Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:14 PM) There are some decent FAs I hope we go after, we have like $48 mil in cap space, plus more once we get rid of Chris Johnson and Calvin Pace.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:14 PM) We'll have over $50 mil to spend
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:52 PM) sign everyone!!!!
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:54 PM) I'd love to grab Cobb, Julius Thomas, and Mike Iupati
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:56 PM) Lol for someone who doesn't like me and doesn't pay attention to what I have to say, GG sure loves talking about me
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:56 PM) It's ok though buddy I love you
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 08:57 PM) We just need a QB to throw to them
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:17 PM) Cobb isn't leaving the Packers
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:18 PM) I hope we keep Harvin
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:28 PM) I like Harvin but I don't think we should pay him that much
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:29 PM) but if we can get a WR keep him
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:40 PM) idk how cap works sometime
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:41 PM) how can Denver have 31 mil in space?
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:43 PM) but I guess since they have to pay both Thomas this year that will go fast
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 January 2015 - 09:45 PM) and have to pay miller next year
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:20 PM) Are they not counting PEyton Manning?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:22 PM) A lot of their players increase cap hits after this season
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:22 PM) you can work the numbers
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:25 PM) if we release Harvin, we won't get him back most likely. Hes the most dynamic offensive player we have had in a while.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:26 PM) Plus he has no guaranteed money so we can release him at any time for no cap hits. Maybe they can rework his contract, but I hope we keep him
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:26 PM) I think he will awesome in Chan's offense, maybe worth the $10 mil
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:40 PM) We still have to pay Mo too
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:47 PM) yup. We also happen to be in the big years of Mangolds' and Brick's contracts
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:48 PM) Brick either restructures after this season or is released, noway he stays at $14 mil
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:48 PM) I think he does restructure though, can't imagine Brick wanting to play elsewhere. I see him as a career Jet
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:51 PM) need to re-sign Demario Davis and Damon Harrison as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:52 PM) they shouldn't cost much though
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:57 PM) I'd really love to bring in Franklin or Iupati
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:59 PM) Franklin, Iupati, or Boling I would be happy with. We need a good OG.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 January 2015 - 10:59 PM) I think that Oday would be fine as a starter for one spot, he showed promise. Plus it would be a competition between Oday, Winters, and Dozier.
Chadforpresi... Icon : (Yesterday, 12:31 PM) Iupati would be a great signing. If Harvin doesn't restructure I would not be opposed to cutting him
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:47 PM) See this is why you can't be taken seriously harlem
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:47 PM) Orlando Franklin is a FLAG machine
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:48 PM) he'd just be our 2014 version of Colon
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:48 PM) HELL NO TO ORLANDO
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:42 PM) Still paying attention to what I say, huh?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:43 PM) You are the wind beneath my wiiiiiiiings
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:46 PM) 0099 said he'd be happy with Franklin too, but you only bitch about when I said it. Seems legit
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:12 PM) it is legit cause you're wasting bandwith with that bullsh*t
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:43 PM) Wasting bandwidth saying I want a certain player when someone else said they wanted the exact same player?

HarlemHxC814 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:44 PM) Like I said GG I still love you

In follow up to this, I got a very enticing Trade offer this morning:

I give:
Steve Smith (Panthers)
Hakeem Nicks
Ryan Mathews

I get:
Brandon Marshall
Anquan Boldin
Knowshon Moreno

and in a shocking movement, Beanie Wells was dropped this morning, I can pick him up for Big Ben as a backup RB.

This is a no-brainer right?

Hell no I wouldn't do that trade. First off, Matthews is a pure #1. Moreno is hurt and there are alot more options in Denver. Matthews is going to get far more carries than Moreno and it's not even close.

Marshall is going to have his share of catches but so is Steve Smith, so that's a wash to me.

Boldin is a question mark in my opinion. He won't have Larry Fitzgerald opposite him and say what you want about Warner, he is, as far as fantasy goes, far ahead of Flacco. Nicks isn't a big name but he's Eli's favorite target and will be the Giant's #1 (The Giants Steve Smith caught the most passes, but Nicks and Eli have been working all off season and Nicks was the one WR that went to live with Eli during the off season plus the Giants defense and running game stink so they will be in a bunch of shoot outs).

To recap, you'll be giving up the better RB (by far), the better WR (in Nicks, IMO) and getting back Marshall who is basically like the guy you're giving away, S Smith. You're downgrading at 2 positions without a single glaring upgrade.

For him. He has the "name factor" in Marshall and Boldin, but Smith and Nicks are pretty comparable. I don't think the upside between the two backs is even close.

Last season Marshall and Boldin combined for about 190 receptions for 2100 yards and 14 TDs. Smith and Nicks produced about 110 receptions for 1700 yards and 13 TDs. On the surface it looks like Marshall and Boldin are the better pair by a far bit, but both were in offenses that emphasized passing, but now have to fit in with more run based teams. They'll still be good, but Smith and Nicks won't need to adjust. To me, just in receiver, that trade is a wash.

On the running backs it isn't even a comparison. Matthews is in a stud offense were the coach is planning on using him a lot. Moreno was okay last season, but never had a big time game. If Matthews is trusted by the team enough to run the ball a bit more than they did with Tomlinson the last two seasons he has the potential for an easy 12 TDs and a solid block of yards.

f***!!! I wish you guys responded quicker. I accepted the trade! Well, i was worried about losing Mathews but figured he had somewhat rookie risk and I was better off with 3 studs at WR and playing the matchups between greene and Charles who should both be studs anyway.

SHJ responded within half an hour, that seems pretty good on a Saturday when not as many people are regularly checking the board.

Charles is overrated too in my opinion. People are all over him because of those last few games, but that was when a lot of teams were quitting and/or not game planning for him. It's a lot different when teams consider you enemy number one. Honestly though, that isn't a terrible trade. If you're comfortable with it, hey it's your team.

in one league my RBs are

rice, greene, harrison, charles, bush, stewart.

i can start 3 and i was gonna go with rice, harrison, and charles. you think i shouldn't Its a PPR league and b-more is tough which is why i opted out of greene, plus i think LT will get the red zone touches the first game. bush i can't start now anyway since he played so stewart is the only sub i have, but he did gash the giants for 200+ last year

Yeah, those guys are all solid starts in PPR leagues. I wonder what is more prevalent, PPR or non-PPR? I think that is one thing people should mention when asking for advice.

PPR rankings are way different. Starters that also catch three or four balls a game are gold. I know I rated guys a lot differently in our league knowing that the number of receptions would factor into it.

That's an impressive stable of backs, how many teams are in that league?

Yeah, I went after Ben in our league. I waited late to get McNabb (I actually was hoping for someone a little better than that, but they piled off at one point) because I was targeting Big Ben. He'll pay dividends late in the season when the Steelers are desperate for wins to make the playoffs.

Charles. Baltimore will be better against the run than the pass, and Moreno is on the injured list (probable, but still). Wells is doubtful, actually having been downgraded.
