It's a big circle...
Fans want to see better teams, in bigger stadiums, with cheerleaders, and pep rally's and state-of-the-art practice facilities to attract more expensive free agents!
Someone has to pay for it!
No one is at fault here, it is just the nature of things. If something is going to get this popular it will become more and more extravagant and therefore more and more expensive.
Exactly, its all economics. It works both ways. the ticket prices aren't high just cause the owners, and not just cause the players either. Its a combination of Both. And anyone who has done finances for a business knows this.
For instance lets say a ford dealership hires a mechanic at 20 an hour. He has to bill him out at 105 and hour to cover overhead, payroll taxes, benefit, rent, tools, equipment, admin people, etc. now if eveyrone starts making 25 an hour they will have to raise their rates a bit to help cover it. Its basic economics , which unfortunately most people don't understand. If you want to blame one side o high prices blame yourself. The fans. If we didn't tune in TV ratings would go down, ads would cost less, if we didn't go to games the ticket prices would go down to avoid blackouts etc. WE the fans set the market by using the product. Football is in high demand and the NFL is the best supply out there so they can set high rates. the AFL doens't cost that much for a ticket. why do you think that is? Cause the people aren't buying it. why do you think a 30 second commerical for the SB cost like 5 millions dollars? cause over 100 million people watch it!
