ganggreen2003 Icon : (21 April 2015 - 07:52 PM) Week 5 Bye after the London Game against the Dolphags
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) Rivers is likely going to Tennessee. Would LOVE to have him here but we likely won't make the trade. I'd easily give this year and next year
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 09:17 AM) 's first rounder for him
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 11:03 AM) IMO that's a steep price. I would swap this years first and a conditional 1st next year. Assuming we make the AFC Championship. That would be a 28-32nd pick. Otherwise a second.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:07 PM) Yes 2 1st is a lot
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 01:10 PM) draft is next week, pumped
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:02 PM) What are thoughts on getting a RB in round 1? McShay's newest mock has us taking Gurley at 6. I don't think we should take him that high, but if we trade down and he's available I'd love to snag him, ACL and all. He's got an unreal skill set that, once healthy, will translate readily to the NFL. We're not getting a QB this year without paying a king's ransom, and unless we pay a ransom for a top guy I say ignore QB. I don't want us to take a Hundley or Petty type in the 2nd or 3rd round when we need other pieces (edge rush, OL)
azjetfan Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:09 PM) We can probably get Gordon in the second. I would pass at 6. If QB is not available a pass rusher will be. Our biggest needs are QB Pass rusher and Oline.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 03:34 PM) any thourghts on shane ray? i see a lot of mocks have us drafting him
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:35 PM) last one i seen had us taking cooper, a RB, and hundley for our 1st 3 picks. not thrilled about that
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:38 PM) I don't like Gordon much. Not much of a receiver or blocker, ball security issues, tries to bounce outside too much, stuffed frequently. Gurley is in a league of his own
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:39 PM) Ray is pretty highly regarded. I'm betting he, Dupree, and Gregory will be our best options as well as edge rushers at 6, but I think that's too high for any of them
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 04:43 PM) Personally love Cooper, I know WR isn't our biggest need but he may be the most NFL ready guy in the Draft. If we stick to the 6th pick and Fowler, Beasley, and Mariota are gone, Cooper is the guy to get. I'd even take him over Beasley
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) i don't mind cooper. decker isn't number 1 IMO and marshall is expensive and getting old
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) and we never draft a WR high
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:45 PM) but o-line and QB are huge needs. i wouldn't take o-line 6th overall, but i think our 2nd or 3rd should be o-line
Jetsfan115 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 05:46 PM) we need an OLB as well. if we don't land a QB i'd like to see OLB adn O-line with 2 of our top 3 picks
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:16 PM) I agree on Deck, not a true #1 and he's had a checkered history with injuries. Marshall has 2, maybe 3 productive years left, which is why Cooper is an option
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:17 PM) And I agree with you on edge rusher & OL being bigger needs, but there really isn't a lineman I'd take at 6
Chadforpresi... Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:19 PM) So the way I see it, assuming Winston and Mariota are taken when we're at 6, that Fowler and Cooper are our best choices, and I'd be stunned if Fowler drops. I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if we land Cooper
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 08:47 PM) Apparently Tennessee wanted both of Cleveland's #1's and their 2nd rounder to move up to the #2 spot to get Mariota. Still think two 1st rounders are too much for Rivers? He makes us instant contenders and if we make a deep playoff run, it would really be this year's 1st and what equates to basically a 2nd rounder next year.
If not, get Cooper in the 1st and then grab Hundley in the 2nd and O-line in the 3rd.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:05 PM) I wouldn't be upset with Cooper, hes a stud
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:06 PM) Not sure about Ray. Dupree is rising on the draft boards, ridiculously athletic for his size
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:07 PM) Dupree is 6'4 270 and has a amazing get off and runs a 4.5
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Problem is he doesn't have big sack numbers in college, I rather draft a productive guy high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:09 PM) Vic Beasley is insanely athletic as well and was hugely productive in college, good bet is that Beasley will be a 10+ sack guy in the NFL
NJAzrael71 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:12 PM) Beasley should be a stud but he gets caught up hand fighting if he doesn't beat his guy quickly. He'll likely end up as an OLB but we'll see
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (22 April 2015 - 10:15 PM) He'd be a good fit in our defense, because we could use that speed guy on the outside
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:27 AM) I'd love Rivers, but we should be able to get him without paying 2 first rounders
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:29 AM) Lot of buzz about Dupree going top 10, most mocks I see have us getting either Ray or Dupree at 6. I prefer Dupree, like you said insane athlete for his size
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 06:30 AM) I like Beasley as well but I have a strong feeling Washington will snag him. But he is a small dude, it'd be nice if he'd add some bulk (in Clemson reportedly played around 230)
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:11 AM) @ArifHasanNFL

.@LanceZierlein says on http://sports790.com that Shane Ray will need surgery on foot, 5 months recovery. "Could drop out of first"
Chaos Icon : (23 April 2015 - 10:14 AM) this should change up the top 10
Chadforpresi... Icon : (23 April 2015 - 12:16 PM) Damn that's big. If he drops out of round 1 that could be a massive bargain for whoever gets him round 2. Dupree now looks more like the edge rusher we'd get at 6
MikeGangGree... Icon : (24 April 2015 - 09:40 PM) TEH RANGERS
santana Icon : (24 April 2015 - 11:32 PM) TEH WIZ
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:57 AM) Teh Suarez
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:58 AM) Vic Beasley is all speed. No moves, no power. Straight up the field. Could have some big games, then nothing in the next
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:59 AM) If we don't get Mariota, we should be looking at Schreff or trading down, IMO.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:59 AM) A lot of good edge rushers in this draft... I wouldn't want to take Dupree that high.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:00 AM) Until next time fellas!

