*** Important Division Tiebreak Scenarios *** Proceed With Caution ***

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

... gang, with how this team has performed over the past 5 games they are giving us more and more reason to believe it will never become an issue ...

... but ...

... as we are nearing the home stretch of the year let's not get overconfident, if we do slip here are where our area of concern lies ...

... NE is very much alive & Miami is still a legit threat as well ...

... because ...

The 1st 3 Division Tiebreak Procedures are as Follow

1. Head-to-Head
2. Division Record
3. Common Games

... many people forget the common games & go directly to 4. Conference Record ...

... we have 2 division games left - home against both Buffalo & Miami ... it is very important that if we slip it not be one of these 2 games (particularly the Miami game) because if we lose to Miami our head to head advantage against them is now removed ... if we drop either of these 2 games our division tiebreak lead is erased ... which brings us to our danger zone - the Common Games 3rd tiebreaker ...

... as of now the Common Games Tiebreak outside of our division falls out as follows ...

NE.... - 4-1
Miami - 4-1
NYJ - 2-2

... so ...

... these are two very legit possibilities that could happen (and there are many lesser ones when broken down further) ...

... 1. if we drop one division game & NE wins out they beat us on the 3rd tiebreaker ...

... 2. if we drop both our division games & Miami wins out they beat us on the 3rd tiebreaker ...

... this is just an FYI to everyone who may not be aware of the realistic tiebreaker concerns ...

... this point is a great reinforcer of the importance of taking care of business within your division ...

... i'm sure Mangini as a disciple of the Parcells coaching tree with have his team well aware of this & prepared to FINISH our divisional games ...

... Favre "The Old Warrior" has placed this franchise on his shoulders and is marching us up the mountain towards Vince Lombardi glory ...

... the next two steps up that mountain will be Denver home & SF away ...

... but the most important remaining steps bfore we reach the postseason will be Buffalo and Miami in the meadowlands ...

thats only head to head. in a 3 way tie it goes divison record followed by conference record. for a wild card 3 way tie it goes conference record. unfortunately all of our loses are from AFC teams (OAK, NE, SD)

its sad we lost to 2 of the shittiest teams on our schedule (SD and Oak)
Get it done MT

Anyone else notice that we won all our division games on the road this season? And our only home loss was against the Pats. We may finish 5-1, I like it.

Yep. It is very important we close out against Buffalo and Miami because the Pats only have Buffalo left and are only one game below us in division and conference standings.
I believe the Jets will have a better record anyway but I dont want the Patsies to have any chance of getting a chance at a home field game if they make the playoffs.I dont even want them in the playoofs but odds are they will get in too

Good post. Couldn't agree more although neither NE or Miami will win out.
