Not only is the PS3 the heaviest console in history, it also has the best software library according to Famitsu. The Japanese gaming magazine crunched some numbers and found that the PS3 has the highest percentage of games that scored Gold reviews. Famitsu's review system awards a Gold ranking for a game that scores at least 32/40. As of the end of 2009, the magazine has given a Gold award to 77 out of the 171 PS3 games they reviewed. That comes out to 45.05%. The Xbox 360 came in at a very close second with 43.33%. In the handheld realm, the PSP garnered similar accolades. At 23.20% -- or 90 out of 388 games reviewed -- the PSP managed to top other handheld gaming devices and ended up fourth overall. The DS follows with 17.14%. Sega's Game Gear is at the far opposite end of the spectrum with no games getting a Gold review at all.
Here are the numbers published in the latest Famitsu issue. Note that Famitsu's grading curve has softened somewhat over the years, so games on earlier consoles were reviewed harsher than those on machines released at the turn of the century. PlayStation 3 (77/171) . 45.03%
)Xbox 360 (104/240), 43.33%

They gotta shift that weight into exclusives vs. exclusives if they want the percentages to have merit. A 9.5 for a dual-platform game doesn't help the argument, you know?
And then we'll really see games like Little Big Planet, Uncharted x2, MAG, God of War III, Heavy Rain, Killzone 2, etc. put that software debate to rest.
Love my PS3 -- just really wishing for a new user interface. The XMB is tiiiired.

So the xbox has almost 30 more games of "gold standard" then the PS3, and a bigger library by almost 70 games? i don't see much of an argument there?
lets say an average of 30 hours per games for 27 more games = 810 more quality gaming hours for the xbox then on the PS3. Just saying

I never said it sucks. both systems are very powerful and cutting edge and have good and bad qualities. i just prefer my 360, but i never said the PS3 is trash. but it needs some work. mostly on the dashboard, online service, and hardware (the controllers suck) but for a casual gamer who wants a blu ray player too its a great deal. it just doesn't fit my wants at this point. but i don't think its trash by any means.
but yeah his mom does smell, i won't argue with that

good point. it would hold much more weight if they shows how many exclusives each system had and their % ratings. but based on the numbers it still favors the 360. lets say 80% of the games are shared (based on bottom line number 77 from the PS3) thats about 58 meaning that the PS3 would have about 19 gold exclusives while the 360 would have about 46 more then double the PS3
in the words of yo gotti's recent song. women lie, men lie, numbers don't lie
and the dashboard sucks. i love the 360 dashboard. easy to navigate and find things and you can have custom themes on it. me being a fallout nerd and buying teh game plus all the content i received a free theme from bethseda (good fan appreciation in my opinion) so i have a fallout 3 theme
Get it done MT