On his thoughts on the Jets after Monday nightís gameÖ

They played one of the top teams in the league in Baltimore, who are probably very similar to the way the Jets are. It was a very hard fought game. Theyíre two very good defensive football teams and they make it tough on offenses. The Jets defense in one of the best in the league and preparing for them is certainly no easy task. Weíve spent all day Monday, all day Tuesday and all day today trying to get ready for them. They present a lot of challenges. Theyíre just so physical and they really play that scheme really well.

On if he can expand on when he said he hates the JetsÖ

(Laughing) Can I expand on those feelings? Do they really need to be expanded on?

On how deep is hatred is for the JetsÖ

Itís an intense rivalry. There are not many New Yorkers that like people from Boston and vice versa. When I got here, it was always Yankees/Red Sox. Thereís just something between New York and Boston. The teams have been very competitive. Itís been a great rivalry. Obviously, there has been a lot of player movement over the years between teams. It makes it fun for the fans. It makes it fun for the players. Itís great for the league. Iím glad to be playing so early in the year. Itís exciting for the players.

On his approach for going against Darrelle RevisÖ

Well, ultimately, Iím not playing one guy. Iím playing all 11. I donít look too much into that. I think every team has its strengths and weaknesses. I donít think itís smart to always challenge another teamís strength all the time. Youíve got to figure out the places where you see theyíre vulnerable and go after those. Thatís just pretty basic offensive football. If teams do certain things very well, youíve got to find other things to do to be successful. You donít want to play always into another teamís strengths. I think they do a lot of things very well, so thatís the challenge. Itís a very good defense (with) their blitz schemes and how physical they are. They have a lot of guys that can do a lot of different things Ė the Bryan Thomases and the Bart Scotts and David (Harris). They can all rush. They can all cover and thatís what makes it pretty challenging, more so than one guy. I donít think a defense is built around one player. I think, ultimately, itís about a team defense.

On Wes WelkerÖ

Wes has been an incredibly reliable and dependable player since heís been here. Heís had some great games against the Jets. Heís hard to cover because of his ability to get open with his quickness. Heís a really smart player. Heís seen a lot of coverages trying to take him away and he always finds a way to be open and get the ball. Heís a huge asset to our team and heís someone Iím always looking for.

On his comfort level with WelkerÖ

Heís practiced pretty much all of training camp. I think he missed more training camp last year than he did this year. Heís an incredibly hard worker. I think thatís what makes him so special. Heís a great teammate. He practices hard every day and I think thatís why he and I have always been on the same page.

On how ready Randy Moss is to go against RevisÖ

Randy is a competitor. Randy wants to play well every week. Iím sure there are certain players he goes against, or teams we go against, that are very motivating for us and that present challenges. You always want to see how you can do against some of the best players. Look, any team can take away one player, thatís really not hard to do, but I donít think thatís the goal of a defense. I think defenses are trying to take away the entire offense. We donít look too much into that other than weíre going to try to get the ball to the guy thatís most open. There are certain guys and different opportunities on every play. If youíve got to run, youíve got to run it. If youíve got to throw, youíve got to throw it and youíve got to throw it to the guy whoís going to be open.

On if Moss is motivated this week because Revis called him a slouch during the playoffs last yearÖ

I donít know. Different things motivate different people. Weíre all called a lot of names by a lot of people. Itís hard for me to think that you get so worked up over that. Revis is a good player, but we play a lot of good players too. The Jets have a lot of good players. We donít prepare for one player. We prepare for the whole defense. The thing that makes the Jets defense so good is there are a bunch of good players. Thatís really what we focus on.

On if the Jets and their coach do too much talkingÖ

I donít really care what they do to tell you the truth. Iím concerned with what we do. Thatís been our M.O. for a lot of years. I think it was successful for us. Jets are going to do what theyíre going to do and weíre going to do what weíre going to do. The reality is none of it really matters. What matters is how we go out and play this weekend.

On his reaction to the things Rex Ryan saysÖ

I donít react too often. I donít really get into all that. It doesnít bother me one way or the other. I can sit here and make all the predictions in the world too. The reality for him and all his players and us and our coach (is) weíve got to go out and play. I donít spend my time looking into that other (stuff) or analyzing (it). I know that Iíve got to get ready to play. I donít want to waste my time trying to analyze what he thinks about us. I just want to go out and play the game. Iíd rather spend my time watching film then really talking to you guys, with all due respect (laughter).

On sounding like Bill BelichickÖ

Listen guys, the truth is, with all due respect, to win games is preparation, work, commitment and being on the same page with your team. Thatís why you win games. I can really make all the predictions in the world, but Iíve got to go out there and play and I think thatís what is important to us. Every team has different styles. Every team does it differently. There is no right or wrong way. Itís just the way that works for us. Thatís why I donít think we buy into what other people say about us, good, bad or indifferent. Weíve got to go out there and play the game.

On if Rex Ryan and Belichick have different stylesÖ

Certainly. Oh yes. Of course, but thatís their personality. I think thatís just the way God made them.

On how much more comfortable he feels at the beginning of this season as opposed to last yearÖ

I felt very comfortable last year and I felt comfortable this year. I thought last year I was very comfortable so I wouldnít say very different at all.

I just don't see that bubble screen to welker working at all . Tom has Matured pretty well .Revis is a good player like Tom is a good QB.

I'm wondering if Cromartie wouldn't be better on Moss. We saw last week that he struggles against quick cutting, and obviously if he isn't on Moss he'll probably be on Welker. Cromartie would probably do more covering Moss on his longer, straighter routes than on Welker's quick changing, cutting slants and such. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd prefer Revis-Welker.

Exterminate all rational thought, that is the conclusion I have come to

I think the pats will use their 2 tall young TE to off set the blitz . Revis wants to cover Moss simple because Moss catches mostly long ball throws for TD's. I not sure how much small ball we will apply. but we can't do the same thing like last week.
