Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (30 April 2016 - 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.
Smedsthejet Icon : (01 May 2016 - 06:17 AM) But Chan Gailey runs a spread system - still, I'm comfortable with the Hackenberg pick seeing as Gailey will develop the system to suit his strength... I'm just glad that we passed on Paxton Lynch in the first...we still desperately need Fitz to re-sign though
azjetfan Icon : (01 May 2016 - 07:14 PM) From my understanding the spread in college and the spread in NFL are not the same principals. I really think it was more of a talent issue and getting sacked 80 times in 2 years that did him in. I have no idea if he will make it. I don't follow college ball enough to to know. Theses are just things I read in articles.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 10:24 AM) I'm stoked about getting peake in the 7th round. that was a steal. he was a projected 3rd rounder. wonder what scared teams away

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) The Jets had Hackenberg as their #2 rated QB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) Apparently, they loved Golf and tried to trade up. When that failed, their #2 QB was Hackenberg, they fell in love with his football IQ
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:17 PM) It would be a mistake to start him right away, hes a guy who needs development. He has the talent, and apparently he has good leadership skills and football IQ. His mechanics are off though
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco was fined $25,000 Tuesday for violating two NFL game policies - possession of an electronic device and posting messages on a social media site - during the Bengals' preseason win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 20.
.

LOL why don't they see this guy is good for the NFL and lighten up a bit on him?

25k is a 20 dollar bill to us.

And they have to enforce the rules, it isn't like 85 cares either way.

But I do agree, it's annoying.

I still don't understand how holmes smokes pot and loses 4 games, vick dog fights (which is a horrible act, don't get me wrong) and loses 2 years and goes to prison, plax shoots himself loses his career and goes to prison, yet big ben rapes like 20 women and gets a 6 game suspension? That is all.

The difference between Vick and Burress and Roethlisberger is the fact the former two have been found guilty in a court of law while Big Ben is yet to be.

Ochocinco does add fun to the league and he is a great character, but I can understand the rules about tweeting during a game. Although given it was preseason the league could have been a bit more lenient. Anyway, doesn't that money go to charity as it is?

Holmes = busted smoking pot

Vick = convicted of dog fighting

Plaxico = convicted of the gun charge

Big Ben = not convicted of anything.

Oh and what does this have to do with 85? He wasn't suspended.

I think they settled out of court and that's the reason Big Ben got the suspension.

Thanks for the Memories

They need to leave Ocho alone. He's one of the best PR people the league has. Fining him for likely posting something on Twitter? Come on. There's hundreds if not thousands of fans that tune in just to see what kind of crazy shit he'll pull each week.

I thought it was great when he dared to league to fine him for wearing pink cleats for the entire month of October to support breast cancer awareness. What a PR disaster for that NFL that would have been if they did.

ocho is one of my favorite non jets players. He isn't the reciever he once was anymore, but he is still one of the most entertaining guys who truly loves the game and his team. Hes the perfect temate, you never hear any complaints from his teamates or coaches, and he works hard and just enjoys playing like a kid.

The one thing that stands out to me that I respect the living hell out of Ocho for is that he SHOWS that he's not in the game for the money. He's in it for the love of the game and for the fans. If he was in it for the money, he'd surely not be doing the things he does and gets fined for.

A lot of other players around the league could learn a lot from him. I'd take him on the Jets in a heartbeat. Even with his skills not being what they once were, he's still a premiere receiver in this league.

I can honestly say everytime I hear Ben Rapistburgers name I shake my head and realize even though I love my country it has its problems. I know he was not convicted but he is as guilty as you get.

I look at it this way the rule for no electronic devices is there for a purpose.

One..... to keep teams from cheating and two..... to keep the game disciplined.

All of you are crying about him getting fined because he broke a rule. If coaches were using electronic devices for cheating youd be bitching. If your favorite team really sucked and all the players were on cellphones or playing video games on the sidelines youd be bitching.

The rule is there for a reason and he broke it. If the league starts being lenient on rules that are rightfully in place then who is to say it wouldnt start a problem with multiple players and coaches, etc. having devices.

How could you prove there wouldnt be cheating and many unfocused players?????

Good rule and justified fine.

AH, a voice of reason! You have a job(catch the football, score a touchdown, throw an occassional block)You get paid very well, there are rules and regulations. Break the rules, suffer the consequences. It IS that simple. In the real working world,if you continually thumb your nose to the employer, you'll probably find yourself somewhere else. By the way, does this ENTERTAINER not have his own TV show that one could watch to enjoy all of his hijinx and funniness?

Wasn't Bill Bellichump fined only $50,000 personally for his instructing videographers & other people to steal signals, etc in the whole Spygate scandal? Sending out a Tweet from his blackberry doesn't seem half as bad as what Bellichump did so why should the fine be so unbalanced?

I understand the need for discipline but c'mon. Let's actually take a look at the action, the surroundings and the circumstances surrounding the violation. He tweeted during a PRESEASON game. So what? I hope he appeals the fine and wins. The NFL needs more players like him.

Belichick was fined $500,000 rather than just 50 grand. They also lost a first round pick and, if I remember correctly, the Patriots organisation was hit with a whopping fine.
