Well that's what it's all about.

Forget remembering a great American and remembering how far America has come and how far America still has yet to go. As long as you got to stay home, sit around the house in your underwear while eating a bag of Dorito's and watch The Price Is Right; that's all that matters.

It really sucked for me I guess. I'm black and I had to go to class AND go to work today. Ain't that a bitch.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

Well I wasn't there, so I need not remember it. And for the record I sat around in sweat pants and a track jackey watching Nickelodeon. Maybe next time I'll be asked to be born 40 years earlier so I could have lived through and comprehended the Civil Rights movement. Shame on me.

The Civil Rights Movement is still going on today. Despite popular belief it didn't end when Dr. King died or when we got a national holiday in his honor.

Aww WettingAway, someones trying to impress the rest of the forum by making a pathetic attempt to make fun of my username. I hope you're proud of yourself. Does anyone here like you again? I'm not sure, but seriously, trying to be a bully on an internet forum? Get a life pal. Again, what do I have to comprehend? I am very happy everyone has Civil Rights and it's deserved but I could care less about MLK day except for the fact that it gets me out of school. The Civil Rights movement is not in my era. I don't shit myself over Pearl Harbor, the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of Little Big Horn, the French Revolution, the Bolshevik Revolution, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Battle of Bunkerhill, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, Operation Overlord, the Boston Tea Party, the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, the the Crusades, the Battle of New Orleans or the execution of King Louis XVI. Do all of those have historical significance? Sure...but none of them happened in my generation and the reprocussions have come and gone. So why do I have to care if I dont want to? I mean sure, some of it is fun to learn about (esp. World War II) but I dont have to know anymore than I do about each of those subjects including Martin Luther King II. Deal with it if you don't like it, or bring it up with someone who cares. Your opinion isn't the only one and I'm not sure anyone really gives a rats ass about what you think anyway.

Ignorance Is Bliss.

The sad thing is 40 years from now somebody like you will say the same thing about the 9/11 attacks, the genocide in Darfur, and the Iraq War.

2048:
"The Iraq War is not in my era. I don't shit myself over the 9/11/2001 attacks or the genocide in Darfur back during the begining of the century. Do all of those have historical significance? Sure...but none of them happened in my generation and the reprocussions have come and gone. So why do I have to care if I dont want to?"

lol @ Civil Rights being insignificant today... okay. I think it's absolutely disgusting that this is the reception Martin Luther King, Jr Day received on this forum of all places.
I don't like the direction of this post, so I'm closing it.
