ganggreen2003 Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:52 PM) Week 5 Bye after the London Game against the Dolphags
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) Rivers is likely going to Tennessee. Would LOVE to have him here but we likely won't make the trade. I'd easily give this year and next year
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) 's first rounder for him
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 11:03 AM) IMO that's a steep price. I would swap this years first and a conditional 1st next year. Assuming we make the AFC Championship. That would be a 28-32nd pick. Otherwise a second.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:07 PM) Yes 2 1st is a lot
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:10 PM) draft is next week, pumped
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:02 PM) What are thoughts on getting a RB in round 1? McShay's newest mock has us taking Gurley at 6. I don't think we should take him that high, but if we trade down and he's available I'd love to snag him, ACL and all. He's got an unreal skill set that, once healthy, will translate readily to the NFL. We're not getting a QB this year without paying a king's ransom, and unless we pay a ransom for a top guy I say ignore QB. I don't want us to take a Hundley or Petty type in the 2nd or 3rd round when we need other pieces (edge rush, OL)
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:09 PM) We can probably get Gordon in the second. I would pass at 6. If QB is not available a pass rusher will be. Our biggest needs are QB Pass rusher and Oline.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:34 PM) any thourghts on shane ray? i see a lot of mocks have us drafting him
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:35 PM) last one i seen had us taking cooper, a RB, and hundley for our 1st 3 picks. not thrilled about that
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:38 PM) I don't like Gordon much. Not much of a receiver or blocker, ball security issues, tries to bounce outside too much, stuffed frequently. Gurley is in a league of his own
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:39 PM) Ray is pretty highly regarded. I'm betting he, Dupree, and Gregory will be our best options as well as edge rushers at 6, but I think that's too high for any of them
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:43 PM) Personally love Cooper, I know WR isn't our biggest need but he may be the most NFL ready guy in the Draft. If we stick to the 6th pick and Fowler, Beasley, and Mariota are gone, Cooper is the guy to get. I'd even take him over Beasley
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) i don't mind cooper. decker isn't number 1 IMO and marshall is expensive and getting old
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) and we never draft a WR high
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) but o-line and QB are huge needs. i wouldn't take o-line 6th overall, but i think our 2nd or 3rd should be o-line
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:46 PM) we need an OLB as well. if we don't land a QB i'd like to see OLB adn O-line with 2 of our top 3 picks
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:16 PM) I agree on Deck, not a true #1 and he's had a checkered history with injuries. Marshall has 2, maybe 3 productive years left, which is why Cooper is an option
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:17 PM) And I agree with you on edge rusher & OL being bigger needs, but there really isn't a lineman I'd take at 6
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:19 PM) So the way I see it, assuming Winston and Mariota are taken when we're at 6, that Fowler and Cooper are our best choices, and I'd be stunned if Fowler drops. I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if we land Cooper
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:47 PM) Apparently Tennessee wanted both of Cleveland's #1's and their 2nd rounder to move up to the #2 spot to get Mariota. Still think two 1st rounders are too much for Rivers? He makes us instant contenders and if we make a deep playoff run, it would really be this year's 1st and what equates to basically a 2nd rounder next year.
If not, get Cooper in the 1st and then grab Hundley in the 2nd and O-line in the 3rd.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:05 PM) I wouldn't be upset with Cooper, hes a stud
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:06 PM) Not sure about Ray. Dupree is rising on the draft boards, ridiculously athletic for his size
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:07 PM) Dupree is 6'4 270 and has a amazing get off and runs a 4.5
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Problem is he doesn't have big sack numbers in college, I rather draft a productive guy high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Vic Beasley is insanely athletic as well and was hugely productive in college, good bet is that Beasley will be a 10+ sack guy in the NFL
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:12 PM) Beasley should be a stud but he gets caught up hand fighting if he doesn't beat his guy quickly. He'll likely end up as an OLB but we'll see
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:15 PM) He'd be a good fit in our defense, because we could use that speed guy on the outside
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:27 AM) I'd love Rivers, but we should be able to get him without paying 2 first rounders
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:29 AM) Lot of buzz about Dupree going top 10, most mocks I see have us getting either Ray or Dupree at 6. I prefer Dupree, like you said insane athlete for his size
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:30 AM) I like Beasley as well but I have a strong feeling Washington will snag him. But he is a small dude, it'd be nice if he'd add some bulk (in Clemson reportedly played around 230)
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:11 AM) @ArifHasanNFL

.@LanceZierlein says on http://sports790.com that Shane Ray will need surgery on foot, 5 months recovery. "Could drop out of first"
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:14 AM) this should change up the top 10
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 12:16 PM) Damn that's big. If he drops out of round 1 that could be a massive bargain for whoever gets him round 2. Dupree now looks more like the edge rusher we'd get at 6
MikeGangGree... Icon : (24 April 2015 - 09:40 PM) TEH RANGERS
santana Icon : (24 April 2015 - 11:32 PM) TEH WIZ
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:57 AM) Teh Suarez
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:58 AM) Vic Beasley is all speed. No moves, no power. Straight up the field. Could have some big games, then nothing in the next
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:59 AM) If we don't get Mariota, we should be looking at Schreff or trading down, IMO.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:59 AM) A lot of good edge rushers in this draft... I wouldn't want to take Dupree that high.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:00 AM) Until next time fellas!
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 01:19 PM) Helloooooooooo
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 01:19 PM) Bueller

Some observations about the game:

The Broncos clearly did their homework, studying the film of the New England game. The following is two glaring weaknesses of the Jets:

1. OFFENSE: The Jets perimeter game is lacking. Coles and Cotchery simply CANNOT get separation from corners in one on one coverage. Consequently, Favre has to restrain himself from throwing his beloved go routes because they get picked off EVERYTIME. This deficiency clearly stunts the potential of the rest of the offense. This game is all about mismatches. Other than Keller and Washington, we have a difficult time creating them. Clowney obviously does not have an adequate grasp of the offense or he would be on the field. The Jets love that empty backfield shotgun formation. Teams rarely blitz Favre in this situation. If I was a defensive coordinator, I'd blitz the shit out of him. Why? The Jets don't have a blitz beater outside. In fact, I rarely see a safety roll over to either Coles or Cotchery on go routes.

