Couple differences I see..
Vince Young, in his first season, proved he was the athlete and competitor he showed he was in the Nat'l Championship game. I don't know what the fork happened after that, but some kind of random off the field/on the field drama has him on the sidelines. It's because of guys like VY that Sanchez' stock rose so much just because of character and poise.
..and as for Gholston -- its very different for a player other than a QB to be a workout warrior. I don't know if a QB can BE a workout warrior. VG got drafted at #6 because of an outstanding bench press (he and Jake Long topped out at 37 reps) and the fact that he beat Jake Long whenever Ohio State met Michigan. Beat writers (and even Gholston himself) have said that Gholston was an inadequate fit for Eric Mangini's read & react defense and a perfect fit for Rex Ryan's attack defense. Anyways, my main point is, the jury is still out on any guy that was drafted only a year prior. 'Specially one drafted #6.
