Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 August 2014 - 04:01 PM) Holmes can still play, problem is that hes also a cancer. He wore out his welcome with the Jets
ganggreen2003 Icon : (29 August 2014 - 08:23 PM) did Hill get cut?
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (29 August 2014 - 09:00 PM) Haven't seen anything yet
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 August 2014 - 09:06 PM) Whos ready for the season!!? WOOOOO
azjetfan Icon : (30 August 2014 - 11:54 AM) Hill has been cut
MikeGangGree... Icon : (30 August 2014 - 01:24 PM) Who wants to take bets he ends up in NE
ROBJETS Icon : (30 August 2014 - 02:18 PM) We'll I guess you guys are fools then in thinking im a fool for being concerned. Do any of you even know that in 2013 the Jets gave up the most passing yards in the franchise since 1986? And our secondary right now is worse than last year right now. To not be concerned is utterly foolish.
ROBJETS Icon : (30 August 2014 - 02:19 PM) Unless our d-line has a monstrous year odds are the team will be eaten up in the pass. Every team will game plan to exploit the pass this year.
ROBJETS Icon : (30 August 2014 - 02:56 PM) Patterson got cut
flood555 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 03:24 PM) Patterson must have been a huge cancer to get cut
flood555 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 03:26 PM) is there a midseason draft? we need a DB!
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 03:58 PM) Our week 1 starting CBs will be Antonio Allen and Darrin Walls... wow
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 03:58 PM) interesting that Simms and Boyd were released
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 04:00 PM) No more McIntyre
ROBJETS Icon : (30 August 2014 - 05:20 PM) Pretty sure some of these cuts like Simms and McIntyre were made for removing some more cap space to try to find some decent corners and maybe another reliable wr. Possibly get some players cheap. I'd say the current 53 roster will change a good bit in the next week.
ROBJETS Icon : (30 August 2014 - 05:23 PM) I just hope Geno doesn't get hurt or we are horse f*cked. Vick sure as hell can't stay healthy for a full season. I guess the FO could also be think of picking up an old vet cut as 3rd qb. Simms is ok but I'd never trust him to win a regular season game if he was put in.
ROBJETS Icon : (30 August 2014 - 05:25 PM) Anyway it's going yo be an interesting week.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 10:18 PM) I doubt it was about freeing up money, considering we are way under. Like more than $20 mil, way more than enough to find some vet minimum CB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (30 August 2014 - 10:19 PM) it's more about the roster numbers. McIntyre was replaced by rookies. IK showed flashes when he played
bleedsgreen Icon : (31 August 2014 - 08:34 AM) McIntyre is a shock to me he was a solid backup and made some big plays
ganggreen2003 Icon : (31 August 2014 - 04:44 PM) 1 week till we are 1-0
ganggreen2003 Icon : (31 August 2014 - 04:44 PM) we need to annihilate the GAYders
azjetfan Icon : (31 August 2014 - 05:28 PM) We claimed McFadden from the Browns. Knows the system should be able to contribute right away
azjetfan Icon : (31 August 2014 - 05:29 PM) Watching the Browns game now. Playing all three CB spots. Looks OK. A little grabby although he has not been called for it
azjetfan Icon : (31 August 2014 - 05:30 PM) Might be a little aggressive and get burnt over top

Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:17 PM) The Jets are fucked at CB, signing some bums now. We need Milliner to get healthy
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 04:20 PM) We have signed CB Phillip Adams
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:55 PM) The Gayders are playing Derek Carr against the JETS
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 05:55 PM) our D Line better put him in a WORLD OF PAIN
MikeGangGree... Icon : (Yesterday, 06:11 PM) Rookie QB in our house...Rex do your thing!!
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 09:56 PM) with Antonio Allen and Darrin Walls as our starting CBs
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:00 PM) our offense should be better than last year, Geno looks more comfortable
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 10:03 PM) The Jets released Jeremiah George and Ellis Lankster, hopefully George finds his way to the PS. AJ Edds was re-signed

I agree with:

No one should be running their mouth about the Dolphins. I don't care how ugly it was. They WON the football game. End of discussion. They found a way to win the game and I salute them.

