Jetsfan0099 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 04:53 PM) Sounds like it may not be as bad with Goodson. I could see him ending up with a 4 game suspension for possession, the gun charges probably going to the other guy.

Jetsfan115 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 05:49 PM) i'd order a steak from idzik but he'd just give me a hamburger and try to pass it off as steak and when i cought him in the act he'd gie me a million dollars to make up for it

Mr_Jet Icon : (19 May 2013 - 05:40 PM) The Pacers FT attempts don't excuse J.R. Smith's disappearance in that series.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- This made no sense. Rex Ryan put Mark Sanchez in harm's way -- and jeopardized their playoff hopes -- by letting him try a pass with 11:35 remaining in the game.

With the Jets ahead by 25 points.

On a fourth-and-4.

Disaster nearly struck, as Sanchez was sacked by Chiefs LB Tamba Hali. Sanchez was slow to get up, no doubt causing hearts at MetLife Stadium - and on the Jets' sideline -- to skip a beat.

"That was my call," Ryan said after the Jets' 37-10 win.

Ryan explained why he made the decision, but it made no sense. He said he wanted to "run the clock out and get the game over. I thought we had a chance to convert on it. Obviously, you go back on it and wish you would have just punted it or tried a long field goal."

You think? There were more than 11 minutes to play, so there was no way they were going to run out the clock. And as we said earlier, they were up by 25 points.

But Ryan had a Bill Belichick moment, trying a fourth-down pass in a blowout game. It wasn't the first time that he put Sanchez in harm's way. Late in a Week 2 rout of the Jaguars, Sanchez got crushed on a fade pass to WR Plaxico Burress. Ryan later admitted he did it because Burress hadn't caught a pass in the game.

One of these days ...

When I saw Mark laying there on the ground after Hali speared him I turned the channel.

Rex is so use to playing from behind this team didn't know how to play with a commanding lead. Rex was lost.

I just dont get it anymore....any of it....bring in Tom Moore, and we cant figure out how to keep our starters healthy in a 30+ point lead.

I've been saying this all year. Mark is always in there throwing late game passes in blowouts. Sometimes it is when we are up by two or three scores, but also sometimes it is with a minute left and us down by twenty-something. It is inexcusable.

Exterminate all rational thought, that is the conclusion I have come to

In all fairness 2 games this season, sanchez sat for at least 9 mins in the 4th (jax and KC) no other team has done that to their starting QB even in blowouts

This isn't the NBA where starters hit the bench in the 3rd Q. The Jets were running the ball basically the entire 2nd half. Sanchez was just handing the ball off. The play on 4th down was probably something they decided that the offense needed to run in a game situation for the future. It was a terrible decision but in all fairness Hali went around DBrick like he was a tunstile, no one saw this one coming.

I live in FL and CBS cut to the Pats/ Skins game moments before that play. I used my cell phone to watch espn gamecast the rest of the way. I thought for sure they would kick a FG there or punt. So they go for 4th down up by 25 points, which would have ticked me off if a team did that to the jets. When I saw the result I was wondering if Mark got hurt but had no way to know. All I could think of is that is twice this season where we went for points in a game we had in the bag and Sanchez got rocked. Mark might not be an elite QB but when you have NO backup, risking his health for no potential gain is pretty dumb. And Brick, WTF is up with him? Has he forgot how to play or is it that he is still pissed about that bonus money and is taking plays off? When you have Hunter at RT, the rest of the line better play flawless!
