Jets drop game vs packers MNf next
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) The should have made sure he knew who was calling the time out. Hell Rex was on his right and Marty was on his left.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:47 PM) Getting lazy with a minute 50 on the clock before half was the nail in the coffin.
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:48 PM) The ref
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:49 PM) There is plenty of blame to spread around. No team should lose a 17 point lead anyway.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) DUDS - Miliner and Marty
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:50 PM) BRUTAL LOSS
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:52 PM) I really don't blame Marty because it's the refs job to make sure he sees who is calling the timeout. Plus the ball had already been snapped before he even noticed somebody was calling a TO.
mgjetman Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:53 PM) Just gave that game away. WTH!!!
Mr_Jet Icon : (14 September 2014 - 06:54 PM) He didn't even blow the whistle until Geno already had dropped back to pass. The play was already well underway.
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:03 PM) I heard it when the ball was already in the air
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) but it shouldn't of come down to that TO blunder
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) we did give up a 18 point lead
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) so we fucked up and lost
bleedsgreen Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) True
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:05 PM) time to get ready for MNF
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) Well it sucks when you start to feel the jets are going to lose the game them selves
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) the Vick play worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) that run on 3rd and 5 worthless
santana Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:09 PM) chris Johnson also I don't know what his numbers were but ivory seemed to be a better back
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) Marty just picks the worse time to call those wildcat plays
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:13 PM) they are drive killers
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:27 PM) Problem is the corners. We knew this before the start of the season. I was amazed at how well they did last week and the first half but eventually the weakness showed
ROBJETS Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:28 PM) The corner positions will be addressed next year. Technically we are still in a rebuilding phase.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 07:39 PM) we did go toe to toe against a SB contender and we really shouldn't be heartbroken but if you call yourself a JETS fan and aren't a little pissed over a W that we had in our control then you need to go and hand in your JETS gear ... I'm looking at you 115
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:24 PM) 18 penalties in 2 games
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:25 PM) unacceptable
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 08:27 PM) Geno dropped from #1 to #28 in TOTAL QBR
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:10 PM) Cutler just got popped right in the chest
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:11 PM) that was a squared up right in the middle of the chest hit
ganggreen2003 Icon : (14 September 2014 - 09:13 PM) nice one handed catch by Marshall
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 10:06 PM) NFL rules state that only the head coach can call a timeout on the sidelines…

Except in Green Bay where anybody up to the third row can call a timeout.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 10:06 PM) I love NFL memes
MikeGangGree... Icon : (14 September 2014 - 11:30 PM) Well I will be at the game next Monday night

Highly doubt he retires....I think this is just Harrison's extreme response to express his discontent with the seemingly dramatic response by the NFL this week....

Harrison's not retiring. He's just unhappy with the 75,000 fine he got.

Massaquoi's agent is a little ridiculous though saying that 75K fine wasn't enough. His client knows that every time he steps onto the field he's taking a risk of taking a hard hit. I dont care if Harrison's made millions or not. 75 grand isnt chump change after considering that harrison's agent and the government still have to take their cut as well as the players union out of his salary.

The panel on NFL are DEAD ON!.. how many years has it been since there have been tackling in football? You can't change it Goodell. You simply CANNOT!

Now like the panal says. Enforce the rules that are ALEADY IN PLACE. Dunta Robinsons hit was as clean as hit as you'll see. Was is vicious? yes... however he didn't launch, nor did he go for the head of DeSean. It was a hit across the middle of the field. I'm sorry, I'm all for safety as well but Jesus Christ, we can't let this game get out of hand. We already have screwed up the P.I calls. P.I calls shouldn't be from the spot of the foul. It should be a 15 yard penalty. Not a 50 or 60 yard penalty. Anyways Goodell is going to f*ck this up. The league is going to f*ck this up. I know it.

Nothing we can do but I might have to write a letter to Goodell or the league office. I'm not going to be able to stand it if football starts being called like Basketball games.Posted Image

They over-react to the numbers only. the last 3 years the NFL averaged 27 concussions total reported per year, they're year there at 47 already. But you can't blame the defense for getting bigger and faster. they are already at a disadvantage. I'm ok with fines and suspensions for players who are PURPOSELY spearing players or aiming for the head and trying to injure other players (like romanoski used to) but you can't flag or suspend a player who lays down the wood if he keeps it legal. like revis's hit on royal was legal, leonhards hit on royal was legal.

I don't know if this is a bit much, but i personally think that GOODELL IS THE HITLER of the NFL. He seriously is single handedly killing the sport year after year. the act that no one has tried to seriously try to throw him out of power is unbelievable. Well i hope he knows that after he kills the NFL he's good as fucked when it comes to money cause he, along wiht the owners are goin bankrupt.

I think a lot of aggressive players will consider retirement rather than a complete change of playing style.

Knee jerk reactions are becoming a trademark of the pathetically PR conscious Goodell. Two game winning PI calls? Change the rule!Q However, note that in the NY-Den game the PI was blatant since Holmes had the ball hit his hands and only a facemask could stop the catch. In the Hou-KC game it was just the wrong call. In either situation, a fifteen yard penalty isn't the answer.

The issue on PI is when it gets called wrong it hurts the other team big time. The answer isn't to mitigate the possibility of a bad call by lessening the penalty, you'll just end up with DBs throwing guys down deep to break up a play. Refs should get fined and suspended for blown calls at that level. All they are watching for is possession and in bounds. Johnson was way in bound, so the only issue should have been watching his hands. How the ref misses a push when we can see it from camera level above the field is beyond me.

The truth behind Jay Fiedler's disspearance?

The league is thriving. If you don;t like the way he's running things that's fine, but none of this is true.

Big hits are part of the game, and a big part of what draws fans to the game. But there does need to be balanced, and player safety does need to be considered. I understand that players choose to play the game, and put their bodies on the line. However, the league and officials do arguably owe the players a duty of care. I found the interview on ESPN.com with Mark Schlereth quite disturbing. During his career he put everything on the line and has had 29 surgeries to show for it. But there is a difference between knee injuries and head injuries. Unfortunately Schlereth, and other players may end up in wheelchairs or need a walking aid in the future, but their standard of living is going to be much better than players who have suffered repeat concussions because the symptoms are far less severe than amnesia and potential brain damage.
The onus to me is on players to improve their tackling technique. Revis showed on Sunday you can make a hard hit without it having to be uncontrolled, whereas the shots from Harrison and Robinson were not.

The Robinson hit was violent, but legal. If Jackson wasn't a *beep* that misses time anyway it wouldn't have been a problem. Robinson was running, slowed, put his hands up.

If hard hits that knock out notably fragile players will draw suspensions, I say we load up on wimps so that no one will be willing to touch them.

The Merriweather hit was dirty, the Massaquai his was kind of dirty, but that is it. The call on Leonhard showed that you'll get called for tackling in the modern NFL. I say fire all the defensive players in the league and let the players just play 100-yard pitch and catch.
