Jets are doing jets related things also... THE KNICKS.
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 PM) already back to doing what he did last season THROWING INT's
ganggreen2003 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:04 PM) sucks that Garrard retired but I'd rather suffer with Geno going through growing pains than keeping Sanchez under center in 2013
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 12:33 PM) haha gg03 throwing in the towel on sanch!
mgjetman Icon : (Yesterday, 01:37 PM) What a way to make sporrts center already, Mark......
mgjetman Icon : (Yesterday, 01:39 PM) Sanch owns the #1 blooper of all time with that butt fumble also and to make matters worse he threw it right to a friggin Pat...
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:53 PM) buttfumble on thanksgiving was the low point of his career
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 01:55 PM) Teammates talking shut about Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) In case you haven't heard, because why would anyone report on the Giants, Nicks is also holding out
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) That makes both Cruz and Nicks.
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 02:11 PM) But who cares, Sanchez threw 3 "interceptions"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) ?
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 02:59 PM) why would we give a f*** about the Giants?
santana Icon : (Yesterday, 03:04 PM) gg03 jimmies are riled
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) You're not in NY. All the backpages are focused on Sanchez
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 03:21 PM) None of the NY media even mention Cruz or Nicks
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 03:40 PM) nicks isn't holding out. he's injured still and taking it easy. cruz is holding out. why it isn't a big ordeal IDK. it would be for us
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) maybe because theyre not that far off.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:02 PM) Cruz wants to return back, they'll figure it out.
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) 3 mil a year off or 30% less then cruz wants. tahst alot of money to be off
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Yesterday, 04:41 PM) cruz doens't want to leave NY cause teh extra money he'll get in endorsements plus he knows taht they can RFA him this year and then Franchise next year so he might not be able to get a LTD for 3 years
Mr_Jet Icon : (Yesterday, 05:21 PM) Clemens11/Tebow15 (soon to be Smith7) said if we had just drafted Crabtree and Nicks and kept Clemens, we'd be good.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) No, he can't be Smith7
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) his name is reserved for garbage QBs, we don't want Geno to be bad
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:44 PM) He can be McElroy14
extmenace Icon : (Yesterday, 06:51 PM) we're taking bridgewater next year with the number 1 pick and treating geno like a jimmy clausen.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 06:53 PM) What makes Bridgewater better than Geno?
HurricaneJet32 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:12 PM) everything
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 07:56 PM) ^
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:16 PM) college players always get hyped up before the draft process, just wondering what makes him so much better.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) Stronger arm, plays in a pro system, better throwing motion, better athlete
Jetsman05 Icon : (Yesterday, 08:19 PM) there's probably nothing Geno does right now that's better than what Teddy does
SecondHandJets Icon : (Yesterday, 10:25 PM) Wouldn't it be funny with Bridgewater ends up having the type of season Barkley had?
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) better athlete but never runs as well
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) stronger arm but rarely throws deep
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:48 AM) I am trying to find this article, but Bridgewater had about the least amount of 40+ throws in college football
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 07:49 AM) I wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't viewed as highly next year. College players always get hyped up a year before the draft process. People change their opinions quickly.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 07:56 AM) I'll put a good amount of money that Bridgewater is still highly regarded coming out next year.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) ok I found the chart
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:00 AM) Bridgewater had 0% of his passes go 40+ yards in college
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) he could be, I'll wait though
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:02 AM) I doubt Smith will be as bad as Clausen anyways
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) I remember watching Clausen in a NFL game and the guy couldn't even throw a spiral.
Jetsfan0099 Icon : (Today, 08:03 AM) Geno has been impressing teammates with how well he can spin the ball and sling it.
Jetsman05 Icon : (Today, 08:31 AM) I hope Geno turns out to be a f***ing monster
Jetsfan115 Icon : (Today, 10:52 AM) andrew luck was hyped up for like 3 years before he entered teh draft

Thoughts?

Seems is if Peyton and Colts are going part ways. If he plays do you want him?

If hes healthy, HELL YES. Hes an elite QB and would make everyone better, it would put us in great position to get to a SB within the next few seasons. Rex Ryan with Peyton Manning would be insane. Hes really the only QB I would want to start over Sanchez next year.

The NFL would love seeing Brady vs Manning 2 times a year, would make the Jets/Patriots rivalry huge.

No. Too many holes on this team. Not a QB away from the Super Bowl.

I gotta go with 05 here. As critical as I've been on Sanchez he still should be the starter.

- we invested to much in him already
- we've been to 2 AFC champ games with him
- the downside to not winning with Peyton would round house kick this franchise
- The neck injury is big deal even if he's cleared to play
- in 2-3 years were back a square 1 all over again
- We wouldn't keep Sanchez if we get Peyton

Just a few reasons.

Few would turn down a healthy Peyton Manning playing at his previous level.

But it all depends on a.) his health and b.) the cost. We don't know how durable he's going to be after so long out, and he's bound to come at a huge cost as 05 already said. Also, paying what the Colts will no doubt want for him and taking on his contract would be a massive gamble given his injury status. So I don't think there's much chance of it happening.

If hes healthy then you take him every single day.

Lunatics, would stick by sanchez with manning available. Yeah yeah yeah theres some honor in producing your own qb that leads you to the promise land. yeah i get the team is not well rounded and has more weaknesses then just at qb.

but simply qb is not the jets strength. with manning it would become a strength and give the team an identity. strike any time offense.

by this point its been so long the jets have been in a SB that you just have to say screw honor. every team builds through free agency in some way. if manning is released and comes out saying hes healthy and motivated to play for the jets.. you take him every day.

36 years old
Coming off a major neck injury
2-3 years of plays IF he is healthy. Healthy now still wouldn't mean he would be able to play at his previous level
Doesn't fix the RT
Doesn't teach everyone an offense he has been running for over a decade

If Peyton hit the FA market, there is no doubt the Jets would go hard after him. Question would be how healthy is he and would he play for the Jets?

If he is 100%.
If the cost did not mean we had to release the core players of this team.
If he would play here.
If we can protect him

Then yes. There is a whole lot of if in there. We would be foolish not to. If he is the difference for the Colts to be 11-5 one year and 3-13 the next, what would he do to an 8-8 team? He would be a 14 point a game advantage getting off the bus.

Yeah, the only negative things you are allowed to say are about Sanchez (and anyone else that held Holmes and Ryan back)!

I'd like to see Sanchez at least one year without Schotty before ditching him completely.

Haven't we been down this road before? We went through this with Favre so I''m gonna say no. Let's look at the big picture he would not come cheap, there's no guarantee that would be healthly next year, and I'd rather us not pull the trigger and then have to start all over again in 3 years. The sensible thing would be if Houston let's Mario walk, go hard after him get us the pass rusher we so desperately need. and bring back BE. There are much better ways to spend our money than going after yet another aging superstar to sell tickets.
