Chaos Icon : (14 February 2015 - 04:00 PM) no rush to cut them now
Chaos Icon : (14 February 2015 - 04:01 PM) they both cost 125k to keep now and are not guaranteed a roster spot. they can get cap savings by removing them later
Chaos Icon : (14 February 2015 - 04:01 PM) 125k each. 250k total.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 February 2015 - 05:19 PM) I think they should keep Babin, he was actually our best pass rusher last season despite 2 sacks. He had a lot of QB pressures in limited snaps.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 February 2015 - 05:20 PM) There are some good edge rushers available in FA, I hope we sign one

ganggreen2003 Icon : (15 February 2015 - 11:23 PM) Babin being brought back isn't a big deal but Pace really?
azjetfan Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:43 AM) There is no guarantee either will be on the roster opening day. This gives the Jets the most options in FA and the draft. For once I would love to see Jet fans not jump before the need
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:39 PM) I'd cut Pace, we easily can upgrade over him in FA
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (16 February 2015 - 12:40 PM) Babin I'd keep , he had more QB pressures in way less snaps than Pace. And is cheap.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (17 February 2015 - 11:27 PM) its time to bring this back..........

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 February 2015 - 12:28 PM) Reports say Jets to go hard after CJ Spiller. Bring him aboard, he'll be a good signing. Was a stud in Chan's offense and RBs don't cost much
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:09 PM) Saw that the Bills are meeting with Spiller and may sign him before FA.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:10 PM) if that happens, I think the Jets should go after Shane Vereen. Nice pass catching option out of the backfield, only 25.
Smedsthejet Icon : (20 February 2015 - 04:06 PM) Think Vereen would be a great option...I thought he was one of their best and most valuable performers during the playoffs and we need a back who can contribute in the passing game as well. Jets have been missing that piece since LT retired

Antonio Cromartie says it wasn't his fault he struggled to name his eight kids on this week's episode of "Hard Knocks." The blame instead lies with an unnamed HBO director, who made the New York Jets cornerback do two takes of the lengthy list, or so says Cromartie.

First, if you haven't watched the video of Cromartie laboring to remember the names of Alonzo, Keris, Myjunia, "my daughter who just turned 3 yesterday", Tyler, London, Lelani and Jersey, go ahead and watch it now. And if you already have seen it, I have no doubt you'll be watching it again because it's the greatest thing that's been on TV this year.

Anyway, Cromartie says the whole scene was staged. He told reporters that the director asked him to redo it because he wasn't pausing long enough between answers and that he had no trouble listing the names the first time.

"I had nailed it the one time before," he said, "but they had to redo it and they just told me to pause between each one of [the names]."

That quote sums up the beauty of this whole thing. Cromartie is proud of himself that he "nailed" the naming of his kids the first time. He's felt he achieved something, sort of like that one time I was able to name all the Supreme Court justices.

I'm not naive enough to believe that reality shows aren't scripted and staged (as I wrote in the recap of this week's episode, everything in "Hard Knocks" with Mike Tannenbaum feels contrived, as do a few scenes with Mark Sanchez), but I also don't believe Antonio Cromartie would willingly agree to look like an idiot on national television nor that he's a good enough actor to sell the fact that he was grasping for the names. I mean, look at his face in the picture above. That's the expression of a man feeling the sting of short-term memory loss. It's like how I feel when a woman in a bar asks me if I remember her name (a feeling I'm sure Antonio Cromartie knows all too well).

HBO denied the accusation and said in a statement that everyone involved in the scene confirmed it was done in one take.

What? A man seemingly searching the back of his head to remember the names of his kids doesn't phase you? I'm as cynical as the next man but when I was watching that, I was half laughing half thinking "If this ign'ant muthafucka can't keep the names of his kids straight, how's he gonna memorize our playbook?!". No, it doesn't make him a "bad man" in the traditional sense... but not remember the names of your kids is in some ways worse. If it was staged, that's fucked up on a few different levels. If it wasn't and Cro is looking for an excuse to make himself look better... he's definitely in the running for 2010 Dad of the Year with Lawrence Fishburn.

True secondhands...I know what you mean. But, for some of those kids he probably has little to no interaction with them.

I feel bad for him honestly...dude must have some potent little sailors.

If I had 14 kids or whatever he has I would not be able to tell you all there ages and names without thinking first. Keep in mind he probably never sees the majority of them and they are all young so he has not had time to get it strait. I have no problem with remembering the names. I do see some shinanagins with having that many kids with that many different women.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.
