That would be very surprising. I don't see who we could possibly trade for with them.

That is just stupid...you could easily send Vilma to Carolina for Jenkins straight up. The Panthers need a MLB just as much as the Saints.

Saints pick is #40 overall in round #2.

That is a HIGH PRICE for them for a guy coming off a knee injury, has a knee condition, and is requesting a new fat contract

I can only imagine a 3rd coming to us.

If it is the 40th overall.....Tannebaum should be commended

I can't imagine Jenkins would fetch that. Too many DTs on the market right now. Probably would cost us a 3rd or 4th & 5th...something to that effect. Carolina also was interested in D-Rob

The 40th overall pick might as well be a 1st rd. I'll take that anyday. Lets hope we get it.

Here we go again with this up and down cheerleader mentality, one minute, it's we're going to the SB, next minute it's oh shit we're gonna be worse than the Raiders. Shaun Rogers is an overweight bum, he's personality won't change, you see it around the league all the time. How's Charles Rogers doing in the NFL these days? How about Jonathan Sullivan, the DT that the Pats signed two years ago, oh wait he's also out of the NFL, because he has no motivation.

What difference does it make? The end result is the same in both scenerios. Maybe the Panthers would rather get a draft pick, and Tannenbaum isn't interested in giving away the high pick the Jets have.

If it's a 3rd round pick, and it still goes to the Panthers, I don't care. Vilma is damaged goods right now, you're not going to pay full price. He's got that discounted sticker on him, and you can't use coupons! Besides, I think they are looking for a conditional 3rd, which can become a second round, which I think is fair, since Vilma is recovering from an injury.

Take the green goggles off for a minute and maybe you will realize that deal would never happen.

Thanks for the Memories

Jets | Team close to sending Vilma to New Orleans?
Thu, 28 Feb 2008 20:07:58 -0800

Tom Rock, of Newsday, reports the New York Jets are close to sending LB Jonathan Vilma to the New Orleans Saints, according to two sources. The Jets will receive a conditional draft pick, likely in the 2009 NFL Draft, based on Vilma's production, according to a league source.
