azjetfan Icon : (21 April 2015 - 09:52 AM) He is a good QB and I would love to have him. However IMO our 6 is not good value for us. Not to mention if he hates the idea of LA what is he going to think of NY? Contract situation would have to be worked out prior to trade as well. Extreme long shot to land Rivers. My money says we are more likely to land Brees.
azjetfan Icon : (21 April 2015 - 09:53 AM) which is still a very long shot
Chaos Icon : (21 April 2015 - 10:46 AM) he may just hate ownership. LT's comments yesterday was interesting.
Chaos Icon : (21 April 2015 - 10:47 AM) “I personally don’t think so,” Tomlinson said. “I really think this is a situation where Philip Rivers wants to move on. The reason why I think that and the reason why I feel like that is the Chargers have already approached Philip about doing another contract and he declined it. He doesn’t want anything to do with it; he didn’t even want to talk about another contract with the San Diego Chargers. That tells me that he’s thinking about moving on.”

“You never want to trade your franchise quarterback,” Tomlinson said, “that’s never the case. However, in this situation they might have no choice but to do so because I don’t know if Philip [Rivers] wants to be there anymore. I think he’s lost confidence in the organization. He’s seeing a lot of changes going on and the L.A. thing is valid; him not wanting to go to L.A., that is very valid, I can see that. So no, it doesn’t make sense to move on from Philip because he’s a franchise quarterback and he still has three to four very good years left.”
Chaos Icon : (21 April 2015 - 10:47 AM) missed the LA line. nvm. guess that is a legit concern.
Mr_Jet Icon : (21 April 2015 - 03:57 PM) He doesn't want to play for a franchise based in Los Angeles, but he'd be okay with playing for one based in New York City?
azjetfan Icon : (21 April 2015 - 04:28 PM) That's the point we have all been making.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:05 PM) Jets vs colts Monday night week2
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:09 PM) Jets open at home against the browns
ganggreen2003 Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:52 PM) Week 5 Bye after the London Game against the Dolphags
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) Rivers is likely going to Tennessee. Would LOVE to have him here but we likely won't make the trade. I'd easily give this year and next year
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) 's first rounder for him
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 11:03 AM) IMO that's a steep price. I would swap this years first and a conditional 1st next year. Assuming we make the AFC Championship. That would be a 28-32nd pick. Otherwise a second.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:07 PM) Yes 2 1st is a lot
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:10 PM) draft is next week, pumped
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:02 PM) What are thoughts on getting a RB in round 1? McShay's newest mock has us taking Gurley at 6. I don't think we should take him that high, but if we trade down and he's available I'd love to snag him, ACL and all. He's got an unreal skill set that, once healthy, will translate readily to the NFL. We're not getting a QB this year without paying a king's ransom, and unless we pay a ransom for a top guy I say ignore QB. I don't want us to take a Hundley or Petty type in the 2nd or 3rd round when we need other pieces (edge rush, OL)
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:09 PM) We can probably get Gordon in the second. I would pass at 6. If QB is not available a pass rusher will be. Our biggest needs are QB Pass rusher and Oline.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:34 PM) any thourghts on shane ray? i see a lot of mocks have us drafting him
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:35 PM) last one i seen had us taking cooper, a RB, and hundley for our 1st 3 picks. not thrilled about that
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:38 PM) I don't like Gordon much. Not much of a receiver or blocker, ball security issues, tries to bounce outside too much, stuffed frequently. Gurley is in a league of his own
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:39 PM) Ray is pretty highly regarded. I'm betting he, Dupree, and Gregory will be our best options as well as edge rushers at 6, but I think that's too high for any of them
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:43 PM) Personally love Cooper, I know WR isn't our biggest need but he may be the most NFL ready guy in the Draft. If we stick to the 6th pick and Fowler, Beasley, and Mariota are gone, Cooper is the guy to get. I'd even take him over Beasley
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) i don't mind cooper. decker isn't number 1 IMO and marshall is expensive and getting old
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) and we never draft a WR high
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) but o-line and QB are huge needs. i wouldn't take o-line 6th overall, but i think our 2nd or 3rd should be o-line
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:46 PM) we need an OLB as well. if we don't land a QB i'd like to see OLB adn O-line with 2 of our top 3 picks
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:16 PM) I agree on Deck, not a true #1 and he's had a checkered history with injuries. Marshall has 2, maybe 3 productive years left, which is why Cooper is an option
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:17 PM) And I agree with you on edge rusher & OL being bigger needs, but there really isn't a lineman I'd take at 6
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:19 PM) So the way I see it, assuming Winston and Mariota are taken when we're at 6, that Fowler and Cooper are our best choices, and I'd be stunned if Fowler drops. I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if we land Cooper
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:47 PM) Apparently Tennessee wanted both of Cleveland's #1's and their 2nd rounder to move up to the #2 spot to get Mariota. Still think two 1st rounders are too much for Rivers? He makes us instant contenders and if we make a deep playoff run, it would really be this year's 1st and what equates to basically a 2nd rounder next year.
If not, get Cooper in the 1st and then grab Hundley in the 2nd and O-line in the 3rd.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:05 PM) I wouldn't be upset with Cooper, hes a stud
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:06 PM) Not sure about Ray. Dupree is rising on the draft boards, ridiculously athletic for his size
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:07 PM) Dupree is 6'4 270 and has a amazing get off and runs a 4.5
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Problem is he doesn't have big sack numbers in college, I rather draft a productive guy high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Vic Beasley is insanely athletic as well and was hugely productive in college, good bet is that Beasley will be a 10+ sack guy in the NFL
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:12 PM) Beasley should be a stud but he gets caught up hand fighting if he doesn't beat his guy quickly. He'll likely end up as an OLB but we'll see
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:15 PM) He'd be a good fit in our defense, because we could use that speed guy on the outside
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:27 AM) I'd love Rivers, but we should be able to get him without paying 2 first rounders
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:29 AM) Lot of buzz about Dupree going top 10, most mocks I see have us getting either Ray or Dupree at 6. I prefer Dupree, like you said insane athlete for his size
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:30 AM) I like Beasley as well but I have a strong feeling Washington will snag him. But he is a small dude, it'd be nice if he'd add some bulk (in Clemson reportedly played around 230)
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:11 AM) @ArifHasanNFL

