Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:32 PM) so he doesn't want to be drafted?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:33 PM) If Collins doesn't get drafted, he can't enter next years draft. He can only if he is drafted and sits out. So I guess he has to go undrafted
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) going undrafted makes the most sense for collins
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 03:41 PM) but for teams, drafting him and dealing with his holdout makes more sense
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:19 PM) Zac Stacy was traded to us for our 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) Jets also drafted a NT with our other 7th
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:21 PM) 6'4 330 DL who is very strong
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) zac stacy for a 7th
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:25 PM) well can't complain about that
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:29 PM) So we have 4 rbs now
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:31 PM) still would have rather taken a runner on collins but i can't complain with depth
V DidDy 210 Icon : (02 May 2015 - 04:32 PM) i mean they can't expect to carry 4 rb though no?
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:50 PM) Collins would have been a waste. He would not have signed. At least we have something to show for our pick. Worst case scenario is we trade or release one of our backs.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) I know it's hard to tell without seeing a win loss record yet but this regime seems really on point.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:56 PM) For the first time in my life I can say I feel comfortable with the people making the decisions.
azjetfan Icon : (02 May 2015 - 05:57 PM) I was close with Parcells but he seemed like a short term fixer and didn't care about the long term
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) SUCK FOR THE DUCK
MikeGangGree... Icon : (02 May 2015 - 06:57 PM) .......oh wait
santana Icon : (03 May 2015 - 01:13 AM) Well that was a disappointment
Chadforpresi... Icon : (03 May 2015 - 01:24 AM) I like getting Stacy for our 7th rounder, assuming he can handle the fact he won't be a feature back (yikes)
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:31 AM) I like the trade, hes a quality back and adds more depth to our backfield
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:32 AM) Macc has pretty much killed it this offseason
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:32 AM) He has turned this roster around, he has added talent and competition all over.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:33 AM) We still aren't great at QB, but our overall football team is good. We have a realistic shot at making a playoff run
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:33 AM) We may have the best defense in football. We have a great DL and secondary, that is gonna be tough on offenses when you can stop the run, pressure the QB, and blanket the receivers
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:23 PM) ok now it's time for this team to take all this talent and do something anything below a 10-6 season will be a disappointment
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:24 PM) the only still glaring issue is QB
ganggreen2003 Icon : (03 May 2015 - 09:25 PM) we got the WR problem solved, we got probably one of the best Defenses in the game and we have addressed the OL but QB will still be the glaring issue
Chaos Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:34 AM) jets cleaning house
azjetfan Icon : (04 May 2015 - 05:57 PM) I'm excited about this year. Could be a good year for the Jets.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (04 May 2015 - 07:32 PM) weird how they cleaned house in the scouting department after such a successful draft and off-season so far
azjetfan Icon : (04 May 2015 - 07:36 PM) I assume they didn't bring much to the table
santana Icon : (04 May 2015 - 08:41 PM) Have to clean the table
santana Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:08 PM) Fuck the rangers
santana Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:08 PM) face off dominated holtby gtfo
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (04 May 2015 - 09:18 PM) La'el Collins is meeting with Rex Ryan tonight
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 12:31 AM) FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!
Chaos Icon : (Yesterday, 05:41 AM) Damn that'd make up for the Bills not having a first rounder
azjetfan Icon : (Yesterday, 10:59 AM) They didn't sign him yet. It's just a visit.
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 01:49 PM) Uefa time
ROBJETS Icon : (Yesterday, 11:56 PM) Not sure if anyone saw this on the MSN home page but might be something worth looking into for the offensive line

azjetfan Icon : (Today, 02:35 PM) They are going to fry Brady.

Nick Mangold
Darrelle Revis
David Harris
Santonio Holmes
Braylon Edwards
Antonio Cromartie

All FA after this seasons, except Revis has 2 buy back years. I hope we get Mangold a long term deal before the season so we don't have to worry about that. I want Harris getting an extension as well.

Then with Holmes and Edwards, we will probably only keep 1 long term.

Nick Mangold - Will be given an extension by preseason.

Darrelle Revis - Will be extended by training camp.

Santonio Holmes - Likely given a 2 yr extension front loaded prior to stepping on the field in a Jets uniform.

Braylon Edwards - Potential casualty but will likely be extended. Any extension will be based purely on his recurring cases of the drops.

Antonio Cromartie - Not sure what happens with him but he'll surely get extended for 3 yrs.

David Harris - Front loaded extension in his future although with our history, I can see Harris being one of the last given an extension.
I will not be forgotten. This is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove it. Only the strong survive.

