Honest to God, I could use another Subway Series, win or lose. Helluva lot better than either Sox team.
But we expect more because we have gotten more than all, it's fact. 26 World Championships is more than any team, face facts, so that's why we have high expectations, and that does give us a right to look down on everyone else.

Well if you look down you wont see the Red Sox, make all the excuses and references to the past that you would like, but they're above you.

In the last 10 years we've won more than any one else, that has to count for something. In the last 5 we've gone into more than any other team.

And that is the best point anyone has made about the Yankees yet, were not in first, Wildcard or Division....Now is when you have to see what the Yankees can do, we were 9 games out of .500 and the divison once, now were 3.5. Instead of other teams having to play catch-up and we can afford to lose a lotta games tward the end of the season, we can't. We need to sweep the Sox when they come here, we need to tak 2outta3 from Oakland now, thats how it is, we need to sweep or win every siersies we playin untill we have have a 5 game lead, will we get there, I doubt it, I think the Yankees will be tied, that right tied with the Red Sox on October 3rd(and we both lead WC) But Yankees have tio make up a rain delayed game in Baltimore, and the Sox need to make up a Rain Delayed game with ChiSox at Fenway, and I think that'll decide your winner, if not, Tiebreaker, like theway Bucky Dent wanted it(lo 1978-Yankees were 12 out at all star break, tied the sox and Bucky Dent hit a homer, we went on to win it all)

Not as a Mets fan, but as a baseball fan, I do not think the Yankees will make the playoffs. Plain and simple they have no pitching. Rivera is like the only guy on the whole staff worthy of being a Yankee at this point. Just to defend myself now I don't think the Mets will make it. They won't b/c they have no offense and no closer. the EXACT opposite reasons. Hey combine the two team's strength (Mets: Pitching staff, speed, defense. Yankees: Offense, Bullpen) and you have a perfect team!

Just in case you two cared HermIsMyHero and JetsOhFive, I found a few David Wright rookie cards and a few Ryan Howard rookie cards I found. Those two have bright looking futures.

Nicely done nom. I'm not a card collector but if I was I'd be jealous. Ryan Howard definately looks to be a stud, but David Wright looks to be a legend. Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but I feel like he and Reyes may be invaluable to the Mets for many years to come. It's as if David is the guy I always thought I woiuld be for ther Mets. A legenbd and a savior. I was a child so we always invision ourselves as saviors for our favorite clubs, but I'd settle for David Wright in my stead as long as he gets the job done.

Daid Wrihgt is a helluva fielder, and is still a hitter. Howard is a hitter, not quite a fielder, no offense JetsOhFive.
So Herm, woulda you like to take A-Rod for Wright and JetsOhFive o you want Giambi for Howard? Be jerks be jerks be jerks

Wait, wasn't this thread supposed to be calling for Mets fans? First we talk about that, then about general baseball, and now baseball cards. Good job MR. MODERATOR JETSOHFIVE! You're gonna be replaced in 9-10 years!

I never seem to care where a conversation goes. That's what makes them interesting. The progression of the conversation. But no I would not take A-rod for Wright, I prefer youth over established talent. I think we should start the Reyes or Jeter conversation again. I still take Reyes b/c of his youht and seemingly limitless potential. The walks and average will come in time. Jeter is simply clutch and consistant. Still a great debate.

Jeter vs. Reyes? Jeter vs. Reyes? Is that a question to ask who is who is that a comparison to see who's better?
Derek Jeter is just amazing, he puts more heart into playing the game of baseball. He dives into the stands for a foul ball, not too many other people do that. He is quite possibly the best shortstop we've seen in over a decade. Reyes should first off prove me something before I dare put his name within the likes of Jeter.
