Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 12:52 PM) THE KNICKS
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:21 PM) THE. KNICKS.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:43 PM) Geno was the favorite to win the Heisman this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) He was also a Top 5 pick this time last year
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:44 PM) If he came out in 2012, he might have gotten drafted before RG3
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:56 PM) TEH KNICKS
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:25 PM) noway he would have been drafted before RGIII
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:00 PM) Tehhhh
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) Geno was not the favorite to win the heisman going into the year lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) you don't watch college football, stop
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:23 PM) He might not even of been in the second tier of players
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:29 PM) http://news.yahoo.com/top-10-heisman-trophy-candidates-2012-heading-season-150300441--ncaaf.html

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 PM) He was 4th according to Vegas odds in April 2012
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:56 PM) also, what a basketball game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) 4 point game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) maybe the pacers are that good
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football

Let's suppose the Jets aren't any better than they showed us so far. Let's suppose that we don't develop a pass rush and the O Line continues to struggle. Let's suppose that the coaching staff continues to show no imagination and plays like we have to date. I know I know it can easilly turn around if we fix any one of those problem areas, but let us suppose for a minute or two.

As I look at this schedule, I can't in any way see us winning more than 5 games if everything remains the same as listed above. We have 4 games with the Fish and Bills. At best we'll split those 4 and that gives us 2 wins. The record is now 2-4. We'll probably win either the Giants or Philly game, but definitely not both and maybe not either but let's say we win one of those two. The record now is 3-5. Cincy, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Tennessee and New England are all losses which brings us to 3-10 with 3 more games to figure out. KC, The Browns & Washington are all that's left. Can we win all 3, sure, but again keeping in mind the problems listed above and the History of the Jets, we will probably beat KC and lose to the Skins and Browns which brings us to a final mark of 4-12.

Now before everyone freaks out saying we won't lose this game or that game, this is just a scenario, one of many possibilities. What I want to ask you now based on this scenario is...

What would happen in the off-season. Would Mangini lose his job, would players be traded, would we keep the 3-4 or go back to the 4-3? What position would we draft with a guaranteed top 3 pick in next year's draft? DT, DE, LB, OL, RB, QB?

Howie Long's kid is coming out as a DE and Glenn Dorsey a true stud at DT with other stud players rounding out the top 10. What would you do?

Try not to come up with excuses why this won't happen, try to play it like it will and what decisions would you make if you were the GM or owner?

I would keep the 3-4 because, it was already being established. Mangini would keep his job. A NT would be drafted, followed by a guard or right tackle. Then someone would have to be traded, Eric Barton maybe.

Keep Mangini. Keep the 3-4. Draft the best player available out of DE, OLB, and DT with our top 3 pick. And if we go with a DT, try to trade Robertson during the draft for a good pick(s).

The best I can play along is we would loose out to get the highest draft choice possible .
a leopard never changes his spot so Mangini would continue exactly as he is looking for cheap players
and releasing anybody he doesn't want at the drop of a hat. I don't think they really want a big fat NT on tyhe team. But players who can morph to any situation which where we are today waiting for the morph to materialize.

Going along with your scenario.. Mangini wouldn't lose his job and nor would he be on the hot seat to lose his job. Most coaches for the exception of Norv Turner because most coaches don't get a hold of a championship team right out the gate. It usually takes 3 to 4 years to get a team ready for that specific coach.

I would fully expect to hit the draft and hit it hard. Mangini took a step back in this years draft because we had to trade up to fill major voids. I would expect DRASTIC things to happen as far as the team is concerned. Perhaps letting loose of D.Rob and Vilma and having a good strong draft. D.T, LG, LB the first 3 taken

I would expect Mangini and Tanny to find a replacement for Sutton. ASAP!

But this is all hypothetical as I think this Sunday is our 1 st game of a 4 to five game streak. I had to throw that in there.

I think we should.

1. Keep Mangini, I think the only mistake he has made (although continuous) is give a shot to the players that Herm and Bradway left him for 1 reason. The players we all moan about being poor fits just happen to be the most expensive players against the cap.

2. We stick with the 3-4 and get a NT, we cannot be held to randsom by Robertsons contract anymore. Every 3-4 team has a big space eating NT that the whole thing revolves around.

3. I trade Vilma (it pains me to say this) for a low first rounder because by the end of this season we will be lucky to get even that. He isn't built for this defence which I am adamant we should keep. I think this is the best thing for him too. We are killing his and Robertsons careers playing 3-4 in New York.

4. Aquire an experienced 3-4 MLB to help with the grooming of Harris.

5. Try and get a guard with the vilma pick. We need some Road Graders, either that or switch to the Denver style zone blocking.

6.I think sooner or later we are going to need an upgrade at the following too.
Right Tackle (
Slot reciever (McCaerins drops on Sunday made me think of Chrebet, a slot reciever doesn't have to be a quick guy with a 40" verticle, just don't drop the damn football.)
Free Safety (Eric Coleman Kills me with his constant nodding off in Zone)
Tight End (His number rarely gets called over the full season, this might change when Clemens plays but until that time I am going to think the coaches don't feel that strongly for him)

Cause he is helping block all the time. When the ball goes his way, he comes up with it.