Meanwhile, the Jets, as Frosty most astutely pointed out, embarrassed themselves yet again. Ryan has been running his big mouth since last season and he has gotten worse. I like Ryan. I do. I think he is an excellent defensive coach. But head coach? That remains to be seen. Training camp seemed to be more like a country club than anything else. And in the NFL, you are dealing with selfish, fat, lazy, overpaid players that really don't care what happens as long as they get paid. That means you cannot be everybody's friend. Kris Jenkins cares about winning. Jason Taylor cares about winning. But not everyone else does.

In this league, you walk tall with a soft step. If Ryan fully appreciated the history of this accursed franchise, he would understand that bravado is the last thing it needs. Even though I am fully aware he will not, Ryan needs to shut the fuk up and make sure his team remains focused. That means hitting the playbook. Staying late after practice. Especially Sanchez and his receivers.

Cam, once again, you have proven to be the voice of reason around here.

Your assessment of Lebatard. I'm sorry Frosty, you know I am as objective a Jet fan as there is, but Dan Lebetard is a horrible talk show host. Just the sound of his voice irritates me. I really want to punch him in the face. That rant is a perfect example. He is terribly obnoxious. And what is worse is that generally speaking, he THINKS he is funny and he is clearly not. And that idiot Stugots is a punching bag straw man for him. I'm embarrassed he is a Jets fan. Listen to Sid Rosenberg. He hates the Jets too. But he is usually spot on with his opinions. This is where I will defend New York. The sports analysts from up north know their teams and understand sports overall. Guys like Lebetard and George Sedano are embarrassing. They really are. They are 2 obnoxious, and I mean OBNOXIOUS julios that are on the air because there is nothing better down here. It is they and most, but not all of the fan base, that causes me to hate the Dolphins and the Heat.

Obviously your entitled to your opinion Cam. But let me say a few things before you go thinking that all sports radio down here is terrible. LeBatard isn't a sports analyst. His show is not based on discussing who will win the 2nd string OLB position. His show is not about discussing how many yards Ronnie Brown will run for. His show is mostly about mocking the sports norm and having some fun. I understand his show is not for everyone and I, at a time, hated his show for a while. But the show did grow on me. Its funny, different and puts a spin on sports radio. Theres a reason why his show has been at the number 1 spot in this market for years. People like it.

LeBatard might be a Miami guy, but what you probably miss on his show is that he ranks on the Dolphins almost, if not more, than he does on the Jets. After the 2007 season, LeBatard was doing a pre-game show for the Fins titled "The Fake Pre-game Show". The slogan was something to the effect of, "The Dolphins didn't field a real team last season, so they don't deserve a real pregame show". Thats pretty funny. But its that type of humor thats the basis for his show. Trust me, I realize he hates on the Jets ALOT, but thats part of his gig. Hes like that about everything on his show.

Sedano is no doubt a Miami homer. But I still enjoy his show. He gets on the Jets pretty good because he gets a massive influx of calls from Jet fans. Infact, theres 2-3 regular Jet callers that have become a staple of the show. The hate is funny and its all in good fun. Sort of like why I keep coming back here. I hate the Jets, but what would the rivalry be if the fans couldn't talk smack to one another? The same logic can be applied to his show.

Sid, God bless him, but I can't listen to his show. He can't go by one show without mentioning or implying how New York (the city) is better than Miami. Doesn't matter what it is that hes comparing. Restaurants, politics, media, sewer systems, roach motels, whatever. I get it, his agenda is to fire up the local people so he can get listeners. More power to him. But the guy really has no clue what hes talking about.

