Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:34 AM) tehhhh
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:37 AM) it wasn't for 3 years and Andrew Luck is the best QB prospect to come out in years. Teddy Bridgewater most likely isn't Luck or RGIII
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 11:40 AM) I've only seen Bridgewater play once. That was against Florida, I actually watched that game.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 12:12 PM) Teddy will be a good NFL QB I think

Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 09:21 PM) you don't watch college football, stop
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 09:23 PM) He might not even of been in the second tier of players
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."

Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite

Darrelle Revis very well might be the best defender in all sports.

That doesn't make him indispensable -- even to one of his most prominent teammates.

New York Jets nose tackle Kris Jenkins reasoned if they could maintain the NFL's top-rated defense without him, then they can do it sans their all-galaxy cornerback.

"You have to understand that this defense did a very good job of getting along without me being there, and me coming back, it's humbled me tremendously," Jenkins told host Michael Kay of ESPN 1050 in New York. "I know this isn't the type of team I can be on and act like the center of attention.

"With Revis, it's the same thing. ... We definitely have the talent to go and keep on achieving our goals if Revis is going to be absent. I would love to see Revis there, but if not we have to keep on fighting."

Revis is contemplating a training-camp holdout in hopes of a more favorable contract. He will make only $1 million this year despite his soaring reputation as the NFL's best cover corner.

Jenkins claimed Dwight Lowery and first-round draft pick Kyle Wilson could compensate for a missing Revis opposite right cornerback Antonio Cromartie, a notion football analyst KC Joyner proposed in June.

Jenkins suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 6, filling Rex Ryan with dread. But the Jets finished with the No. 1 total defense, scoring defense and pass defense.

Kay also asked Jenkins about the Jets' propensity for trash talking and whether that's courting trouble.

"Honestly, playing football, you can go out there and talk and you can go out there and say nothing. It's still going to be the same type of game," Jenkins said. "A lot of people, when they hear things in the paper or on the air, they really start to think guys are asking for it.

"Seriously, I haven't played a team yet that you've been nice to in the paper and they go out and take it easy on you on Sunday. This is a professional sport. Guys don't really care how we feel."

Revis would lose 20million if he holds out so does this mean tanny will give his 20 million on top of his new contract ? I don't think so. Revis has to play it smart.

I agree and disagree with Kris here. Kris's position and Revis's are totally different and sure we are beastlier with Jenks in there but at the end of the day Rex's scheme kind of puts a band-aid over Kris absence.

However you can't "band-aid" the cornerback position (however Rex is so brillant he would alter his scheme to play with a single high safety) but at the end of the day Revis is more important to us then Jenkins is. Scheme is everything and if we were a team that sits back and plays in coverage shells then we would absolutely need Kris and would feel the effects of his absence, however with Rex it's not like that, it's confusion and congestion. Whether Kris is in there or not. However the reason that is possible is because of Revis. Revis allows to play 8 or 9 in the box if we have to.

So I agree we could win games without Revis, I disagree in saying he's indispencible. It would be tough to go all the way without him. having him on the feild allows us to do so much.

Revis might miss a few days or even a few weeks but I really doubt that Revis would jeopordize his chance to play for a Super Bowl and miss any regular season games....if anyone can get Revis on board it's Rex and I know that when the primetime lights shine on Opening Night for the JETS vs. Ravens that Revis will be at Corner and we will be starting the journey towards the promised land that has avoided us for 42 years...

I dont know about how we would do without him. Cro would be solid but we would be weaker than last year in the secondary without Revis. WIlson might be a great player but he will be a rookie and will have growing pains. Lowrey is average and can hold the slot.

Revis is the most important man on the defense, without him we are average. without him the qb can get rid of the ball faster because he has another target to throw to downfield this makes our secondary blitz almost impossible.

I disagree with this totally.

Other than the qb the line is the most important part on both offense and defense. Revis is great but he can only cover one player. Without line penetration a decent qb can always find a receiver. The Jets were number one in defense without being number one against the pass last year. The Jets wont be as good but they would still be a top ten dense without Revis. Especially with Jenkins back.

I want Revis to play really bad but if he is going to contimue on this road of refusing to play unless he makes a dollar more than Azumanga then I say get rid of him.

No one man is more important thean the rest of the team. I hate to name the Patriots but they became a dynasty without paying their players the highest salaries.

Basically the only way Revis is going to get the kind of money he wants is to play on a shitty team period. There is no way he is going to get the money he wants on a team with so many high caliber players on it.

So it comes down to what he wants most......money..... or chances at championships and getting more recognition and more money through sponsorships.

Honestly the only way you are going to see veterans get paid more is if a rookie salary cap is put in place. The rookies may not like it but they couldnt do a thing if they wanted to play in the NFL.Not to mention it would end this bullshit rookie holdouts. Not a minute played on the field proving themselves and they get pampered. Makes me sick.

Rob, it sounds like you agree more than disagree with me. Top ten might as well mean average which is what I said originally. You say top ten I say average, are we really that far off from each other? The point is that we need Revis if we are going to be the team that nobody wants to play to quote Rex.
