Studs And Duds Opening game of the season

This loss to me falls squarely on the shoulders of Schottenheimer's shitty offense.
PS - Jetsman...you still think guards don't matter? Slauson almost got Sanchez's knee blown out. Every single player on the field matters...you can't have any weak links.

EVERYONE ELSE-
Mark Sanchez

Brian Schottenhiemer
Cromartie
Wilson
Agreed - I'd cut Cro and especially Wilson a little slack - over exposed against a blitz that didn't get it done
Add Greene - disaster...fumble changed the game
Rex/Pettine - arrogantly stuck to blitz despite getting repeatedly torched by Flacco or pens...OUTCOACHED...they read the blitz easily
Shotty - disgusting...highlight was the 3 runs leading to 3 and out...HE WAS AFRAID OF RAVENS REPUTATION DESPITE THEM HAVING A POOR SECONDARY...EPIC CHOKE..JETS FOOTBALL ???????
that was the worst o performance since Brister and co under Kotite

At halftime I knew I was putting Schottenheimer down as a dud, looking forward to it. Total, F'ing joke. At halftime did someone say, "hey Brian, try something different," or not? I think probably running on first, checking down to the running back, and then trying to throw deep on third probably was getting predictable to Baltimore. Terrible, terrible game calling. With a bad passing defense our running game was the focus; someone needs their ass chewed. And Mark got screwed on this game. All last season he was told to play conservative. He should have called his own USC plays on this one, because the run game did him nothing.
Having said that:
Duds:
Leonhard (all over the place, that one to heap you know Heap is faster)
Schotty
Greene (27 combined for the breakout player of the year)
Slauson
Rex Ryan
the ref who called the penalty on the FG
Wilson and Cro (more Wilson than Cro, at least he had a couple decent plays)
third down defense
Studs:
Revis
Tomlinson
Thomas
Weatherford
Beer (for the last three quarters)
A special mention dud to anyone saying Revis would cave in after Cro and Wilson played well early in the season. After the game our non-Revis CBs had he would be getting a 185+ million dollar contract.

Exterminate all rational thought, that is the conclusion I have come to

Man they sucked. Three run plays WTF !!! 0 confidence 0 creativity, get rid of SHOT OUT SHOTTY, his offense is plain out LAME and Pathetic !!!!
I AGREE ON THIS 100%
I am so f***ing sick of Brian Schottenheimer. I've been on this board for years now, you know me, I'm not a knee jerk reaction fan boy. But what the f*** man? SChottenheimer has never done anything with this offense. Five years and it's never been good, so can anyone tell me why people seem to think he's a good coordinator and a head coaching candidate?
This loss to me falls squarely on the shoulders of Schottenheimer's shitty offense.

The D must be disgusted...if I was Bart I'd be getting in someone's face. It's almost like they are playing ultra cautious in the expectation that the D can win it on it's own...pathetic. Playcalling and execution was appalling

The front seven - shut down Ray Rice the majority of the game and gave their offense hell during the opening quarter and a half
Revis - continually shut whoever - preodminantly Mason - he was covering
LT - a couple of good long runs, the only positive on offense
Duds:
Cromartie - bar the interception he was getting picked on and gave up too many catches
Wilson - a rough start to his career in his first competitive game. Gave up the penalty that led to the TD, but that wouldn't have occurred had Braylon not been called harshly for running into the kicker
Sanchez - whether Schottenheimer kept the reigns on him on purpose, I don't know, but Sanchez was far too tentative. I don't want him to be scared of throwing an interception, rather I want him to be as confident as he was in the postseason
Greene - the lack of touches in the second half showed how poor a game he had; I thought his fumbling issues were behind him
Playcalling on both sides of the ball - I love Rex's aggresive schemes on defence, but they do get predictable, and when you're constantly giving up conversions on third down surely there comes a time when you have to dial things down and give the CBs some safety help or mix in a couple of zones? Enough has been said about the offense already
Team discipline - far too many cheap penalties
Half duds:
Leonhard - how did he not beat the punter and take that return in the first half to the house?! He also IMO could have thrown a block at Flacco on Cro's INT return

Front 7 excellent.
The rest of the jokers need a huge wake up call. Stayed up until 3am to watch that display.
I've followed the Jets for almost 30 years and that was right up there with the worse performance ever.
The Pats will put 50 on us next week.