When someone annoys u, it takes 42 muscles in ur face 2 frown. BUT, it only takes 4 muscles 2 extend ur arm & b!tch-slap that mother@*?!&! upside the head!!

I don't think the Jets can afford all that...

Mangold and Revis will get paid top money for their position...possibly getting the richest contracts for their respective position ever.

I think Holmes, Edwards, and Cromartie don't get anything until they prove their worth on the field this year...you would think Edwards and Holmes are fighting for one contract.

I agree. Plus there is Leon unless I'm missing something...

I think the priorities are Mangold, Revis (less immediate problem because of current contract), Harris, the WRs (only one contract goes out unless something changes), Cromartie (no reason to lock him up until he proves his worth).

Leon is on the outs, don't see him having a long term future with the team.

Totally agree here. Let's also not forget that Brick's contract is going to need to be extended soon. I don't imagine Leon will be here more than another year.

At least the Jets should have the decision between Holmes and Braylon for who to keep after the year. That's better than BE or nothing.

I'd say the Jets are probably pushing to trade Leon.

Possibly a draft day trade for a pick or something?

As usual, the Jets have filled a lot of holes in free agency. FS, WR, CB are no longer pressing needs, nor will be OLB if they sign Jason Taylor which looks very possible at this point. All signs are pointing to them trading up in the draft yet again. God knows who it will be. Perhaps Odrick?

I don't like the idea of trading up for Odrick. Our early picks are going to be on OL, DL, or CB. Those are the areas of need, assuming we sign Jason Taylor.

At this point, you know Tannenbaum thinks the Jets are one player away from the big one. If they don't re-sign Douglas, there's an obvious hole at DE. Tannenbaum won't go into the season like that. It also really seems like Odrick is the perfect Rex guy.

Wouldn't surprise me to see it.

I don't like the idea of trading up for Odrick, either. I'd wait for someone to fall to us, that's the benefit of taking BPA.(I hope it's Odrick)

I like Odrick and wouldn't mind getting him, just I don't see him as a player you trade up for. There are some other DE guys I would be happy with like Tyson Alualu.

With Holmes, he would be a risky player to sign long term. Hes being suspended 4 games because of drugs, if he is caught again he is suspended for a season right? If Edwards has a good year he would be more ideal to sign long term since he isn't as likely to be suspended for a season.

Well, Edwards is still a possible suspension to start next year, but I agree on Holmes. He's had the drug problem all the way back in Ohio State. He can't continue to get busted or he will be suspended for a reason and that's just killer.

They will both be battling each other on and off the field for the contract, so that should be motivation and I would be more then happy with either of them (at the top of their game) for a long time here with the Jets.

As for Odrick, I'd love him and I'd move maybe a couple spots up to get him but nothing too drastic. As you said, Alualu is solid, as well as people like Lamar Houston, Cam Thomas and Arthur Jones.

I think we sit on our pick, and just take the BPA on defense... be it Odrick, Hughes, or whoever.

Edwards suspension will be a game if anything, he has shown to really want to play his career on the Jets. All he has to do is be more consistent with the hands and he can be real good. When you have a guy like Holmes that has always had drug issues it is risky which is why the Steelers wanted to get rid of him. I like his play on the field though. Hopefully the Jets can win the SB this year and make it a memorable season.

I think a trade up is very possible now. We took care of draft day concerns with Cromartie being signed and we took a hold of another void with L.T. Everyone thought we needed to WR. We signed Holmes. Defense is what were taking with the 1st round pick. OLB or DE.

I think its more likely we could even more out of the 1st round instead of a move up. Money is a problem right now.

were gonna lose some players. period. MT needs to extend some players quickly in this uncapped year and take advantage of it before its capped and we can't afford it

Yes money is an issue, but here is what I do.

This is what I do this year:
- Find a trade for Gholston - I might even give up a pick to unload him especially if you can get someone to take the money.
- Find a trade for Leon - Maybe a 3 because he is a 2 tender.
- Do we dare deal Jenkins? I'd entertain it if you can bring Douglas back and you still have Pouha and Devito who are lunchpail guys who played great in 09.
- Max out Mangold
- Max out Revis

Next year I:
- Let LT retire
- Let Taylor retire
- Let Brunell retire
- Cut Fanaca
- Sign two of Cromartie Dbrick and Harris then get a cheaper replacement for the other
- One of the WR gets a contract not both.

BAM we are in a great position for a long time.
This team gives me gray hairs, but I love them none the less.
