Think not having Torres up front with Villa limited their scoring abilities to be fair. They were wonderful at Euro 08, as you know.
I know I've asked this before, but who do you support over there? I want to say you're a Manc but I forget...

My interest in the Premier League hasn't been high at all for a while, but out of the supposed 'top four' I prefer Man United considering the fact they have the highest number of British players amongst their squads. I follow my home town team Swindon Town - who play in League One - more.

I actually saw Swindon play when I was over there traveling watching as much as I could.

In Swindon? Strange choice of place to visit if it was!
It was in 2006 or 2007 I think. They were league 2 then? I know I saw them vs. Hartlepool, and it was on my road to the Stadium of Light to see a Sunderland game. I hope I have my direction right, haha.
I started at Anfield, went to Bolton to see the Reebok, then Leeds to see Elland Road and then traveled to that game, and then Sunderlands game.
It was probably the most memorable couple weeks of my life.
I'll be back over there in a couple of months. Going to see Bolton (my friend Stuart Holden is there now) vs. Liverpool at the Reebok. I refuse to go to Anfield and contribute more money to those goon owners.

Never been that far north before, but the directions sound about right. Yeah they were League Two - both Swindon and Hartlepool got promoted that year.
How come you know Stuart Holden? Through college? He's the guy that came on towards the end of the England game in the World Cup right?

I met him at a youth competition when we both were 14 or 15, and then met again at other competitions/camps and always stayed in contact. He went to Clemson, and I went to a smaller school in Illinois for soccer. When I had to give it up, we stayed in contact. I always knew he had a ton of talent and was going to play professionally. His first go around in England didn't work out so well (not sure if you know his story with that).
We've stayed pretty close and he invited me to go see the Liverpool game since he knows how much I love LFC.
Really nice and cool guy... and he has bags of talent. It was a shame De Jong broke his leg in that friendly... he was bound to make a splash for the USA this World Cup
