Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:35 PM) last one i seen had us taking cooper, a RB, and hundley for our 1st 3 picks. not thrilled about that
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:38 PM) I don't like Gordon much. Not much of a receiver or blocker, ball security issues, tries to bounce outside too much, stuffed frequently. Gurley is in a league of his own
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:39 PM) Ray is pretty highly regarded. I'm betting he, Dupree, and Gregory will be our best options as well as edge rushers at 6, but I think that's too high for any of them
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:43 PM) Personally love Cooper, I know WR isn't our biggest need but he may be the most NFL ready guy in the Draft. If we stick to the 6th pick and Fowler, Beasley, and Mariota are gone, Cooper is the guy to get. I'd even take him over Beasley
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) i don't mind cooper. decker isn't number 1 IMO and marshall is expensive and getting old
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) and we never draft a WR high
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) but o-line and QB are huge needs. i wouldn't take o-line 6th overall, but i think our 2nd or 3rd should be o-line
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:46 PM) we need an OLB as well. if we don't land a QB i'd like to see OLB adn O-line with 2 of our top 3 picks
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:16 PM) I agree on Deck, not a true #1 and he's had a checkered history with injuries. Marshall has 2, maybe 3 productive years left, which is why Cooper is an option
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:17 PM) And I agree with you on edge rusher & OL being bigger needs, but there really isn't a lineman I'd take at 6
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:19 PM) So the way I see it, assuming Winston and Mariota are taken when we're at 6, that Fowler and Cooper are our best choices, and I'd be stunned if Fowler drops. I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if we land Cooper
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:47 PM) Apparently Tennessee wanted both of Cleveland's #1's and their 2nd rounder to move up to the #2 spot to get Mariota. Still think two 1st rounders are too much for Rivers? He makes us instant contenders and if we make a deep playoff run, it would really be this year's 1st and what equates to basically a 2nd rounder next year.
If not, get Cooper in the 1st and then grab Hundley in the 2nd and O-line in the 3rd.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:05 PM) I wouldn't be upset with Cooper, hes a stud
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:06 PM) Not sure about Ray. Dupree is rising on the draft boards, ridiculously athletic for his size
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:07 PM) Dupree is 6'4 270 and has a amazing get off and runs a 4.5
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Problem is he doesn't have big sack numbers in college, I rather draft a productive guy high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Vic Beasley is insanely athletic as well and was hugely productive in college, good bet is that Beasley will be a 10+ sack guy in the NFL
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:12 PM) Beasley should be a stud but he gets caught up hand fighting if he doesn't beat his guy quickly. He'll likely end up as an OLB but we'll see
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:15 PM) He'd be a good fit in our defense, because we could use that speed guy on the outside
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:27 AM) I'd love Rivers, but we should be able to get him without paying 2 first rounders
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:29 AM) Lot of buzz about Dupree going top 10, most mocks I see have us getting either Ray or Dupree at 6. I prefer Dupree, like you said insane athlete for his size
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:30 AM) I like Beasley as well but I have a strong feeling Washington will snag him. But he is a small dude, it'd be nice if he'd add some bulk (in Clemson reportedly played around 230)
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:11 AM) @ArifHasanNFL

.@LanceZierlein says on http://sports790.com that Shane Ray will need surgery on foot, 5 months recovery. "Could drop out of first"
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:14 AM) this should change up the top 10
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 12:16 PM) Damn that's big. If he drops out of round 1 that could be a massive bargain for whoever gets him round 2. Dupree now looks more like the edge rusher we'd get at 6

Jetsman05 Icon : (26 April 2015 - 06:58 AM) Vic Beasley is all speed. No moves, no power. Straight up the field. Could have some big games, then nothing in the next
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 April 2015 - 06:59 AM) If we don't get Mariota, we should be looking at Schreff or trading down, IMO.
Jetsman05 Icon : (26 April 2015 - 06:59 AM) A lot of good edge rushers in this draft... I wouldn't want to take Dupree that high.

Ok I don't want to fight but your logic that Chad has a higher completetion percentage because he takes 5 yard passes, and Clemens doesn't is actually a KNOCK ON CLEMENS. You can't always go deep to the covered reciever.. His article is dead on accurate.

That being said, if Clemens is this poor in camp at reading the middle, and coverage. Chad will cake walk this competition.

There is never an easy thread when the names Chad and Kellen are the in the mix.

O.K.. thats it!! were beefin' wink.gif

How is it dead on? I thought what I mentioned was stating the obvious. Someone came up with a stat survey a few months back. Chad only threw 5 balls ALL SEASON (last season ) over 25 yards. Hummm, lets see... As the defense sits prior to the snap there are about 15 to 20 yards from the line on scrimmage to the safeties. He only threw 3 balls outside of that. In essence, 95% of his balls thrown are right into the heart of the defense and thats IF, he's not dumping it 5 yards backwards to Leon or T.J in the flats.

