ROBJETS Icon : (16 November 2014 - 08:04 PM) With only two wild card spots I doubt they will even make the playoffs. They have to have a better record than the 49rs because they have the tie breaker over the Eagles. They also have the Seahawks who they need to beat to have a tie breaker plus they have two games against Dallas.
santana Icon : (16 November 2014 - 08:05 PM) "The only team that the Packers haven't started up at least 28-0 at Lambeau this year was the Jets"
ROBJETS Icon : (16 November 2014 - 08:06 PM) odds are its going to be the 49rs or the Seahwaks getting the 2nd wild card spot and either the Packers or Lions getting the other
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 November 2014 - 10:24 PM) I hate how the referees continue to help the CHEATriots
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 November 2014 - 10:24 PM) they bow down to this classless organization week in week out
santana Icon : (16 November 2014 - 10:36 PM) they don't need help offense is scoring very easily
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 November 2014 - 10:53 PM) they are still a classless organization who still gets special preferential treatment from the league and refs
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 November 2014 - 11:03 PM) just like that last play when that goon gronkowski pretty much shoved that Indy DB right into the camera dolly...any other team or player does it, they eject them...but the CHEATriots just get a penalty
ROBJETS Icon : (17 November 2014 - 03:14 AM) I here you gg. I doubt they favor any team though. We just hate the Patriots so much every bad call we see that helps that team we remember. My only hope is when Brady finally retires or gets injured or whatever that the Patriots dont turn out like the Colts going from Manning to a qb like Luck. Can you imagine how us Jets fans would feel like then?
ROBJETS Icon : (17 November 2014 - 03:17 AM) It has to really suck for the other AFC South teams.
ROBJETS Icon : (17 November 2014 - 03:22 AM) I just hope the Cards can make it to the bowl and win with Stanton. He looks ok but after watching the game he isn't on the level of Palmer. Thats what worries me if they have to face a team we dont want in the Bowl from the AFC
Chaos Icon : (17 November 2014 - 12:15 PM) Stanton winning the SB would be something.
Chaos Icon : (17 November 2014 - 12:16 PM) Jets got rid of the guy to get Tebow lol
azjetfan Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:19 PM) It's not the QB its the coach. I was screaming for Bruce Ariens
azjetfan Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:20 PM) I was told he was a QB killer by some on here.
azjetfan Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:20 PM) I was told his QBs hated him by some on here
santana Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:22 PM) Everyone is against my amazing opinions!!!
santana Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:23 PM) I'm the best driver on the east coast! Everyone else is terrible
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:52 PM) The biggest mistake was made today
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:53 PM) Stanton for $325 Mil
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:53 PM) after he got hit in the face who said he'll even be the same player ever again
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:54 PM) but the Marlins throw $325 million at him like nothing ever happened
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 06:55 PM) I predict he'll be a shell of himself and in 5 years he will be horrible player and the $ will still be weighing down the Marlins for the remainder of the contract
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 07:06 PM) 3 years ago I would of considered this kind of contract but after what happened to him this season and how he might be shocked to step into the batters box in 2015 is a HUGE risk when a team gives them $325 million
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 07:07 PM) these monster contracts are ridiculous to begin with
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 November 2014 - 07:32 PM) So who thinks the JETS will win this Sunday?

Option A.....I dont know that Revis is making a statement here. I hope not, but it really looks that way....

Just as usual, when fans are getting hyped for the season....this shit happens....

Maybe the fans should boycott the NFL? We pay way to much to watch these rich fuckers. Jerseys and gear costs a ton....I think we should be the one that is bitchin about money....

Trading Revis would be stupid, you won't find a CB of his skills. Lets go into the season with SB expectations with Cromartie and Wilson as the starting CBs, yay.... No, Revis is a core player and they need to get something done.
Totally agree. I know they're not nice and show some of the selfishness of players nowadays, but holdouts have become part and parcel of the NFL so as fans we shouldn't ever be gobsmacked at player's who decide they're deal is not good enough and decide to sit out.
I've only been a Jets fan less than a decade, but during that time it has often been a painful experience. In no way, shape or form do I want to see the Jets lose a player like Revis, who makes the team that much better.

By the way, there isn't any other team that will pay him $16M/y for anything more then 3 or 4 seasons, and he wants longer then that. Trading him wouldn't solve a damn thing, and we would lose out on the best player on our team.

