I hate this more than the TJ release, more than the Faneca release, more than the feely walking. this will hurt us more than any prior moves. replacing our veteran leader of the best part of our team , and replacing him with a 5th rd. rookie will NOT be ok.

This business is cutthroat. How can you not like T.Rich. The guy has been awesome since he's been here but T. Rich wasn't a real vocal leader. He brought a veteran presence but it's not like he was a vocal leader. Youth always wins in this league. I feel bad for him but i'm use to this.

Carrying 2 FB's is just hard to do.

we dont know what type o leader he was but sanchez did sat that T-rich was his biggest support during his rookie season. T- Rich was obviously mentoring the young FB's so to me to say he wasnt a vocal leader is foolish. We dont know whats said behind closed doors

Wow. Fuckin horse shit. Total f***ing horse shit. This organization has no problems treating players like shit. Not only was T-Rich a great presence and mentor, he also wrecks as a FB, why thrust a rookie in at a key position essential to smashmouth football? I love what Connor has shown, but godforbid his reckless abandon leads to an injury over the 16 game season.

I read a article on fanhouse and it said there is a good chance we bring him back after the first game like Coles do they don't have to guarantee there salary. Basically this boils down to Revis the selfish prick.

Agreed, and the Jets shot themselves in the foot by talking up the Terminator. If he was released to the PS, he would of been signed else where.

Hard Knocks was supppose to show the rest of the league that NY was the place to be. I don't see that being the case.

I wouldn't want to play for the organization. Yeah they extended Brick's and Mangold's contract. What about the Jets MVP one year in Washington, now Richardson mentoring the Terminator. The Jets don't reward this good behavior.

The only way you get a contract with the Jets is if you hold out like Revis did when you have leverage. If you leave it to the Jets, they will say what a geat person you were for the two years you were with the club....yada yada yada, the person will be missed in and outside of the lockeroom. Horseshit

Hopefully T-rich plays this right now and gets a job at least with the Jets organization or in the NY media. He does deserve this. the Jets have to do this. Do the right thing.

Wasn't conner t he number 1 rated fullback heading into this last draft? I don't think he was gonna make to the jets practice squad. even though its odd to hold on to two fullbacks, the quality we had with both guys would have been great for our running game.

granted, tony rich was a monster for the team and was still released, he'll be brought back for sure. we all know how pro he is and how classy he is, so why wouldn't he help the NY Jets sign Revis, then come back to the team?!?! thats whats going to happen, so don't worry guys. t-rich will be a NYJ this year.

does t-rich earn style points for his class and professionalism? hells fuckin yea he does. does he understand that he's about to get unseated @ the fullback position by a monster rookie? hells...fuckin...yea. so why wouldn't he want to do what all great players should do late in their careers? pass on their knowledge to the next stud coming in. he IS that kind of guy, after all.

...also, have you WATCHED Conner? the guy is an absolute monster. i've yet to see him NOT light somebody up. can he carry, or catch the ball as well as t-rich? no...obviously not. the fullback position is a rough one, and it's main focus is to knock the shit out of somebody. conner wins the starting job. the NYJ know what they're doing.

i'd still very much want to play for this organization.

But according to espn.com that will only save the team $50,000 per player, which seems stingy - and somewhat hypocritical given the amount doled out to DBrick, Mangold and now Revis - of the Revis. I understand that those three are more integral to the team's success, but surely every player - from the most talented on the roster to the long snapper - should be treated with equal respect?
I also don't understand bringing back Richardson and possibly Coles too after week one. If they are good enough to be on the roster, they should be on it for the season opener regardless if it means the front office have to shell an extra 100k or so. It also gives the impression that the front office are happy to go into week one with a slightly weakened roster. T-Rich and Coles will both be backups, but one has been replaced by a rookie, who - although impressing in preseason - could falter against such a tough defence, and the latter has been replaced by a former third round pick who hardly made the field for his former team.

Why are you all crying over this? T Rich was good but it's not like he's irreplaceable. Who would you rather have clearing the hole? A 38 year old or a 22 year old with freh everything? Or maybe you guys think it's a good idea to carry 2 FBs and have one less LB or CB, so when Payton carves us up again, hey, at least T Rich was here!

I hope so. Cutting T Rich is classless. I get it that two FB's are a roster no-no but how can you ut a leader like that. He'd better be resigned.