Why did Chad have so many picks for T.D's last year?. Especially in crucial situations?.. because damn near all of his throws are right in the heart of the defense. I will agree that Chads strong suit is reading coverages, thats never been an issue. But since were talking about stats, Chads stats are skewed because he just lofts little 3 and 4 yarders around. I'm not even talking about long bombs, just nice 25,30,35 yards completions. Posts, corners, hooks or whatever. Thats what makes a defense honest. If all Chad does is hit 3 and 4 yard slants and curls not only is a good percentage of picks going for TD's (throwing into the heart of the defense) but thats what is going to get Cotch,Coles and anyone else for that matter KILLED.

I can tell your a Chad supporter and thats cool but lets not turn a bilnd eye to facts. I personally think Kellen being on this team hurts him. Chads been the starter coming out of camp and I'm sure (for the most part) the playbook is catered to Chad. Unfortuately.. Kellen isn't Chad. Kellen needs more of an open offense but how hard is it to gauge what plays to call when Chad and Kellen are switching reps in camp...

I don't have the answers but fact is fact. I honestly can't stand to watch Chad in there. As much as I admire the guy, I just don't have it me to be lullabyed by Chads insanely frustrating drop offs all game. Recievers get hurt with his style of play. As was the case with these percentages.. Clemens never had the luxury of having a healthy Coles when he got his chance, so even further those stats are skewed. Cotchery is just not a #1 WR type guy. Clemens was throwing to Cotchery,McCareins,Baker and Wallace Wright.. Having Coles out there would have done wonders for him, as defenses would have to compensate for number 87 being out there, which would open up other players as well as give him a # 1 WR type of target.

I Just don't know what else to say. We've been down this road over and over again and I can't make it anymore clearer then this. If what I wrote isn't pretty self explanitory then I think I should just wash my hands with this topic FOR GOOD.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

Cimini is a flip-flopper anyway. Next week he'll have a pro-Clemens argument. We saw the way he juggled the draft chatter. Every day it was a new article about who the Jets love and who we'll pick. I hit the snooze when it comes to his opinions.

As for the original point about Clemens not seeing the wide open guy, that's something that comes with experience. The article claims that the defense's coverage collapsed. So he likely read the defense and bypassed a guy he assumed would be covered. It's a flaw anyway you slice it, but it's not one that I'd expect to define his career. Especially if it's just a practice walk-through.

Stats lie anyway. Like Dubb said, it's not tough to get high completion percentages when you're basically shoveling the ball out to the flats. Give me a player that gives us a fighting chance when the game is on the line every single Sunday.

Football isn't like Baseball where the statistics pretty much tell the whole truth. You have to WATCH football games to see what is happening. Chad's high completion percentage doesn't help when he throws passes 2 yards shy of the 1st down marker on 3rd down. It doesn't help when his pass takes so long to get there our recievers are routinely getting lit up. It doesn't help when he can't throw to the sidelines because the CB's are just waiting to pick 6 it. I'm not sure if Clemens is the answer, but i'll take my chances with a NFL caliber QB arm who is learning over an NFL caliber brain that physically can't perform.

How many wide open WRs did Chad miss last year? I remember a whole bunch. Don't get caught up in TC. Chad is one of the best when there is zero pressure. When you pressure Chad he falls apart. Why do you think Chad is awful in the playoffs?

....although I couldn't help but notice that Kellen Clemens missed a wide-open receiver in a minicamp practice. Explaining a defensive breakdown on a "bunch" formation, Mangini noted how the defense left a receiver all alone in the middle of the field, about 12 yards from the QB. Clemens apparently didn't see him and threw somewhere else for an incompletion.

In the immortal words of Chris Matthews:

"HA! HA! HA!"

Unless Kellen makes some serious improvement, this team's Chad's again.

I hate this shit too, BUT....

it's really one of the only things to talk about, so why not just let the people who care enough to go back and forth with each other? Like S-Dubb said, you don't have to click.

i hear you beanz, but it was talked to death. we'll have plenty more debates on this when the TC and the season starts. i can picture it now with fans of both QBs clamoring over every positive thing one does and nitpicking the negatives. and then when the season starts (while Chad is on the bench) his supporters will argue that Chad would have seen this open receiver, and would've made that pass. i'm not against the debates, i'm just saying we're going in circles until we have more to discuss than mini-camp.

I dunno why any QB would come out their junior year, there are very few great junior QBs that make it in the NFL. Besides, it's better to have that degree if you turn out to be a bust.

Well if Georgia somehow wins the SEC(doubtful) he will be gone, I don't even think there will be a competition with him to be the #1 QB taken. Maybe Curtis Painter?
