I agree with:
No one should be running their mouth about the Dolphins. I don't care how ugly it was. They WON the football game. End of discussion. They found a way to win the game and I salute them.
Meanwhile, the Jets, as Frosty most astutely pointed out, embarrassed themselves yet again. Ryan has been running his big mouth since last season and he has gotten worse. I like Ryan. I do. I think he is an excellent defensive coach. But head coach? That remains to be seen. Training camp seemed to be more like a country club than anything else. And in the NFL, you are dealing with selfish, fat, lazy, overpaid players that really don't care what happens as long as they get paid. That means you cannot be everybody's friend. Kris Jenkins cares about winning. Jason Taylor cares about winning. But not everyone else does.
In this league, you walk tall with a soft step. If Ryan fully appreciated the history of this accursed franchise, he would understand that bravado is the last thing it needs. Even though I am fully aware he will not, Ryan needs to shut the fuk up and make sure his team remains focused. That means hitting the playbook. Staying late after practice. Especially Sanchez and his receivers.

Cam, once again, you have proven to be the voice of reason around here.

Your assessment of Lebatard. I'm sorry Frosty, you know I am as objective a Jet fan as there is, but Dan Lebetard is a horrible talk show host. Just the sound of his voice irritates me. I really want to punch him in the face. That rant is a perfect example. He is terribly obnoxious. And what is worse is that generally speaking, he THINKS he is funny and he is clearly not. And that idiot Stugots is a punching bag straw man for him. I'm embarrassed he is a Jets fan. Listen to Sid Rosenberg. He hates the Jets too. But he is usually spot on with his opinions. This is where I will defend New York. The sports analysts from up north know their teams and understand sports overall. Guys like Lebetard and George Sedano are embarrassing. They really are. They are 2 obnoxious, and I mean OBNOXIOUS julios that are on the air because there is nothing better down here. It is they and most, but not all of the fan base, that causes me to hate the Dolphins and the Heat.
Obviously your entitled to your opinion Cam. But let me say a few things before you go thinking that all sports radio down here is terrible. LeBatard isn't a sports analyst. His show is not based on discussing who will win the 2nd string OLB position. His show is not about discussing how many yards Ronnie Brown will run for. His show is mostly about mocking the sports norm and having some fun. I understand his show is not for everyone and I, at a time, hated his show for a while. But the show did grow on me. Its funny, different and puts a spin on sports radio. Theres a reason why his show has been at the number 1 spot in this market for years. People like it.
LeBatard might be a Miami guy, but what you probably miss on his show is that he ranks on the Dolphins almost, if not more, than he does on the Jets. After the 2007 season, LeBatard was doing a pre-game show for the Fins titled "The Fake Pre-game Show". The slogan was something to the effect of, "The Dolphins didn't field a real team last season, so they don't deserve a real pregame show". Thats pretty funny. But its that type of humor thats the basis for his show. Trust me, I realize he hates on the Jets ALOT, but thats part of his gig. Hes like that about everything on his show.
Sedano is no doubt a Miami homer. But I still enjoy his show. He gets on the Jets pretty good because he gets a massive influx of calls from Jet fans. Infact, theres 2-3 regular Jet callers that have become a staple of the show. The hate is funny and its all in good fun. Sort of like why I keep coming back here. I hate the Jets, but what would the rivalry be if the fans couldn't talk smack to one another? The same logic can be applied to his show.
Sid, God bless him, but I can't listen to his show. He can't go by one show without mentioning or implying how New York (the city) is better than Miami. Doesn't matter what it is that hes comparing. Restaurants, politics, media, sewer systems, roach motels, whatever. I get it, his agenda is to fire up the local people so he can get listeners. More power to him. But the guy really has no clue what hes talking about.
In THIS market, "real" sports talk doesn't do as well as what 790 the ticket has done. We got a great radio host in the Big O who knows his shit up and down and can break down just about anything football, and the man can't seem to find a consistent time slot because no one listens to his show. Why? People want to be entertained not, preached about who's 40 time was impressive in the draft or why the wildcat is an effective tool in Miami's offense.
Just something to think about bro. Again, your entitled to your opinion.