2. DEFENSE: Contrary to popular belief, you CAN run on the Jets. It must, however, be from the SPREAD formation. The Jets do not have the talent to combat underneath routes run by tight ends and running backs. Once again, we were tortured by slip screens, quick outs and short square in routes. Also, we have a weak pass rush. That's right, you read correctly. The Jets amassed a lot of sacks early in the season via blitzes. They do not have one guy that can get to the quarterback on his own. Ghoulston was suppose to be that guy. He has not produced.

For the past couple of weeks, I kept quiet. After the Tennessee win, I was afraid the Jets would get fat on their recent success. The New York papers barely discussed the Broncos this week. It was all about the playoffs. Bad sign right there.

Now we travel cross country to San Francisco. It will be imperative for the Jets to get up early and ride Jones the whole game. Be worried...be very worried.

You hit the nail on the head Camenzind! I am not feeling too confident about any of the 4 remaining games, i am thinking 2-2 finish, wildcard loss and a return to comfort as a jets fan

today brought everyone down to reality as to what this jets tream really is. the denver broncos showed us all what a playoff team looks like. This is what the ny media gets for even thinking they could mention the jets and super bowl in the same sentence.

Look we can't win them all. I love how all the darksiders rear their ugly heads after a loss.

Why should we be afraid of the 9ners?.. I'm not worried at all. The niners are going to be dealing with a pissed off Jets team. They should be worried. David Harris will be back.. The Pats loss makes this loss more tolerable.

I mostly agree, I don't look past any west coast trip but I think they will get things in order this week, this is their first loss since mid October, the sky is not falling. NO loss is good but I think the timing of this one is.

It never changes. When we win, everyone's thinking Super Bowl while complaining that the media's hyping us up too much. And when we lose, everyone's thinking season's over and still complaining about media.

We lost, it happens... winning 7 out of 9 including an overtime win versus a team we can never beat.. as well as beating—wait, no—killing the only undefeated team left [both on the road] isn't a sign we're good?

No, we get beat in a sloppy game and that's it—pack it in!

It doesn't really matter none, we could have won 9 in a row and lost to the Dolphins to end the season, and even if it didn't mean anything I'd be reading a thread that says we're not going anywhere in the playoffs cuz blah, blah, blah.

When this happens I'm really reminded of a guy who goes to the same sports bar as me. When Leon's running a kick back for a TD, or Favre's throwing a 50 yard TD pass, he just sits quietly, almost like hes uninterested.

But as soon as there's a Jets penalty or an Int, this guy's flipping shit like he owns the team. Some people need to invert their attitudes.

We lost to a team that played better than us. Now we need to go to San Fran and play better than another team, and as extremely crazy as it will sound to 75% of the Jets fans out there, I'm going to root for the Jets to succeed, while expecting them to do so at the same time.

Not stressing that much.

1. Weather was a game changer
2. We needed a loss to WAKE UP the team and bring them down a notch....in case they were getting high on themselves
3. David Harris is back next week....should help shore up run D
4. Walked away healthy from a poor condition field
5. Will make us work hard in the next 4 games
6. Pats got the clocked cleaned by Pitt
7. We play San Fran, Seattle & a fading Buffalo at home in the next 3. Will allow us to continue to fine tune
8. While a big weakness was exposed.....how many teams have the likes of a Marshall, Royal, Stokley, Scheffler, & Graham....not many. I am ok with it

Bottom line...we ARE a good team. Just need to refocus for the playoff run. Everyone has a clunker in them...we just had one. No reason to freak....just continue to practice hard and game plan for next week. This team HAS the ability to go far.

that was pretty much it. i'm imagining we spent a lot of time this week thinking about slowing down the pass. in return, the run game was able to get going against us too.

We're simply a bad team in the secondary.

and people getting mad that we couldn't sack a quarterback that's been sacked the least in the NFL? sometimes something has to give.

There was a Gholston sighting today though.. and his pass rush resulted in a 30+ yard completion on the run. he took a bad angle. But the gloom and doom here is pretty bad. it's kind of why I hate coming to the forums after a game. guaranteed to see some members that had nothing to say when we were winning. that's nothing personal either, Camenzind. I think you're a great member here.

But it's like clock work. People that aren't around all week pop up on Sunday to make a post after an interception, or a loss, or anything negative. it's just not fun.

Pretty much.. Wheres the love when we stopming the titans and beating the Pats? In back to back games? I'm starting to see a tread as well.

I try and keep my bad mouthing to the chatroom myself ((Because hey everyone has to vent dammit!))but honestly after a piss poor performace you are gonna have miserable fans that is clockwork on any team.

We knew our secondary is having problems and it would show this week. It did so I don't see why people are so upset about it. Cutler had a GREAT game with this weather but you could see easy catches dropped on both sides. Just like I had to tell my wife today while she was complaining today: Holy shit woman we already won twice as many games as last season and we are still on the road to the playoffs and a possible division title!

Cheer up Jets fans and get off your high horses! Every team has holes in it and we just got outplayed today. Next week we will tear it up and you will all have to complain about how our prevent defese gave up 21 points to let SF pull within 14! drinks.gif

You guys would not be happy if we went 13-3 every year. In those losses, you would find so many weaknesses it would make you miserable. Bottom line: we played a more determined opponent and don't forget that they get paid too!
