Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (30 April 2016 - 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.
Smedsthejet Icon : (01 May 2016 - 06:17 AM) But Chan Gailey runs a spread system - still, I'm comfortable with the Hackenberg pick seeing as Gailey will develop the system to suit his strength... I'm just glad that we passed on Paxton Lynch in the first...we still desperately need Fitz to re-sign though
azjetfan Icon : (01 May 2016 - 07:14 PM) From my understanding the spread in college and the spread in NFL are not the same principals. I really think it was more of a talent issue and getting sacked 80 times in 2 years that did him in. I have no idea if he will make it. I don't follow college ball enough to to know. Theses are just things I read in articles.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 10:24 AM) I'm stoked about getting peake in the 7th round. that was a steal. he was a projected 3rd rounder. wonder what scared teams away

Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 06:06 PM) Listed as a RB had more bench presses and highest vertical of anyone this year. Hasn't played football since high school and apparently not very smart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) The Jets had Hackenberg as their #2 rated QB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) Apparently, they loved Golf and tried to trade up. When that failed, their #2 QB was Hackenberg, they fell in love with his football IQ
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:17 PM) It would be a mistake to start him right away, hes a guy who needs development. He has the talent, and apparently he has good leadership skills and football IQ. His mechanics are off though

I want to throw something out there, and before anyone says this would be unthinkable, cosnider a few facts: Darrelle Revis, in my opinion, should be considered expendable if a team offered something worthwhile (a young, pro-bowl calibur player who wouldn't cost as much or multiple draft picks). I guess it kind of makes sense, given that his salary will keep other players from returning to the Jets next season and that while he was good this past season, can one honestly say that his play made him one of the elite corners in the NFL? I think he's certainly up there, but... Also, Kyle Wilson, a #1 pick a season ago did show some signs of being a very good corner, but obviously, not at Revis' level. What do you think? Revis for multiple picks or a good, young player who comes with a cheaper price tag, (Bart Scott and Brandon Moore ain't getting any younger) allowing the team to keep both Homes and Edwards or something? Would it be worth it? Also, Revis was a pain in the ass with his contract last season, as we all know.

The only way I would welcome something like this if it was for Aaron Rogers, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees. In my opinion.

A young, Pro-Bowl caliber player? Like Revis already is? If there were gems like that around the NFL (guys I'm assuming you mean around David Harris' status), then they're not going anywhere anyway. Revis' contract isn't totally the problem. It's deals to guys like Jason Taylor, Vernon Gholston, and LaDainian Tomlinson that suck up the dollars that should go to good worker bees. Two of those three are already dealt with. There is no reasonable compensation for a guy of Revis' abilities.

Even the Raiders, who were saddled with Asomugha's millions for years didn't let go of their commodity. That organization's problem was always with absurd management and incompetent coaching. They never let the talent walk.

Crazy, man. Jets fans for years wanted an elite player that other teams genuinely fear and gameplan for, and now people suggest trading him?

Revis is not only elite, but the absolute best at his position. You don't let that kind of talent walk leave. Period.

it's a long offseason, maybe the longest ever. No post is rubbish unless it's gmany plotting of ways to abort the mothership to continue scientific research on extra-terrestrials.

Oh well, it worked out quite well on Madden 11 football, but then again, the Jets don't beat the Steelers 150-0 in real life, just in the world of Madden

For Halloween I dyed Hummus black and called it posthummous.

Not the best, but it was spooky.

The rights to draft Andrew Luck and a pro bowl OLB/DE. Aside from that, forget it. Revis is the best player ever to wear a jets uniform and is only 25-26 years old. As far as what the other reply said about Manning, I wouldn't do it for him because he is already on the down side of his career (just barely but still on the down)

Never heard of that!

I got Artichoke with sundried tomatoes. Not bad, but the one with pine nuts is still my fav.