.@LanceZierlein says on http://sports790.com that Shane Ray will need surgery on foot, 5 months recovery. "Could drop out of first"
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:14 AM) this should change up the top 10
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 12:16 PM) Damn that's big. If he drops out of round 1 that could be a massive bargain for whoever gets him round 2. Dupree now looks more like the edge rusher we'd get at 6

Man just another day being African American.

I'll keep it short. I go to the grocery store last last night (we have a 24hr joint near my house)... anyways, I go in to buy some syrup because my daughter had her friend sleepover last night and how dare they not have what they need for pancakes in the morning. Anyways.. I noticed this drunk white dude (drunk or high) as I walked in and thought nothing of it. Minded my own business. However I noticed he pulled up in a black BMW and he was noticablely intoxicated. (i know, driving and drunk.. wow) anyways I go in and I buy myself the syrup for my kid. I notice he's at the check out counter kind of stammering and just acting all strange. Saying some strange things. I know the guy at the check out counter. I'm a regular there. I've lived in the area for 8 to 9 years. We were talking football, then he starts talking to the guy at the checkout counter. Kinda giving him a hard time. I could tell things weren't right with this dude. It he was acting real weird. I slightly intervened and said, "Hey bro, maybe you got some friends you could call to come give you a lift home.. you ain't looking to well".. I was kind of looking out for him, although he was just a troubled dude. Dude starts giving me attitude then he just says "shut up n*gger" right to my face. I couldn't believe this.. I filled with rage and anger and to believe I tried to help this guy just 2 minutes ago.

So anyways the clerk said he wasn't having it and went to get someone like a manager. Buddy walked out the store and so I followed. To make a long story short lets say I blacked out.. I stop hitting him when he started making gurgling noises and weird moaning sounds... I want back into the grocery and told them to call this guy an ambulance. I wasn't trying to kill the guy but he was in bad shape. I just wanted to inflict a little pain. In any event I just lost my cool. I'm sick of people using the word like it's nothing. I tried to walk away but I couldn't. There has been lots of stuff in life I've turned a blind eye too. Lots of stuff... I wasn't about to let that slide, I couldn't let this just fall by the wayside.

