Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:10 PM) if that happens, I think the Jets should go after Shane Vereen. Nice pass catching option out of the backfield, only 25.
Smedsthejet Icon : (20 February 2015 - 04:06 PM) Think Vereen would be a great option...I thought he was one of their best and most valuable performers during the playoffs and we need a back who can contribute in the passing game as well. Jets have been missing that piece since LT retired

The Jets announced they have waived linebacker Kenwin Cummings, who originally joined the team in 2008 as an undrafted free agent out of Division II Wingate. The team said there will not be a corresponding roster move today.

Cummings, who did not let Type 1 diabetes slow down his football career, was active for three games this season and recorded zero tackles. He was one of the players caught off guard on the Broncos' successful on-side kick last week.

Behind starters Bart Scott and David Harris, the Jets now have just Lance Laury. Linebackers Josh Mauga and Cody Brown are on the practice squad.

The Jets are on their bye this week, so they wouldn't need to make a move until Monday.

Well if their cutting because of the onside kick that's pretty lame because he even made a play on the onside kick. He blew a guy up. However it's more then special teams. During all 4 preseason games he was the one I noticed the most, plus with the fact were are bleak and I mean VERY bleak at ILB this creates a problem. He was good depth. Confused.

Obviously there is something more going on. I heard were looking at a QB for the PS so by cutting cummings promoting a LBer offf the PS (mauga or brown) we can sign the QB to the practice squad. i really don't know but i think we are gonna target merriman. why not MT is very aggressive and merriman woudln't be needed everydown. he'd be a situational pass rusher like JT. then our OLBs would be taylor, merriman as backups and thomas and pace as starters. and teh ILBs would be harris and scott backed up by laury and westerman

Surprised, Cummings looked good in preseason. We got to draft a ILB this year, someone who can play ST and backup Bart/David. Wouldn't be surprised if we signed Adalius, who knows.

how many picks do we have this year? i think we have a 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th

our 2nd is going to SD for Cromartie
I think thats the only pick we are short

We need Pass rushing OLB, DT, MLB, OT
and secondary Needs are WR, FS
