azjetfan Icon : (14 April 2014 - 03:44 PM) 18. New York Jets -- Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State: Surprised? Yes, the Jets need a receiver, but it's the deepest receiver draft in years, and they can find a good one in the second round. This would mark the fifth straight year with a defensive pick in Round 1.
Chaos Icon : (14 April 2014 - 03:51 PM) is he better than Gilbert, Dennard, and Fuller?
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 April 2014 - 03:56 PM) In my biased opinion I don't think he's better than Dennard.

Chris Johnson’s visit with #Jets today went well, from what it sounded like. It’s over now. Nothing final yet, other teams still circling
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 08:25 PM) I think he's just stating the obvious but whatever it's an update

My money says there is a plan in place that involves him coming back. He probably is not even looking @ other teams right now. He will probably get another small signing bonus for the trouble. I dont see how it benifits the Jets but it just feels this way.

Why are you all crying over this? T Rich was good but it's not like he's irreplaceable. Who would you rather have clearing the hole? A 38 year old or a 22 year old with freh everything? Or maybe you guys think it's a good idea to carry 2 FBs and have one less LB or CB, so when Payton carves us up again, hey, at least T Rich was here!

ESPNNewYork.com

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- After one day of unemployment, fullback Tony Richardson returned to the New York Jets, re-signing Monday after being cut Sunday in a procedural move.

"I know there were a lot of nervous people," said coach Rex Ryan. The Jets needed three roster spots Sunday after acquiring three players on waivers. They cut wide receiver David Clowney, running back Chauncey Washington and Richardson -- a move that stunned and angered some players. Those players weren't aware of the team's strategy when they made comments to ESPNNewYork.com. As a vested veteran, Richardson wasn't exposed to waivers. He became a free agent and the Jets were "very confident" they'd be able to re-sign him, Ryan said. To make room for Richardson's return, the Jets waived rookie cornerback Brian Jackson. They didn't want to release Jackson on Sunday; they wanted to wait until Darrelle Revis' contract was finalized before cutting a cornerback. By midday, it was apparent that Richardson was coming back. His locker at the Jets' training facility was intact. Everything was still in it, from practice jerseys to shampoo to toothpaste. It didn't look like the locker of a player who was gone for good. In the end, the one day in limbo didn't cost Richardson any pay. If he had been re-signed after Week 1, he would've lost one game check ($50,000) and the balance of his $855,000 wouldn't have been guaranteed. Ryan said Richardson will play against the Ravens in the opener.

Some players still were upset that Richardson was used as a pawn in the unconventional chess game. One player said it was a "[crappy]" thing to do. Several said they were stunned when they heard the news late Sunday. "It was jaw dropping," said tight end Dustin Keller, who has the locker next to Richardson. "I couldn't believe it. He's our top veteran on offense. If we become the Super Bowl team we want to be, to do it without him would be tough. "T. Rich has been a mentor to so many guys on this team, especially myself." I disagree about drama, T-rich is a great locker room guy. and mentor to "The Terminator" Did anyone really wanna see him try to block Ray Lewis week 1? It would wreck all confidence he has. As for lack of leadership, its a big problem so if we have to bite the bullet and risign T-rich fine, plus he can still play.
