Jetsfan0099 Icon : (19 February 2015 - 12:28 PM) Reports say Jets to go hard after CJ Spiller. Bring him aboard, he'll be a good signing. Was a stud in Chan's offense and RBs don't cost much
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:09 PM) Saw that the Bills are meeting with Spiller and may sign him before FA.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (20 February 2015 - 12:10 PM) if that happens, I think the Jets should go after Shane Vereen. Nice pass catching option out of the backfield, only 25.
Smedsthejet Icon : (20 February 2015 - 04:06 PM) Think Vereen would be a great option...I thought he was one of their best and most valuable performers during the playoffs and we need a back who can contribute in the passing game as well. Jets have been missing that piece since LT retired

McKnight Rider About to Turbo Boost into Running Game?
by Bassett on November 3rd, 2011 at 9:32 am

For a few weeks now, there's been speculation as to whether or not the Jets will start giving special teams standout RB Joe McKnight more chances to carry the ball out of the backfield for the Jets. Could Joe McKnight's time come this weekend? Rex has indicated that it very well might ..

Well, did he do anything last year [against the Bills]? I forget that game (joking). Yes, absolutely, he'll get more opportunities this week.

Our Lisa Zimmerman wrote about this last night, and talked to Joe about what he's working on to prepare for Sunday.

Last year, McKnight had his best games against Buffalo with a total of 36 carries and 170 total yards in the two games he played against them. McKnight is excited and trying to prepare for whatever role they'll want him in, whether it's rushing or receiving. "I have to get my timing and my steps right," he said of his main focus. McKnight's also spending a whole lot of time in the film room.

Their defense actually played their best game of the season last week when they moved Marcell Dareus to NT. All the Bills sites say that Dareus is 340 pounds, he weighed in at 319. Did he really gain 20 pounds already?

They've definitely got a stud in Dareus to build that defence around. Will be a tough matchup for him against Mangold this week though and if we can run the ball like we did against San Diego there should be holes for Greene, Tomlinson and potentially McKnight to exploit. If Joe starts featuring more in the running game, he's definitely earned it.

Joe is starting to grow on me. I think he deserves the bigger role now. Props to him for showing this doubter that he had what it took to play in the NFL.

I got news for Dareus. He's not lining up against a David Baas and we have a few more horses than a one footed Bradshaw and a useless Jacobs.

Were not going anywhere with Greene. Must win game. Bills remind me of the 2009 jets.

Only with an offense that can score with the best in the NFL. If the 2009 Jets scored like the Bills did/do we would of won the damn thing.
