azjetfan Icon : (17 May 2013 - 03:51 PM) I was called to jury duty in AZ after I moved to WI. When I said I moved to WI they said since I still had a AZ DL and owned a home there I had to come. So I said OK come get me nad bring me to the court house. (they are required in AZ to do so if requested). Needless to say I was excused.
HarlemHxC814 Icon : (17 May 2013 - 03:51 PM) my grandfather was a high ranking judge in NY and so is my uncle currently

+1 for Suggs. Makes me sick the way Bayless is talking down to Suggs.
Sal Paolantonio commenting on the difference in the Ryan and Mangini atmospheres in the building:
"It's like going from Alcatraz to Dorney Park."

Fair play to Suggs - too many journalists try to twist people's words and, as he says towards the end, put words in people's mouths. There's too much fishing for stories.

Why would Suggs waste his breath on him? Bayless is a crappy shock journalist who just tries to have contentious opinions to get people to tune into a crappy ass ESPN-spinoff channel's morning show. I haven't watched Take Two (or whatever they changed it's name to) in a couple years, but they have the worst people on there.

That crossdresser...Posted Image ...they have is especially bad.

Bayless (and Stephen A. Smith too) have let their TV careers go to their heads. It's hard to believe Bayless was ever a print journalist with the way he acts now. Hell I didn't even know he had been a print journalist until I saw him on that 30 for 30 episode about SMU's death penalty sentence. He's just another TV character and that's probably what ESPN wants him to be. He's basically like an actor playing a character now. The shit he says now is just to get a reaction out of the person across the table from him and the viewers watching the show. It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't really believe half the shit he says on that show. He's gone from sports journalist Skip Bayless to "TV personality" Skip Bayless. Athletes shouldn't even give him the time of day anymore. Because it wouldn't be about Bayless interviewing and covering the athlete, it would be about how Bayless could use that athlete to bring attention to himself.

Skip is a douche though. Some of the stuff he said about Tebow was just incredibly douchy. Sizzle should eat him.

With the prolifiration of twitter, half the sportsnews we get is from athletes themselves. Sooner rather than later, it's going to get bigger and more common with a video component. All these journalists know it, so they need to sensationalize everything in order to draw viewers.

The players won't be on breaking down plays and explaining what the average viewer doesn't see. No amount of twittering will replace insightful analysis.

He most definitely is but a part of me just feels part of his doucheness is for show. When it comes to Bayless I don't see it ending well for him. Something tells me he's going to have a Jimmy the Greek/Don Imus type of moment and he'll end up getting fired the next day.

Most journalists don't do any of that. Analysts do. Guys like Skip and Cimini report, they don't add any insight into the game.

Most of the "analyst" don't do that much breakdown. They're all journalist to me, trying to serparate them by emphasis would be exacting. Most of the "journalists" don't do much more than read a story from some local high school paper about how a kid with no legs is the team's punter or whatever.
Sports media sucks, but nothing about it is getting replaced by social media except when TO wants to announce whatever he is doing that no one cares about.

He does seem Don Imus-ish. He's the epitome of a douche.

Skip does get away with too much. He needed a slap in the face, even though I don't think it will chane him one bit. I like the way Suggs kept his cool.
Fifteen years ago after an especially disappointing loss to Miami, Esiason, then the Jets' quarterback, was making the seven-mile drive from the Meadowlands back to Manhattan.
While he was slogging through stop-and-go traffic at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, the car next to him was violently rear-ended. The quarterback threw his car into park, hopped out and ran to the woman whose car had been hit. She was wearing, of all things, an Esiason jersey, and was utterly shocked when he tapped on her window to check on her.
"Are you OK?" he said, trying to keep calm. "Are you OK?"
"Boomer? Is that you?" she asked the Good Samaritan, sounding disoriented. "I think I'm OK, but . ... "
But what?
"But you guys sucked."
Welcome to the New York Jets, Tim Tebow.

Say what you want but I learn a ton of shit every game from Collinsworth and Jaws. They know how to break down the action away from the football. That's what I really want. I don't need someone telling me that Ray Rice ran the ball, I have eyes, but telling me how so and so made a nice block on the backside is what I don't see on TV.