In THIS market, "real" sports talk doesn't do as well as what 790 the ticket has done. We got a great radio host in the Big O who knows his shit up and down and can break down just about anything football, and the man can't seem to find a consistent time slot because no one listens to his show. Why? People want to be entertained not, preached about who's 40 time was impressive in the draft or why the wildcat is an effective tool in Miami's offense.

Just something to think about bro. Again, your entitled to your opinion.

I respect your position on the matter. I'm one of those fellows that likes hard core sports talk. That is what "entertains" me. For example - I do not follow baseball. But I can listen to Colin Cowherd talk about baseball and I actually become interested. The same thing happens when I listen to Mike Francesa. Lebetard's show is silly to me. Homers really annoy me. And I apply that to Jet beat writers or radio talk show hosts as well. That is why I dislike Steve Serby and Mark Cannizaro's columns in the New York Post. I prefer Gary Meyers and Rich Cimini. They tell it like it is. Tough love. I'm a Bill Parcells kind of guy.

I'm kind of surprised at your comments about Rosenberg. I have to admit it - I feel the same way about Miami and South Florida in general. And I do think he knows what he is talking about. When the julio from Hialeah calls, half in the bag, bragging about something the Dolphins just did, or ripping on the Jets, Sid puts him in his place. I can just picture the little julio, sitting in his little shack in Hialeah, wearing his Dan Marino jersey, stubble on his face because he can't grow a beard, a Corona in one hand, the 3rd place Cheech and Chong look-a-like contest trophy in another, sitting in his jean shorts that stop 3 inches above from his shoeline, the ceiling fan above his head barely moving, tumbleweed dustbunnies hanging from the blades.

But Sid also puts the obnoxious Jet fans in their place as well. And they deserve it. But I have to say, overall, New Yorker's know their teams.

"In this market, "real" sports talk doesn't do as well as what 790 the Ticket has done."

I agree. But what does that say about the South Florida sports fan? Think about it.

Actually, LeBatard runs a pretty successful radio show thats recognized nationally. Hes one of the more fair guys in radio. He likes to get on the Jets (and with good reason) for the fact that the fan base, and now new head coach love running their collective mouths when the team hasn't won shit since the Namath days.

Its a gripe I've had with the Jets for a long time. All talk, no results. That phrase should be posted in your teams weight room. :banana011:

And what have the Dolphins won since the Griese days? I don't see any Super Bowl rings shining on Dan Marino's fingers. You have a lot of nerve criticizing a fan base for running their mouths even though they haven't won anything since Super Bowl III while you come on here to troll even though the Dolphins haven't won anything since Super Bowl VIII. You guys live off of the shit Griese, Csonka, and Shula did four decades ago just as much as Jets fans do with Namath, Maynard, and Ewbank.

Don't come on here throwing stones when you're living in a glass house yourself.

There are a few things I have realized about Mr. Jet over a few topics.

1) He is a racist. By constantly using race as a battling tool.
2) He is an extreme Liberal. If you are on either extreme you are probabaly more wrong than right.
3) He is one of those people who will never admit fault, error or defeat.
4)His life sucks and he takes it out on people who don't share in his views.

I must admit that it was funny but I find it funny that you would post this Frosty. So let me get this straight, you hate the Jets because we talk trash and have not done anything lately to merit that so in turn you come on our site to TALK TRASH EVEN THOUGH YOUR TEAM HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING LATELY. You my friend are a hypocrite.

Lets just see who is who in 2 weeks after we play the Pats and oh yeah, good luck vs the Vikings, im sure Jared Allen is looking forward to saying hello to Mr. Henne.

Bad Mr.Frosty How many TD's did Kyle Wilson give up in the game or when covering an elite WR that is Boldin with one on one coverage.?
wilson played Boldin pretty tight and got penalized giving the ravens 1st and goal. which they scored in 3 attempts. Sure the offense was impotent a lessened learned and I think they will grow some balls. How do you think your team may have faired if they played the ravens 1st rather than the bills.
