So I said OK come get me nad bring me to the court house. (they are required in AZ to do so if requested). Needless to say I was excused.

Obviously. He's chad 2.0 IMO and we have other holes on this team. Kellen wouldve done fine given that he actually has a o- line now and a running and COULDVE gotten new sure handed weapons if we didn't trade away our first and second round picks that where someone like maclin or britt or nicks couldve been picked. Hopefully sanchez won't take 2years to be NFL ready. Basically I think a main reason why this was done is to sell those damn psls.

I couldnt agree with you more, especially on the Chad part. I apologize for my statement about the giants clobbering sanchez in the preseason im just angry, but i still think it was a terrible day yesterday and all i can do is hope that sanchez somehow becomes something other than what hes displayed, because if we get the qb hes shown he is, this is a MAJOR bust that could cripple the franchise for years.

true but we would still have no QB. the jets haven't used a top 10 pick on a QB in forever and it shows. last franchise QB we had was namath. snachez can be the QB we need. in the end it was the smart move

1. Leon Washington is a better version of McCoy. If we were looking at RB....we needed bigger.

2. Maclin : was never sold on him.

I agree you build your team through the draft BUT

1. We only gave up 1 pick...a 2nd rounder

2. Teams who build through the draft......still need a franchise QB. We took our shot today at one. If we already had a franchise QB on the team.....then I am all for keeping or stockpiling picks

Personally I think people put to much stock into "building a team through the draft" or the proverbial "crapshoot".. It really all depends on the scouting department and such. There are many teams that stay stagnant. If you look at the Cards they drafted well the past 5 years but they didn't get over the hump until they got Warner.

What I'm ultimately saying is that is has to be a culmination of both.

A friend of mine brought up a good point. "NO team in the NFL paying players salaries should be 30million over the cap." and he's on the money. If your team isn't winning championships and getting to title games and you have large cap room somethings wrong. The money is there to make your team better.

Signing F.A's is great for a ball club because it gives you a chance to win early on while grooming youngsters in the process. A successful team does BOTH.

Along with the draft picks? from this year and last. Their drafting and signing well.

True. good teams build through the draft and free agency. the eagles and pats and colts are perfect examples, but all 3 struck gold with a franchise QB they drafted!!!! only 2 teams have a franchise QB that they didn't draft. saints got lucky that brees becuase available and bears gave up 2 1st rounders for cutler.

The bottom line is that the best strategy is the one that works. Whether its the draft or free agency, it only matters how the guy plays. If Sanchez develops into the franchise QB then this was a phenomenal move. Stop crucifying the guy before he plays a down.

MT thinks this is our Qb of the future, just like he thought Revis would be a shutdown CB, Harris a dominant LB, and Keller a go to TE, good enough for me.