On a side note. I play on XBL a lot as some of you guys know. In my down town I play video games. There is a lot of racist people that sit behind their headset and ell this nonsense. All they do is degrade black folk. Call us all types of racist names and nothing happends to them. They are allowed to sit in their safe confines of their apartment or living quarters and talk like this to people. I mean you should hear some of these guys. I think I just had enough. I could have really did this guy if I wanted to. I felt like it but I held back. In a weird sick way, it felt good. He needed to be taught a lesson. My daughter has to grow up and no doubt she's going to have to hear this and be subjected to this hate and it will change her, it will taint her and it's fucking sad. I've dealt with this my whole life and it will never go away. I'm worried now for this guys well being because I might have went to far. It was bitter cold and he on his back when I left him.. dude was gurgling and making just fucked up noises, I should have turned him on his side before I left. Why must people try to test my faith, this dude was suicidal calling me these words as if he couldn't be touched.

Thanks for letting me vent a little.

I see your point. Honestly. Some black folk don't care and call me "ni99a". Some make it a point to tell you how fukced up they think that word is. I don't like to use that word as an insult (because I don't believe it is). Lets hope the guy that you know at the counter didn't say "Yea this black guy that's a regular here" when the cops came around asking about who went all "assault & battery" on the guy in the parking lot.

2ndly its not using the word like its nothign. this guy was an obvious drunk racist. All words can be used in any form.

For instance, if one of your friends is liek Whats up my *beep*, you wouldn't get mad. Its not meant to be hurtful its just friends being friends.
now if some stranger is like f*** off *beep*, then yeah i can see you getting pissed. its more the context then the word

I was born in NY but moved to South Carolina when I was young. I can remember being a little intimadated by African Americans when we first moved, just young and ignorant I suppose. As I got older I developed some great relationships. Some of the best quality people I know are African American. I believe some of my best life lessons were taught to me by those friends. I truly believe if people were just willing to open there minds and reach out a little they would be surprised. There is a culture difference. I have noticed more of an extended family atmosphere. I am envious of that coming from a small family that is spread out across the country. I think the people who have this problem all have some of the following issues. First they dont understand the difference in culture. People who are closed minded are intimidated by what they dont or are unwilling to understand. Second is the way they were raised. When I was in SC some of the people (from all races) I went to school with would not even acknowlege people because of difference. I had a huge crush on an African American girl in high school and I remember some people I know were like you cant do that. I dont know how to fix it other than education. Its actually pretty sad. I do hope you put this behind you and move forward. Dont let one ignorant jerk stop the way you live.

I can see where both of you are coming from being from Long Island where I had friends from all different races we were cool to just say that word and nothing would happen but it does have to come to a point where the line is crossed and action needs to be taken to curb the use of that word. Dubb you did what you had to do and finally popped your top and sucks for that dude who got his grill tore up at your hands but I hope nothing happens to you and he just learns his lesson and he has no excuse for using that word even if he was heavily intoxicated. I stopped using that word around my black friends cause like you said 115 there are 2 ways to say it that can be up to debate by everyone but the word no matter how you say it is still a deragotory comment towards African Americans...It's a touchy subject but really it should be at the discretion of people unless they use it in a racist manner where what Dubb did to that assclown happens and Dubbs you the man for standing up and punchin that assclown in the mug....

Ok Dubb, I feel horrible for some idiot calling you such a degrading word, but man, how old are you? You have a child and you let some moron get to you like that? I understand that the word should never be used, and I myself, have never used it but dude, you are just as bad as this guy for handling it like that. Be the bigger man, walk away. Everytime someone degrades you, you can't beat their face in, the world doesn't work that way bro, and you know that. You're extremely lucky you are sitting here talking to us on the computer tonight and not facing assault charges up the ass if you really fucked this guy up as bad as you say you did.

Again, I know me and you have our outs and you're probably going to take all that the wrong way, but I don't mean it like that. I think its f***ing despicable what the guy did to you. That piece of shit has worse things coming to him than an ass beating, karma will bite him in the ass Dubb.

Otherwise, I'm sure you know there are other ways for you to handle that, but I understand why it happened. Hopefully no charges come of it, bro.

