Geno injured, IK cut, Amish Rifle starting - http://nyjetsfan.com...showtopic=38773
santana Icon : (14 August 2015 - 09:02 PM) fitz is probably the best qb the jets have had in the last 3/4 years
santana Icon : (14 August 2015 - 09:02 PM) depressing
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:13 PM) depressing but true
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:13 PM) Fitzpatrick can play at a average level, the Jets have had QB play on the below average level
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:13 PM) Fitzpatrick not being mentioned as a NFL worst starter is a upgrade for this team
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:14 PM) He could throw for 25 TDs if he starts every game
Chaos Icon : (14 August 2015 - 11:18 PM) 2009 with a Favre and Rex pairing could have been special
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 August 2015 - 09:20 PM) ok so who thinks geno has played his last game of his JETS career?
ganggreen2003 Icon : (16 August 2015 - 09:23 PM) I honestly think his JETS career is knocked out like that right hand by IK
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 August 2015 - 08:50 PM) why the hell can't the JETS ever get it right
ganggreen2003 Icon : (17 August 2015 - 08:50 PM) are we doomed for all eternity?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (18 August 2015 - 01:56 PM) kerly might be losing his job to a younger WR
GreenDude Icon : (18 August 2015 - 06:34 PM) We just signed Matt Flynn
santana Icon : (18 August 2015 - 07:02 PM) FLYNNNNSANITYYY
santana Icon : (18 August 2015 - 07:02 PM) hype hype hype
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Which receiver is Kerley losing his job to?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:31 PM) Kerley is still gonna be our slot receiver. Devin Smith is a outside WR, deep threat and hes gonna be out for a bit.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 12:32 PM) though Brandon Marshall likes playing in the slot at times and does work there
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 01:27 PM) he's apparently battling (and losing to) enuiwa
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 01:28 PM) enunwa^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:26 PM) I haven't heard about that
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:28 PM) I read how kerley has been uncover able one on one
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:57 PM) http://www.nj.com/je...ey_backups.html
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 August 2015 - 02:57 PM) http://nypost.com/20...appearing-role/
Smedsthejet Icon : (19 August 2015 - 03:03 PM) Any news on how Shaq Evans is performing?
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:12 AM) http://nypost.com/20...ricks-of-trade/
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:12 AM) sounds like the jets think kerly is too small for what they want
Jetsfan115 Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:13 AM) if enunwa is our 3rd WR that gives us 3 starting Wrs over 6-2. compared to the 5'7 kerly.
RetireChrebet Icon : (20 August 2015 - 11:32 PM) Hopefully enunwa pans out. The jets need to start catching talent in he late rounds like most successful teams do.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (21 August 2015 - 03:05 PM) MT did for us
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 06:49 PM) Well it's only pre season but I don't enjoy watching them walk right over our defense
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:20 PM) Looks like nothing has changed from the last 5 years. Our offense is still trash
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:50 PM) Damn petty has a rocket arm!
MikeGangGree... Icon : (21 August 2015 - 07:54 PM) Kellen Davis sucks
Mr_Jet Icon : (22 August 2015 - 12:40 PM) Bryce Petty looked really good last night.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 04:56 PM) He took some big steps from week one. There is no question. If he continues to progress like that we may be chanting for him sooner than expected. I love his arm.
azjetfan Icon : (22 August 2015 - 06:56 PM) Sanchez looks like Drew Bree's today
MikeGangGree... Icon : (25 August 2015 - 01:24 PM) WOOOOOOOO Ric Flair!
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:45 PM) The guy in the fantasy league who said we're scared of Santana... is clearly santana.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:45 PM) just sayin
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:45 PM) im only half serious
santana Icon : (Today, 09:30 AM) Also i suspect that santana
santana Icon : (Today, 09:30 AM) might be santana
santana Icon : (Today, 01:35 PM) Tough draw for Liverpool
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 02:21 PM) Suarez second best in Europe... pretty good

The Year the Jets Tackled Television

*
By JASON GAY

If America can sustain interest in the lives of not one, or two, but three Kardashian sisters, it can tolerate the New York Jets. That is one presumption guiding the latest season of "Hard Knocks," the HBO documentary series which, like a truffle hunter, believes that intrigue can be found in the muck of the NFL preseason.

