Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:12 PM) chuck norris said tebow is a great QB. i'm so conflicted becuase tebow sucks but on the other hand if chuck norris said it, it must be true lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) Geno was not the favorite to win the heisman going into the year lol
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:21 PM) you don't watch college football, stop
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:23 PM) He might not even of been in the second tier of players
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) I've read a ton of articles and all had him as the favorite
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:25 PM) Who was the favorite then?
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) "Smith was already going to be on most Heisman preseason lists, but a 407-yard, 6-TD performance in the Orange Bowl win over Clemson only solidified him as an elite passer. He can make every throw on the field and has a plethora of talented receivers coming back. Since this team will likely be playing in the Big 12, which has had the uncanny knack for inflating quarterback numbers recently, Smith and head coach Dana Holgorsen are going to leave opposing defenses charred and crippled on most Saturdays."
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) That's from a Jan 2012 article
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:27 PM) You can google shit from 14 months ago and find a f*** ton of these

SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 09:32 PM) He was 4th according to Vegas odds in April 2012
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) 4th makes him the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) you said he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:53 PM) he wasn't anything near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) he reached his pinnacle in the heisman race in the early part of last season
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:54 PM) at that point he was the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:56 PM) also, what a basketball game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) 4 point game
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 10:21 PM) maybe the pacers are that good
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) I said that his time last year, he was the favorite. I misspoke. He was 3rd or 4th. He certainly wasn't "not even in the 2nd tier" like you claimed
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Take your medicine Matty
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 12:36 AM) Maybe you should watch more college football instead of talking about watching college football
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:46 AM) No he wasn't 3rd or 4th
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) He was the 4th favorite in vegas, making him no where near the favorite
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:47 AM) Barkley had 3/2 odds, Geno was 9-1
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 06:48 AM) It's whatever
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 10:50 AM) Manish leaving jets beat
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 10:51 AM) About time
SecondHandJets Icon : (Today, 11:22 AM) Was he "not even in the 2nd tier"? No. STFU
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:25 AM) Was he the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:26 AM) Or even close to the favorite?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:27 AM) Nice Manish leaving? Good shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 11:43 AM) SHJ, your boy EJ leads a very sad life
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 11:57 AM) haha why do you say that
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 12:03 PM) I'm friends with SHJ on Facebook and I replied "TEH KNICKS" then EJ recognized my name and started commenting saying shit
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Today, 12:04 PM) He then goes "yeah and f*** the Knicks" I wanted to tell him he doesn't know what that joke is because he's banned

I think I have a bright side, albeit small but still a bright side to Revis holding out. Assuming he did remain training and continues to play at a high level, his absence allowed Wilson and Cromartie to face top receivers in a new defensive scheme to them. Now when the season starts, shit should seem easier for them because they now are gonna face talent a notch below, thus making them better corners which is pretty f***ing scary if you ask me.

Very true. I can't wait to see how well those three play against Tom Brady and the Pats recievers in week 2.

Yes...and no. Now Wilson has to step into the slot. Which is a whole different animal from playing on the outside. There you can use the sideline as a extra defender...in the slot the WR can go either direction and you can't force him into the sideline. It's no easy task...the Jets had no choice but to get Wilson ready to start and play the outside in case Revis never showed up...but now that Revis is here Wilson is going to be behind a bit on his nickel skills.

I can see why you would say this but I think he'll be fine. There is a reason all teams play their #3 and #4 corner in the slot, your dealing with slower and most of the time shorter recievers. Wilson's natural athleticism and knowledge for the game will help him in this matter.

I was thinking this exact same thing earlier today. With the Ravens signing Housh, I imagine he will be their slot guy, so that will be some work for Wilson. I hope he has a great week of practice against J-Co.

it depends. in general the slot WR is the 3rd best reciever on the team. somtimes their fast but lack the route running ability or hands or both. sometimes they run good routes and have good hands but lack elite speed. look at us. cochery will be the slot guy cause he doesn't have the speed of holmes or the size and speed of BE, but he is a great route runner and has great hands. look at a team like the saints whose slot guy is henderson who lacks consistant hands or route running ability but is a burner.

Ok, so yea you talk about Cotchery so you are sorta fixing what you said, but the slot receiver isnt always the 3rd best receiver on the team, with bad route running ability and slower. It all depends on the offense.

Look at the Patriots. Wes Welker is the best OVERALL receiver they have and he is in the slot, why? because he works best in the slot working on lbs and safties and he is the best at reading coverages. Yes welker is on the slower side, but his quickness more than makes up for it. A slot receiver needs to be very good at reading what the defense is going to do and adjusting based on that. And some

Also, Henderson is NOT a slot receiver, he is the #2. Meachem is the slot. On top of that Henderson USED TO have inconsistant hands. Last year he was very sure handed and reliable. He is still a burner though.

So the slot is not just where u stick your 3rd best receiver who cant run routes, its where you put your guy who can make tough catches over the middle, read zones well, and HAS to run good routes otherwise he is ineffective.

once again i said IN GENERAL its your 3rd best WR. i never said always. the gianbst did it alot with the other Steve smith last year. he was their number 1 but they used in him the slot alot to give him favorable match-ups. the colts use all their WRs in the slot at one time or another including reggie wayne. and henderson is the number 2 but in 3 wide sets he usually played the slot with meachem and colston on the outside.