We are NOT trading him.

None of the above...and all of the above. It just isn't that simple...the situation and circumstances are to blame.

Al Davis.

Revis wants to be paid like the best and Al Davis destroyed the market for DB's by 3M more a year. That is just asinine. Al Davis is definitely a huge culprit in all of this.
Aso's deal was a THREE YEAR deal. You don't pay someone that type of money over a 5 or 6 year deal.

This is NOT because Davis or Aso. This is because of Revis's inability to grasp that and his mindset that he MUST be the highest paid player at the league.

The thing about it is in a way we as fans created the monster by christening him Revis Island. We made him believe he was the best in the business and he is, but the way he's going about it is completely wrong. This is what's wrong with the NFL these days, players don't play for the love of the game anymore, they do it to boost their bank accounts IMO. You have to wonder how much of this is coming from Revis himself, all the stuff we've heard so far is from agents and his handlers. I believe we will get him signed before the season starts, but somebody's got to budge. Revis right now is like a kid who pouts because he didn't get the toy he wanted, but if we cave and give him what he wants, you lose respect for the organization for giving in to a spoiled child because that's what Revis is acting like.

It would solve the issue for us. he would just become somebody else's issue. At this point (yes i know he is the best CB in the league) i'd take a #1 CB, a 1st rounder and a 4th rounder. Then we can pay cromartie and use him and our other CB we traded for and wilson in the slot. also we can use the extra picks becuase we always trade them away. with the money saved we can sign mangold and harris and BE and holmes probably.

Since I heard he is a holdout Ive been saying Trade His Ass, Ive come down a notch to Stand Firm. This is not a good precedent to set. First it was Chris Johnson In Tennessee, now revis. Will it be the new trend in sports for athletes who are under contract to holdout for more money like this?

Had Al Davis not drivin up the market on Aso Revis would be signed and everything would be all warm and fuzzy.

They had to sign him for more then he was worth because of it being Oakland. They needed to overpay. It was only a 3-year deal for that reason.

Woody Johnson: ‘I’m Open’ to Visiting Revis
Posted by Randy Lange on August 2, 2010 – 4:30 pm

Calling Darrelle Revis “maybe the best player we have,” Jets owner Woody Johnson offered to meet with the star cornerback, who’s opened training camp as a holdout for the second time in four NFL summers.

“The lines of communication are open. I’m open,” said Johnson. “If Darrelle wants me to visit him, I’ll go down and see him — wherever he is — and talk to him and his family and express my feelings about him.”

Revis, who is under contract, believes he should get a contract that makes him the game’s highest-paid corner. Back in February 2009, the Raiders reportedly signed CB Nnamdi Asomugha to a three-year contract worth $45.3 million, including $28.5 million guaranteed.

“The sticking point is total compensation,” Johnson said of his club’s negotiations with Revis. “We haven’t talked about any of those other issues. We’d be happy to do it because I think we’re going to be very flexible.”

The Jets don’t discuss contract numbers publicly, but they say Revis has outworked his current deal and they want to come up with a solution that will work for both sides.

“We know how good of a player Darrelle is. … We drafted him, so he’s our guy,” Johnson said. “We want to give him something that he’s comfortable with but also something the team is comfortable with — make it a two-sided deal.”

Johnson, very confident in GM Mike Tannenbaum, who in June signed a contract extension, will rely on Mike T to do what’s best for the organization.

“I hired him and extended him because I think he has very good judgment,” Johnson said. “I’m not going to pose my judgment on him, saying, ‘Well, I don’t like this deal,’ ‘I like this deal.’ If he comes to me with a recommendation and says, ‘Woody, I think this is fair for us and I think this is a good deal for Revis,’ then we’ll do it today. We’ll do it this afternoon.”

Out of the three available in the poll I chose Revis because he is the one who has decided to hold out. He's supposedly been offered plenty of deals so management are obviously working on it. But - as has been pointed out - they are constrained by the CBA and by the looming threat of a lockout next season, so their hands are somewhat tied. The deal will get done eventually though, and then it will be back to happy families.

It's all Revis. No doubt in my mind. He knows what's going on with the CBA and he's STILL acting like a punk. I remember two years ago when he went out and let his play do the talking for him.
