Can you imagine spending twenty hours a day doing something and still sucking at it worse than virtually everyone else doing it? I'd probably give up (hint, hint).

It's not about the quantity of work, but the quality. Perhaps his brain is frazzled and he's not thinking clearly thanks to those stupidly long days he's apparently doing.
