I just want to point out the amazing job Tanny did with his contract. Sure he paid him a lot for a few seasons, but everyone knocked him for giving him all this money and years, and now he is gone. I think this was the plan all along, and I believe in Tanny's ability to manage the cap even more now.

Not a big fan of this move at all. What's the rush in cutting him? I rather have had the rookie develop and see what happens before they started tearing apart a good thing.
7.5 Million, that's the rush

Despite Faneca reportedly refusing a cut, this move doesn't sit too well with me. Faneca's play has regressed since he was at the top of his game with the Steelers, but he's proven to be pivotal in the success of our running game. Plus, with Ducasse being as raw as he is and our current backups not having too much experience, I would have liked to see Faneca kept around. He would have been a great mentor for Vladimir.
Faneca was due a ton of money, his contract was cut-able and he was the weak link according to just about every scouting source in the NFL. He will be missed but he is replaceable.
