Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:19 AM) jets tried to trade up for tunsil but the price was too high
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:10 PM) Tunsil will end up out of the league
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 05:12 PM) Lee isn't a pass rusher, hes a fast athletic LB. Hes probably their future at ILB, someone who can cover in the middle
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:16 PM) jets said he's an ILB for us
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 06:17 PM) If we could grab jack he would be an OLB

SoReALSoJetS Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:29 PM) Hi guys long time no talk hope everyone is well
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:46 PM) SMH
ganggreen2003 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:46 PM) JETS drafted QB Hackenberg PSU
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:47 PM) Should have picked Connor Cook.
MikeGangGree... Icon : (29 April 2016 - 07:56 PM) I guess we are giving up on petty
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) Or giving up on geno
Jetsfan115 Icon : (29 April 2016 - 09:02 PM) I said the rumor was they liked him more then cook
Mr_Jet Icon : (29 April 2016 - 11:35 PM) I know I'm biased, but I've seen them both play. Cook is just better. Hackenberg had one good year. Cook has won more games, played in big games and won them....whatever, its done now so no sense on dwelling on it I guess. I just don't see the appeal in Hackenberg, nice kid, but I always thought he was really overrated. Oh well. I would have taken Kevin Hogan over Hackenberg.
azjetfan Icon : (30 April 2016 - 03:47 PM) From what I have read so far he had a great freshman year under Obrien in a pro style offense. At that point some considered him the next Andrew luck. Then Obrien left and they shifted to a spread under new HC who did poor job bringing in talent. He was also sacked and hit a million times. Might be shell shocked.
Smedsthejet Icon : (01 May 2016 - 06:17 AM) But Chan Gailey runs a spread system - still, I'm comfortable with the Hackenberg pick seeing as Gailey will develop the system to suit his strength... I'm just glad that we passed on Paxton Lynch in the first...we still desperately need Fitz to re-sign though
azjetfan Icon : (01 May 2016 - 07:14 PM) From my understanding the spread in college and the spread in NFL are not the same principals. I really think it was more of a talent issue and getting sacked 80 times in 2 years that did him in. I have no idea if he will make it. I don't follow college ball enough to to know. Theses are just things I read in articles.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 10:24 AM) I'm stoked about getting peake in the 7th round. that was a steal. he was a projected 3rd rounder. wonder what scared teams away
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 06:05 PM) Jets Invite Terron Beckham(Odell's Cousin) to Minicamp
Jetsfan115 Icon : (02 May 2016 - 06:06 PM) Listed as a RB had more bench presses and highest vertical of anyone this year. Hasn't played football since high school and apparently not very smart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) The Jets had Hackenberg as their #2 rated QB
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:16 PM) Apparently, they loved Golf and tried to trade up. When that failed, their #2 QB was Hackenberg, they fell in love with his football IQ
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (03 May 2016 - 05:17 PM) It would be a mistake to start him right away, hes a guy who needs development. He has the talent, and apparently he has good leadership skills and football IQ. His mechanics are off though
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (10 May 2016 - 12:25 PM) Is this street thug Ryan Fitzpatrick ever gonna sign?
SecondHandJets Icon : (11 May 2016 - 02:03 PM) Hey guy
SecondHandJets Icon : (11 May 2016 - 02:03 PM) Is everyone excited for the Geno Smith Era?
SecondHandJets Icon : (11 May 2016 - 02:04 PM) Finally the kid can show us what he can do
SecondHandJets Icon : (11 May 2016 - 02:04 PM) I know Mr Jet is excited
SecondHandJets Icon : (11 May 2016 - 02:04 PM) I know Harlem is too
SecondHandJets Icon : (11 May 2016 - 02:04 PM) GO TEAM!
Jetsfan115 Icon : (18 May 2016 - 10:40 AM) from the looks of it, nobody is excited lol
santana Icon : (18 May 2016 - 10:27 PM) I'm excited for geno smith. His jaw will survive the off season.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (19 May 2016 - 06:26 PM) not true, never know who might punch him

Jetsfan115 Icon : (23 May 2016 - 02:21 PM) Fitzpatrick said he wants to play for the jets and that he won't retire
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (23 May 2016 - 06:50 PM) This street thug Darron Lee hasn't signed yet

1st round 22 over. New York Jets: Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama
Despite the addition of Muhammad Wilkerson, the Jets still need to improve their pass rush so Rex Ryan doesn't have to call blitzes every single down. Rush linebacker Bryan Thomas tore his Achilles tendon recently, so this position has become even more dire for New York.

I'm sure Ryan would love the prospect of landing Courtney Upshaw, who has experience in Nick Saban's 3-4. Upshaw also happens to be the one of the top players on the board.

2nd round 54 over. New York Jets: Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers
I'm not impressed by Plaxico Burress' short, cheap touchdowns. He's not a legitimate starter, so the Jets will need a new No. 2 receiver immediately.

3rd round 86 ovr. New York Jets: Tony Dye, SS, UCLA
Eric Smith was exposed so badly against the Patriots that his unborn grandchildren will get ridiculed at school for it one day. The Jets need an upgrade.

