You can't say same old jets when we're playing in the AFC title game. we need another DB. Revis shutdown teams with one star DB. Colts got 3 star besides Reggie wayne. There's only one Revis. We need another one. Coleman must go. Lito is average.

We played in the AFC Championship game. That's change enough. Next year looks bright. This loss is gonna be painful but in no way can this season be counted as "same old."

Every team before they became champs got punched in their mouth. How many years was Peyton labeled a choker?

Nope. Same old Jets would have meant us finding a way to lose in Week 17 to the Bengals.

No we just got outplayed by a team that has better and more experienced players, it's as simple as that. The Jets had more heart, the Colts just had better players.

Hopefully we'll get a pass rusher this off-season with a healthy Jenkins and Washington, and it'll be a different result next year.

Looks like we have a winner at QB, he has played well this postseason and didn't show any nerves when many rookie QB do. He played the best game I've seen out of a rookie QB in the AFC Championship game, Flacco and Big Ben both did bad.

Okay granted...perhaps its time we should look into scoring second half points in AFC Championship games...but hey, as a 9-7 team, we made it here. I don't know whats happening next year but if it's uncapped then theres no reason we shouldn't have the league's top defense again added to a more experienced QB as well as Shonn Greene. Lets get that division back from New England to start with. Go Jets.

If this was the "same ole' Jets", I would have never watched the game then. This Jets team is by far no way near those Ole' same dam teams of old. The future is bright, the foundation is set, I believe !!

With all apologies to Dubb who locked this topic .. and I really don't want to perpetuate the negativity that the 'Same Old Jets' implies .. but I feel like if I don't get this off my chest I might just explode ...

I know we should be happy with the run we just had. It was a great one towards the end, and the opening was pretty sweet too!! With lots of reasons to believe we may be onto something. Its been a season that I will certainly celebrate in retrospect ...

Yet Monday morning brought that old familiar pain crashing back. The pain of coming so far, so close, after soooo long! Until that pain is replaced by the joy it must feel like to win, a joy we actually felt agonizingly close again this year, I have to agree. Its the Same Old Jets.

Not that its been all bad to be the S. O. J. There have been good moments ... hell there have been some great moments ... we all have our faves. And to say that I will ever give up on my team would be blasphemous. And to think I won't get that same excitement, like a kid on Christmas morning, when the next 'game day' comes, foolish. I love this team, LOVE em! Love em like God loves a drunk. We keep watching him come so close, only to fall down and yet we keep hoping and praying he"ll find the strength to get up and find his way home.

Until we reach that 'home'. Until they actually win a title, give us some reason to believe. They'll always be the Same Old Jets.

That said .. I'll be the first guy on my feet .. and the loudest guy in the .. well I cant say stadium anymore .. they priced me outta there .. so I guess I'll be the loudest guy in my house. And if any vaGiants fan were to start some shit with me he'd be messing with the wrong Jets fan. C'Mon guys .. lets not wait another 11 years before we get back here again.

J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS!! JETS!!!

I'm gonna leave this topic open until tomorrow .. so those who want to flame me .. may do so ...

I'll be the first to flame.

SOJ is so long gone bro. Speaking of perpetuate, the people who cry SOJ are the same people keeping it around. This is what I don't understand. This isn't the mud bowl or the fake spike. This isn't Herm in 04-05 playing not to lose. It's funny, how in the hell can people even mention SOJ right now?.. we lost to a awesome football team that should have gone perfect. They beat 14 teams straight and against one of the best Q.B's MAYBE EVER! This isn't like losing to some scrub team. I hate the loss but damn man, we had a great run with a rookie Q.B and a rookie head coach and defense learning a new system. How can SOJ possibly even enter the brain at this time?

You know that familiar feeling your talking about crazy?... well I have an unfamiliar feeling right now. You know, a confidence in my team, an identity that I usually don't have with my team. I see a team on the rise. I see a team with swag and with brashness. A team that (IMO) will always be in the thick of it as long as we have Rex as coach. A defense that will only get better and a franchise Q.B on the verge of becoming into his own.

Man, I really truly deeply hate the SOJ garbage. It's a cancer and it has no place with todays Jets. SOJ doesn't make the AFC championship. SOJ doesn't have the top defense. SOJ doesn't have what it takes for deep playoff runs because SOJ would LOSE and LOSE IN AWFUL FASHION.

I'm sorry to say this but the young Jets generation is going to be the cure for SOJ because the older guys who still marinate this concept are killing it for everyone else. The win against the Chargers is one of our biggest wins of all time. How can anyone say SOJ right now.

if the mantra is superbowl or SOJ then count me out because in all honesty, thats the silliest thing I've ever heard.

I've never been more proud of my team. I've never been more proud to wear my green then right now. Look at the 2 guys Rex basically hand picked. Mark and Greene. Rex is going to bring in tough, smart gritty players into this organization. When people were calling us dead in Cinci they won, they were calling for our head in S.D and we won. We went to Indy and the injury bug hit. We had Ihedigbo at corner with Stick and Lito and Lowery all ailing.

Bro SOJ has never been more dead.

We've had great runs before .. one of em with the affor mentioned Herm .. he took us to the post season as a rookie HC with a young QB .. then what happened? SOJ

Fake spike .. OK .. then we beat em to go to the playoffs (86 I think?) then what happened? SOJ

How can it enter my brain? well .. as I said until we win .. we will live with the ghosts of the past

I hope you are right .. and I agree there are plenty of signs that point to this being different .. but right now .. we won nothing but the 29th pick in the draft .. last week was so amazing here in the city Jets fans wearing their green with PRIDE!! (I still am .. BTW) .. people spontaneously starting the J E T S chant .. and not taunting me by ending with suck suck suck .. it was great .. the skyline lit up in green and white .. I thought I was gonna burst with pride at the Times Square rally .. but as I said on Monday .. its the SOJ

Sack exchange .. 86 .. SOJ

If it was up to the fans .. us old guys would have stomped out that patsies flame long before it started .. if it was up to us old guys .. dan marino would be working at a gay car wash somewhere down in florida .. it aint up to us .. we've been there every Sunday .. early .. for years .. some of em good .. some of em miserable .. but I never missed a kickoff in my time going to the games ... and when its time to get up and yell and scream and pray .. Im the first guy outta my seat .. and more often than not .. the last guy to admit its over .. so please .. don't blame me .. I'm just rooting with all my might and tired of ending up with a broken heart .. SOJ

Couldn't agree more here .. I love this team .. I think I may have mentioned that once or twice before .. I believe this team with this defense and coaching staff and our QB who is only gonna get better .. will lead us to lofty goals somewhere down the line .. but today .. SOJ