Sticks and Stones will break my bones but words will never harm me. Dubb you showed this drunk guy who you are deep inside for the first 2 minutes than you became the stereo type and you didn't teach this guy anything but to reinforce his prejudice against people who get all caught up in the words people of the world use to hurt other people. next time this guys shows up with a gun looking for someone looking for you perhaps who knows .
You are not an African American .But you are an American first and foremost with an African decent which is a large and beautiful country . Do you know who you are what country in Africa you came from ? Direct you energy there search it out be proud and I hope you learned a lesson God put in front of you because I think you were the object of the lesson .Change your heart and be forgiven change not and grow into Mr. Hide.Friends people of color but friends for life . what is a friend ...someone who will lay down their life for you Be a friend and love .

I just want to touch on this...subject because I think things like this are stupid. It's insane that we can't coexist. Break it down and we are still all American human beings. You can wear a turban, be an albino, or be dark like Kevin Garnett. Your still an American. I believe it comes down to how we are raised. Parents out there still have hatred, probably from their parents. This hatred gets passed along like a belief. It's sad. I'm glad my parents weren't like that.

Dubb. I'm not going to try and criticize the ass beating you gave this dickface. He deserved it. The problem is that he will probably be more prone to use that word while not drunk/high/full of retardation. I understand it's probably very hard to hold back and be the "adult" in this kind of situation. But, it is what it is. Some guy got shitfaced, and now has a shit face(haha). Just be happy that you don't have any charges. Your a smart guy, you wouldn't want your child to think of you as someone who goes around shittin on people's faces.

As far as the dumbass kids on XBL, that's why I don't bother playing crap like Call of Duty. Kids can't buy the games themselves, their parents pay for their Live subscriptions, and god forbid they get killed while playing these games. It's too much bs. I play the games that don't piss me off, and just talk to my friends. The best you can do is mute and move.

There is one constant in my post. Kids. The angry and racist kids on XBL are raised by the idiot racists that go to late-night grocery stores while intoxicated, who are raised by the "old-school" racists.

This is off topic, but do you guys know the history of Liberia? Holy shit! Do yourself a favor now that the season is done, google "Vice Guide to Liberia" and watch that shit. It's incredible.

Dubb......I don't blame you for what you did. I can only pray for you that the store doesn't have security cameras outside. Dude definitely deserved an ass beating. I grew up in Trenton, NJ and went to school and grew up with mixed races. Even with all the gang BS that's talked about with Trenton, we're all able to exist together. Yes......there are a bunch of racist idiots on boths sides, but they're the ignorant ones.

Good for you that you taught this idiot a lesson that he desperately needed. Let's just hope that the store clerk got your back and hat the moron was too high or drunk to ID you.

Just coincidentally, if there were no cameras, there's not enough evidence without someone else witnessing it to convict you of any assault charges. You said the clerk left to get a manager, so if there was no one else outside with you to see it or any kind of camera, there were no witnesses and the moron's testimony alone wont be enough to convict considering he was either drunk or high. I'm sure they did a blood alcohol analysis on this guy at the hospital. He's definitely not a credible witness.

IF you get asked about it, deny that $hit. To the end unless someone at the store testifies against you.

Now...this guy is obviously an asshole...for saying what he said and acting the way he did (driving drunk).

But, we all have to look at ourselves in the mirror. If we really want racism to stop it has to stop in all directions. Dubb, meant as a joke or not you calling Danny Woodhead "whiteboy" is just as bad. I'm pretty sure if that guy walked into that grocery store and told you to, "shut up black boy"...you'd be just as pissed about it. Now, I'm not saying you're racist Dubb, but if we really want it all to stop...you can't do shit like beat this guy up. He is only going to be more racist now. Now, he can justify his claims and call you some savage who mercilessly beat a defenseless guy.

Racists don't only come in white...we're all guilty...to some extent.

It sucks people are still like that, it bothers me that so many of them use the word to each other like its no big deal, when older guys who actually saw a bunch of stuff hate the word even when used in hey my n***a it doesn't matter still wrong.

However heres my thought on the thing in EVERY race there is good people and people that make the whole race look bad. To lump someone in with a group because of something they have no control over is asinine, I'm friends with black kids that are as much if not MORE respectful than a lot of the white kids I go to school with yet they get shit as a no good dirty well you know the words.