OLB, WR, and Safety. not bad at all

Sanu would be the second coming of Brad Smith, great gadget guy but not a #2 receiver, not even a solid #3, which we already have in Kerley.

Damn EliteJets, are you Sanu's father or something? How can you say he would be anything on any team when he isn't even in the NFL yet? Shit. Valium, find some.

I like this mock. Addresses the 3 major concerns this team has, although I know nothing about Tony Dye.

Not interested in adding Upshaw. He'll be a damn fine player in the NFL, but I don't see him as a big time sack guy at the next level. That's what we need. A pass rusher specialist.

like i said i don't watch college so i don't know any of them. but we need an OLB. thomas is gone for sure and i'm not sold on westerman and maybin starting. They are good depth/situational guys but not starters. also pace is only like 2 years left so redoing the OLBs is priority.

WR is a huge need too. we haven't drafted one in the top 3 rounds of a draft since santana moss which was like 8 years ago if not more. and it shows. we have no young starting Wrs except holmes. kerley looks like a 5th round steal and could be our slot guy for a while but we need a guy opposite holmes.

Safety is another need. smith isn't a NFL starer and since he outtakes pool i wouldn't bank on pool for anything.

Plaxico Burress will probably be better next season with a offseason of NFL training, adding another WR wouldn't be bad though. Not sure about Upshaw, people talk about him but the most sacks he has had in a season is 7.

I question if you honestly have watched this kid during his college career. Kid has mad skills. Tough, tough and have I said he is tough! I am a huge Rutgers hater, but this kid will be a #1WR somewhere.

Yea I have watched the kid, the only place he is a #1 receiver is in Canada. He has issues with his hands, he isnt a number 1 in the NFL. Maybe for the browns or something, but he is not a #1, which we need. He might be a decent #2 or 3 down the line with a HUGE impact on special teams and trick plays/wildcat. I never said he didnt have talent. just that he wasnt what we needed. His receiving skills need to greatly improve. He drops the ball too much and isnt a polished route runner. case closed.

Draft Michael Floyd in the first and we will have a garunteed beast of a receiver who is a TRUE #1 and potential all star. He is big, beats people deep, uses his body well, has great hands and is one of the best blocking wr's in college. He is the all around package. Pass rusher is too risky in round 1 anyway, at least for us. Let Maybin develop.

I have Elite's posts blocked so I have no idea what he said, but your reaction to it makes reaffirms my reasoning for doing so. guy is over the top and and cant hold a rational conversation/arguement. So he's just like that.

Sanu = Brad Smith, some great skills as a player but not a receiver, maybe even a poor man's josh cribbs but I can't put him on cribbs level. I cant put him on Smith's level yet either, I just acknowledge that Sanu has that type of potential as a player skill-wise, just not a receiving threat.

Case remains open.I guess you have only seen him in the first few games of this season when he struggled a little bit. Kid is the real deal. Has good hands, runs good routes and is tough as nails. I don't care what conference you are in, if you break records, you have some sort of skill. And Sanu has plenty with upside to him. Why did you bring up trick plays or wildcat for Sanu? If you really have watched/followed him you would know that that is not what he is about. I am no expert for sure, but I do feel he COULD become a #1 WR in the NFL. He has what it takes to be that guy. I never said that I wanted the Jets to draft him based on what I feel he could become in the league. I honestly feel the Jets have bigger needs than WR at the present time.

I do understand, and I have seen many receivers like Sanu excel in the NFL. Some may not get it right away, some do. I think Sanu is nothing but upside, and I hate, hate with a passion saying good things about Rutgers, but when it is due I have no problem showing the kudos, and Sanu has earned my kudos for sure.

I have watched plenty of Sanu to know what he is about and he is not a #1. Anyone with his talent COULD be a #1 if they did the right things and on the right team, but hes not it. And i say gadget guy cus in his earlier years he ran the wildcat and he was pretty damn good at it. However, as a receiver he might have a decent career but he will never be a top receiver, maybe for a game or so because he fits right in the gameplan but not over the spand of a season or career. If your not a top tier wr, your not a true #1. So like I said, unless he's on a team of the caliber of the browns or jags wr courps this year, he wont even play the #1 wr spot.

Draft is loaded with receivers. Guys like Nick Toon, Kendall Wright, Dwight Jones and Marvin McNutt will be drafted in the second round.

P.S. what records has he broken? if 1,011 yards receiving, 10 ypc or 7 td receptions in a season is a rutgers record, than rutgers needs to find some real wrs STAT! His career avg ypc is right around 10, not great, his rushing stats are better, except for this year, and he has 9 career rushing tds and only 12 receiving tds.

Like i said, hes a wildcat qb and a kick returner, not a #1 receiver. Stats arent everything but you brought up records but those numbers are not that impressive, especially not in the Big East where defense is a mythical tale.

I do not watch Rutgers games but this made me research Sanu. The dude is a baller. If we can get him in the 2nd, I'll do cartwheels in my living room.
