Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:12 PM) Lee isn't a pass rusher, hes a fast athletic LB. Hes probably their future at ILB, someone who can cover in the middle

Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (30 April 2016 - 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.
Smedsthejet Icon : (01 May 2016 - 06:17 AM) But Chan Gailey runs a spread system - still, I'm comfortable with the Hackenberg pick seeing as Gailey will develop the system to suit his strength... I'm just glad that we passed on Paxton Lynch in the first...we still desperately need Fitz to re-sign though
azjetfan Icon : (01 May 2016 - 07:14 PM) From my understanding the spread in college and the spread in NFL are not the same principals. I really think it was more of a talent issue and getting sacked 80 times in 2 years that did him in. I have no idea if he will make it. I don't follow college ball enough to to know. Theses are just things I read in articles.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 10:24 AM) I'm stoked about getting peake in the 7th round. that was a steal. he was a projected 3rd rounder. wonder what scared teams away

Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 06:06 PM) Listed as a RB had more bench presses and highest vertical of anyone this year. Hasn't played football since high school and apparently not very smart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) The Jets had Hackenberg as their #2 rated QB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) Apparently, they loved Golf and tried to trade up. When that failed, their #2 QB was Hackenberg, they fell in love with his football IQ
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:17 PM) It would be a mistake to start him right away, hes a guy who needs development. He has the talent, and apparently he has good leadership skills and football IQ. His mechanics are off though

That wasn't very cool, Belichick and his "suck" statement showed what kind of a total D Bag he is. Rex shouldn't have given those moron fans the time of day. I hope he learns a little humility before too long and PLEASE stop making super bowl predictions. You can tell everyone to shut the f up after you win a super bowl Rex. Also, lets get someone who can rush the passer. Watching them send 5 -6 guys and not get near Brady while the pats were sending 4 and killing Mark. Hell, they could have dropped 10 guys and Andre Carter still would have 3 sacks. How Brick let that happen is beyond me unless there is an injury we are not aware of.

Our coach is an embarrassment of a man who can't control his emotions and it translates to his team, which overreacts to everything. One moment we are world beaters, then we hit a stitch and the whole team gives up.

People didn't like stuffy Mangini, but look what the team replaced him with. A man-child who has to be repeatedly reprimanded by the league for his immature behavior.

Now that I have cooled off I am thinking more clearly. A few thoughts.

1) Rex is a great coach. His bravado is one of the things that make him that way. We have to take the good with the bad. I am OK with him laying into some ass clown talking shit to him.

2) We do not have the talent to be a Championship team. We have glaring holes. Safety was exposed as one of them. Another is Our lack of Pass rush. Even when we got pressure the tackle was missed. On the Offense we are lacking one of the most important pieces. Our lack of an OC's leadership and playcalling is apparent. The rotating door at the WR position also has not helped. With the emergence of Kerley and Holmes being locked up I thing this will be cured.

Compared where we were when Mangina left we are alot better of a team and are only going the right direction. We are just not there yet. We need to be patient and enjoy the ride.

If Rex Ryan is a great coach, there are about two dozen great coaches in the NFL right now.

I think Rex is a good enough coach that you can win a SB with, I would say hes around top 10 among HCs. To be a great coach you have to win the big games, but pretty much every coach in NFL history has failed at first unless they were given a great team that already won.

Rex will be here for a while.

Think you'll be incredibly shocked if we happen to miss the playoffs this year how much fire Rex will come under. He's representing this franchise and he's not doing it well. Without on the field results, he's going to be doomed.

Rex already won more playoff games than any coach in Jets history and has a winning percentage over .600 right now. Jets always get rid of coaches and never had stability as a franchise.

Clearly better:

Payton, McCarthy, Belichick, Tomlin, Coughlin, Shanahan, Reid

Harbaugh has shown his team is on a different level against Ryan's.

I come up with eight guys in a minute I think are easily better.

You drop any first year coaches and as far as I'm concerned Rex isn't even top half of the league.

Disagree with all those guys being clearly better. Tomlin was handed a SB team and basically had to do nothing. Shanahan hasn't done anything since Elway. Coughlin has coached more 2nd half collapses than any coach.

Don't see how Tomlin would make us any better. Who runs the defense for the Steelers? Dick Lebeau, he was there with Bill Cowher. Cowher drafted Ben Roethlisberger. I don't see Tomlin as a coach that out coaches someone, hes a players coach that inherited a great team. Things are different with the Jets.

Hah.

Yeah, you're right, Tomlin deserves no credit.
