Luigidel Icon : (Today, 12:07 PM) Hes changing the atitude of the team, hes got them brainwashed into thinking they can win it
Luigidel Icon : (Today, 12:08 PM) theres no doubt they have the personnel the coaches and the game scheme so why not talk about the goal of winning

S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:15 PM) I think Mark is ready for the challenge. Their defense aint that good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 12:17 PM) The thing that worries me is the Ravens front 7. The Jets are going to need to keep them off guard because they will attack the run game. Hope Schotty calls a good game, gets Mark into a groove.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 12:18 PM) The Ravens secondary is mediocre at best, that maybe even generous to say. No Ed Reed
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 12:18 PM) Front 7 got Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, Kevin Gregg, Jarrett Johnson. Some good players.
S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:19 PM) Their front 7 is very good. No question about it
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 12:19 PM) I don't think its a game we can just run over, the passing game needs to be efficient.
S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:19 PM) Their defense as a whole isn't great
S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:20 PM) Bengals had success against them through the air. Were going to have to throw on them
S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:21 PM) my whole thing is they don't have the same blitzing mentality that Rex had
S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:23 PM) I think their secondary can get torched. B. Schott has to call plays without catering to Marks inexperience. Go for the juggler because the only way we win this game is if Mark has a good game. I don't think we'll be able to run as well as we'll like to
S-Dubb Icon : (Today, 12:24 PM) janesports Harbaugh on Ryan: "He’s done a great job there and took them to the championship game last year. He’s proven himself as a great head coach."
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 PM) Wait... their front 7 is good? I'd say average. Ngata is top notch, no question. Ray Lewis is the man, but he's not the same player he was 5 years ago. He doesn't have side line to sideline speed anymore. Suggs has been non existent since he signed his big extension. He's no better than Adelius Thomas, and Thomas is unemployed. Gregg and Johnson are solid players that aren't going to win you a game by themselves.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:37 PM) The Ravens defense is slightly better than the Patriots, but their offense is way worse. Those of you that believe that the Ravens are a sleeper SB pick need to calm down.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:39 PM) Mangold vs Ngata should be a great battle. Everyone else should be able to handle their assignments and the run should work. Once we get the run going and those safeties creep up, that's when Mark can air it out to BE.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:39 PM) Who's covering Dustin? Is Ray Ray going to chase him?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:43 PM) McClain or Landry, I'd imagine?

Defensive line help keeps flowing onto the Dolphins' ever-evolving roster.

Wednesday night it was controversial former Saints defensive end Charles Grant who was reportedly headed to Miami. Grant, entering his ninth season, has signed a two-year deal that could be worth up to $4.5 million, according to NFL.com.

E-mails to Grant's agents seeking confirmation were not immediately returned.

In March he was released three years into a seven-year, $63 million contract with the Saints that paid him $20 million in guaranteed money.

Grant was cleared in May of an involuntary manslaughter charge in his home state of Georgia. That charge dated to a February 2008 incident in a Blakely, Ga., nightclub in which Grant was stabbed in the neck and a 23-year-old pregnant woman died.

Grant paid a $1,000 fine for public fighting and $20,000 to cover the cost of the investigation by the sheriff's office.

The veteran lineman, who turns 32 on Sept. 3, is apparently slated to stay at end even though he's moving from a 4-3 scheme to the Dolphins' 3-4 defense. The Saints, however, often used a three-man front, so the transition might not be as problematic for Grant, who has 47 career sacks and 16 forced fumbles.

Grant, a regular starter who suffered a season-ending triceps injury in Week 17 last season, missed the Saints' run to their first Super Bowl title. He was selected by the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League but did not sign.

A first-round pick out of Georgia in 2002, Grant had 5 1/2 sacks last year for the Saints, who replaced him with former Bears pass rusher Alex Brown this offseason.

Grant joins nose tackle Montavious Stanley and defensive end Marques Douglas as veterans who have signed with the Dolphins to replenish a unit depleted by the July 15 retirement of Jason Ferguson and the July 22 news that Phillip Merling, the projected starter at right defensive end, would miss the season with a torn Achilles' tendon.

Dolphins training camp opens Friday.

Grant received a four-game suspension after a positive drug test in 2008. He has yet to serve that suspension because of a lawsuit filed by a pair of Vikings players against the makers of the supplement in question.

Once the Dolphins sign their top two draft picks, defensive end Jared Odrick and outside linebacker Koa Misi, and place Merling on injured reserve, they will still be one player over the 80-man limit for training camp. It's possible they will release one of their other defensive linemen.

For now, Grant joins a crowded group of options to start opposite Kendall Langford. Ikaika Alama-Francis, Ryan Baker, Lionel Dotson and Tony McDaniel also are in the mix at that spot.

I always liked him. Didn't know about the dead pregnant woman thing but I think he's a good addition to their shitty defense. He should help Misi break the sack record.
