NEW YORK -- A person familiar with the deal says the New York Jets have re-signed wide receiver Patrick Turner to a one-year contract.
The deal, agreed upon about 10 days ago, is worth $875,000 with a $250,000 signing bonus, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the signing.
The 24-year-old Turner was scheduled to become a restricted free agent next month. A former college teammate of quarterback Mark Sanchez at Southern California, Turner had eight catches for 96 yards and a touchdown last season.
The Jets claimed him off waivers in 2010 from Miami, where Turner played under newly hired New York offensive coordinator Tony Sparano. The former third-round pick of the Dolphins has 10 career catches.

Interesting that Turner was drafted while Sparano was HC in Miami but only saw the field in two games for them before being cut. Maybe Sparano's opinion of him has changed having studied film since being hired? No doubt he'll have been consulted about the decision.
Turner's a good guy for depth and it's a positive that he played with Sanchez at USC too. Hopefully he sees more time in the passing game because under Schotty he was almost exclusively used as a blocker in the run game.

For now. Vic is going to cash in real soon.
If the Giants don't pay him, I hope we make a run at him.

How does a defense know that the jets are running the ball on the upcoming play? 88 is in the game! towards the end of the season, that wasn't always the case but prior to that, it was almost a certainty. If we at home can tell whats coming, imagine the other defense knowing.