Previous editions of "Hard Knocks" have chronicled teams like the Baltimore Ravens, the Cowboys of Dallas and, of course, the 2007 Kansas City Chiefs, who would go on to spellbind the nation with a 4-12 season. This year, the Turtle & Drama network has chosen the Jets, a confident if tormented franchise fueled by generations of mocking disrespect. What's next? A group of spray-tanned New Jersey kids getting a hit show on MTV?

Surely by now you've heard that the star of "Hard Knocks" is Rex Ryan, the brash, oversized tactician who, in between fistfuls of M&Ms, has emerged as New York's most charismatic coach in ages. Most NFL coaches are tightly-wound doorknobs, but the 47-year-old Mr. Ryan is unbridled id—he says what he thinks, even if he thinks unspeakable things, like the Jets will win the Super Bowl. He's already been bashed for cursing too much in "Hard Knocks," but it was more shocking that anyone was shocked.

Cursing football coaches? What's next? Frustrated wide receivers?

We wished "Hard Knocks" divulged more eccentric Jet behavior—revealing, for example, that general manager Mike Tannenbaum spends one day each week constructing a family of stuffed pandas at the Build-A-Bear Workshop. But the action through the first two "Hard Knocks" has been dutifully conventional: struggling rookies, wily veterans, scrappy assistant coaches. An NFL camp naturally has the arc of a reality show—strangers meet in a single location with bad furniture, fight it out, flourish, or get sent home to obscurity, or worse, a contract with the Oakland Raiders.

Still, it's not easy to make this compelling. Preseason NFL football is considered the most meaningless sporting activity on earth, next to Pittsburgh Pirates baseball. At times "Hard Knocks" appears inorganically goosed, like when Jets legend Joe Namath arrives at camp wearing a pair of white shorts ratcheted at his navel, and Bob Denver's haircut. One empathizes with the banal life of the "Hard Knocks" crew, lugging heavy equipment to a movie theater to film Mr. Ryan taking his men to "Dinner with Schmucks." The Frozen Tundra, this is not.

But it looks great. It sounds great, too—thanks to the mellifluous baritone of the New York actor Liev Schreiber, who somehow makes honey out of turgid lines like "Ryan has plenty of brio, but he's also got bona fides." Edited on the fly, "Hard Knocks" is less a documentary than it is a tone poem—it emotes and mythologizes, sometimes too enthusiastically, as it did when Mr. Schreiber intoned that the holdout of cornerback Darrelle Revis was "the biggest story of the NFL preseason."

Oh, really? Somebody tell that 40-year-old drama junkie up in Minnesota with the copters over his head.

So far, Mr. Revis has avoided the HBO spotlight, which reveals something about the star and the culture of his team. Despite all the Super Bowl buzz and Mr. Ryan's potty mouth, this "Hard Knocks" is proving that the 2010 Jets are less a team of flashy extroverts than they are working stiffs. They want to win, but are content to let the coach suck up the oxygen. There is no Jet who is one-hundredth as kooky as Roger Mayweather, the boxing coach and Cosmo Kramer of the peerless HBO boxing series, 24/7.

Except for, perhaps: cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who stole the last "Hard Knocks" with an interview in which he methodically listed the names and ages of his eight children, at least four of whom appear to be around three years of age, and are not twins, triplets or quadruplets.

It was the type of you-had-to-see it moment that makes all the downtime worth it. You know, just like watching an NFL game.

Good read. We also locked up 3 MNF games, plus the slide scheduling... We'll be under the spotlight all year and that comes from 1 of 2 scenarios. We either rape everyone like Tom DuBois and the attention is on our dominance... Or we suck dick and everybody wants to watch us eat crow as we fall