I however also wanna ask you something and don't take this the wrong way, you can say your proud of being black/mexican or from another country but if I we're to say I'm proud to be a white kid or proud of my irish heritage I'd get chastised for being "racist and ignorant"

Back on topic, its a shame you had to deal with that, you seem like good people I'm glad you didn't have to subject your kid to the incident either, its just amazing how you can hate someone you've never met. Its like going to someone and saying "you must be a thief, you have blue eyes" hopefully by the time I'm an adult and have kids racism in both directions will be gone and forgotten.

I heard all you guys and believe me I'm no irresponsible person. However like I said in the OP, there are stuff almost daily that I bury way. I hear it all the time. I can't tell you the last time I knocked someone out. It's been years but every man can have "a time" and that was my time. Like I said I realize he wasn't fighting back thats why I said I couldn't do him like I wanted. I just felt to inflict a little pain. Dude cannot go around just calling people n*ggers and spics or whatever and think nothing is going to happen. Like I said, there are things that I bury deep down and stuff that I turn a blind eye to all the time and no I don't fly off the handle and get at everyone who's ever said it. However, none of you guys know what it's like unless your in my shoes and it was "my time" (or so I chose) to let it go.

Just because I have a daughter and I'm 31 doesn't mean someone can't get touched. Sometimes in life there are going to be circumstances that call for someone to "get it" and thats just the bottom line. Do I feel bad for doing it?... sure there is some remorse there. Did I make sure he was attended to?... sure because I'm no savage. I just wanted to send a message and I think he'll think twice before calling people that again. I guarantee it. I stopped beating him after I thought I did enough. I wasn't there to turn him into a vegetable. In all honesty, I really truly don't like to hurt to people. I'm a pretty strong guy I'd say. I know I can inflict a lot of punishment very quickly on someone but the worst part is my nasty side. When you couple that with the strength then I know I could really hurt someone. I don't like to hurt people, it's not my thing. I'm actually I very giving person. Like I said I was just trying to help this guy, by mentioning maybe he should call for a ride home because I did see him pull up in BMW and he clearly shouldn't be driving. I wasn't expecting him to call me a n*gger after I was only trying to help him from hurting himself or another person. I felt slighted and disrespected and I snapped, perhaps if I not had those 5 or 6 beers that night maybe I would have dealt with it a little differently but it was what it was. I would have had a hard time swallowing that one, without no ramifications. I would have had a hard time walking away and believe me I tried but I couldn't do it. He needed to feel something.

For what it's worth I'm remorseful and I'm a human.

I appreciate all your guys feedback. This is why I chose to tell you guys because I know you guys are level headed and would offer good advice. Not everyone is going to agree with what I did but it happened. You'll never truly know what it like sometimes and for the most part I handle it very well but I know me and there will be times that I will blow.

Don't count on it big guy. There is just to much ignorance. Parents are still teaching their kids how to hate.

Oh and hurricane. The "whiteboy" Danny Woodhead thread was meant in Jest and I was directed at gmany. Gmany likes to make note of someone who plays football that is white. I was just poking fun.

Yeah Dubb I know it was...I know you meant no harm. But, it is something to think about. If I poked fun at the African American kicker that comes around once in a blue moon by making a thread titled, "A Little Black Boy Kicker!!!??? Can You Believe It!?"

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't go over so well...so why is it Ok to do it in the reverse?

Everyone should have the same standard I here you.. listen to this 2 min clip from my boy CK Louis.

I like the part where he said you can't insult white people and he's right. Calling someone a "whiteboy" fails in comparison to calling a black guy "little black boy" there is a sensitive issue with white people degrading black people. There should be a double standard but the reality is there isn't. There is nothing a black guy can call a white guy thats racial that can get under his skin really. Unfortunately there a few derogatory comments that can be made to black people that can spring some serious tension. It's just how it is.

I should pushpin this topic for Louis CK alone.

And TheFuture, there's a difference between declaring your pride for your heritage and being a supremacist. No one gets mad at the Irish during St. Patrick's Day. No one gets mad at flags or representing your heritage's colors. But when the conversations turn into, "We're better because..." it starts to walk a fine line.

Also, I can't stop staring at my avatar.
