does that tell you? Perhaps they
only want to hear from Al and Jesse during the times when the white guy is in trouble (i.e. Imus, Michael Richards, Duke lacrosse case)? I think this Vick case is the perfect example of what I have tried to explain in the Imus threads. Sharpton and Jackson are only given a microphone by the major media outlets when the major media outlets give them airtime and a microphone to speak.
Now where I agree with Amen in this is that many (not all) white people love black athletes UNTIL
they get out of place (Gary Sheffield) or are accused of doing something illeagal (Kobe Bryant). I just wonder do you guys want to judge Vick now and lock him up in prison and throw away the key? Or are you going to let the system take it's course and wait for as REAL jury to decide Vick's fate when all the edvidence has been brought to light? Are you going to rush to judgement of a fellow American or let due process take it's course? If you choose the former then I wonder what Reade, Collin, David, Kobe, and Marcus (Dixon not Vick) would think about your choice.
The comment I found intresting is:
micheal richards is a racist asshole and eveyone is fine when its a white guy getting punished, then a black guy does and we scream racism? no way. thats bullshit.
Michael Richards is a racist but not a racist asshole to the degree of a KKK member. Racism is not simple to define. Everybody is a racist whether we think so or not. Everybody is racist to some degree whether we think we
are or not. Maybe a white person wouldn't burn a cross on a black person's lawn but they might cross the street if they saw a group of young black males coming towards them. A black person may not call a white person a "honkey" but they still might exclude a white person in a social setting that is mostly black. Everybody has some racists impulses whether we think we do or not. Michael Richards was being heckled by a black man and in his fustration called the man the "N" word. Because he knew that word was the deal breaker and would instantly make the heckler as angry as he was.
I noticed this too:
its like murders of humans, we all hate them but another living breathing creature gets killed and its not ok to be pissed cause he's black and rich and fmaous.
I just wonder if you are a vegetarian than. Because cows, pigs, and chickens are just as much living breathing creatures as dogs are. Dog fighting is cruel, inhuman, and anybody who does it I also
believe should be "put in the a cage, naked, covered with pig blood, with ten hungry pitbulls unleashed on him." But we can't be hypocrites and say killing a farm animal is okay but killing a dog is not. Many of the dogs used for dog fighting have to be killed anyway after they are rescued. If you feel killing one living breathing creature is bad, than you should IMO feel the same way about ALL living breathing creatures, and that includes farm animals that are killed for food.
This Vick case is not a black and white issue (no pun intended). I will repeat are you (and this is directed towards anybody reading this) going to judge Vick now or will you let due process take it's course and let all the edvidence come to light before deciding what you believe his fate should be? I know that may be too long to wait for some of you all, but isn't that one of our rights as Americans? Isn't that one of the freedoms we are SUPPOSE
to have? Isn't that one of the things our leaders are supposedly trying to give the Iraqi people?
